this is Dr. Emil Beenhouwer. he is 28 and runs the Elizabeth Mercy sanitarium. his eye is injured from an interaction with a patient.

this is Lukas Dijk. he is 23 and currently studying medicine under Dr. Beenhouwer’s wing.

this is Jakob Graaf. he is 20 and a patient at Elizabeth Mercy Sanitarium. he has the ability to replace limbs, skin, etc. by growing a replacement on his body.

lastly we have Elias Kleij. he is 24 and Jakob’s roommate at Elizabeth Mercy. he has the ability to cause someone to have blood clots and can cut off people’s blood flow.

chapter one, part one.
1607. Almere, Netherlands.
the doctor’s footsteps echo softly on the smooth stone of the floors. as he walks down the hallway, the normally loud patients become quiet. soft whispers are heard before everyone becomes silent all together. the doctor’s voice booms out, echoing throughout the long hallway.
the patients peer through the small windows in the doors of the rooms they were locked in. the doctor is bleeding heavily from one side of his face. in his hand is what looks to be a small balloon that had been popped, with a mixture of bloody confetti coming out of it.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
Whoever the **** exploded my eye, I say this, you will pay for what you have done! Now, whoever did this, knock on your door immediately!
Jakob turns to look at Elias
Jakob Graaf
Did you do this? Ellie, i know that Dr. Beenhouwer can be.. mean at times but that doesn’t mean you can do things like this..
Elias Kleij
Maybe i did do it! Besides, he deserved it anyway.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
I hear talking yet I should be hearing knocking! I will count to three, and if I don’t hear a knock by then, all of you will be punished!
Jakob Graaf
Ellie, please.. just admit that you hurt him..
Elias Kleij
I’m not going to! He fucking deserved it!

Jakob grabs Elias’ hand and pounds it on the door.

What the ****?! What is wrong with you, you little fucker!?

‘M sorry Ellie.. I had to..
the doctor opens the door, peering down at both Jakob and Elias. he hums in thought, gently tapping his chin with his finger.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
Come with me, Elias. We are going to have a little bit of fun now. Don’t be scared, sweetheart, it will be over soon.
Elias Kleij
No! I’m not going with you, you crazy ****!

Get the hell away from me!
the doctor tsks before grabbing onto Elias’ wrists. he holds onto them hard enough to leave bruises and drags Elias to the cafeteria.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
I’m going to make you wish you were never born, you filthy little brat!
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
How dare you treat me like that? I am your superior for fucks sake!
Elias Kleij
You’re a pretty shitty superior! You do nothing but make us feel unwelcome!
Emil sighed, gently pinching the bridge of his nose. he ignored the pain from his eye and instead set his exploded eyeball down on the cafeteria table.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
Eat it. Every last bit.
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
If you don’t start eating it, I’ll shove it down your pretty little throat and hope you choke to death.
Elias paused, a soft sniffle escaping his lips as he picks up the eyeball. he pops it into his mouth like it was a grape and chewed slightly before swallowing. he wanted to throw up.
Elias Kleij
Is t-that all, sir?
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
Yes darling.. now c’mere
Elias hesitantly steps closer towards the doctor, who in return wraps his arms around Elias.

Why are you hugging me?
Dr. Emil Beenhouwer
Because you were a good boy for me, sweetheart
