I was working at a café when I received a call. "Hello. This is Go Hana speaking, how may I help you?"

"Ms. Go, a few days back you came for an interview for a vacant secretary position. You got the job."

I couldn't believe my ears. I got the job. I got the job. I'm gonna be working for the top company in City B.

"We will send you an email with all the details. You will start work in two weeks time. The contract will be signed on your first day so I advise that you use your free time wisely. Thank you for your time."

"Thank you, thank you so much!"

She hung up.

I was so happy right now and for a moment I forgot about this cruel world. My boyfriend was the one who helped me to apply for this job so I'll surprise him today! I continued my work at the café until my shift was over. I bought a cake and some wine so we could celebrate together and made my way to his house. I bet he'll be happy too!

I arrive at his house and see that the door is unlocked. I slowly open the door, trying my hardest not to smile or show my excitement. Once the door was completely opened I felt all the excitement I felt leave me. That happiness that I was trying to suppress vanished into thin air at what I saw. My boyfriend was making out with my step sister. Tears began to fill my eyes as I watched them. "sorry for disturbing.." I said silently and then left the house quickly.

It was getting more difficult to stop my tears from falling but I fought them back. Maybe I should go to a club like others do and get over this hear break. I scoffed at my thought. As if i have the money to do that. I might as well go back home.

Immediately when I arrived home I was told that my parents were looking for me. That's a first.

"Good afternoon Madam and Sir." I greeted my parents. They hated when I called them mom and dad. "Sit down." my step mom ordered and I obeyed.

"You're getting married next week." She told me straight. "W-what?" I asked hoping that I heard wrong. "You're getting married next week." she repeated firmly.

"I refuse. I'm not getting married." I said immediately. My boyfriend just heated on me and now I'm getting married. I refuse.

"It wasn't an offer. Think of it as you repaying us for raising you even though you were a love child, with a ***** of a mom. Just do it."

My eyes glared at my step mom. "Don't you dare call my mom a *****. Love child or not, I decide who I want to marry. You have no right-"

"Shut up!" My step mom shouted as she slapped me. "You will get married and that's final. If it weren't for us, you'd be a peasant in our world. Be grateful that we took you in." she said with venom dripping out of every word.

I remained silent. Although I was silent, the wheels in my head were spinning. I wanted to figure why my life was so unfair. First a family that has no respect for me, then a boyfriend who cheats on me with my sister and now finally a sudden marriage? This was it. They've pulled the final string and it's snapped. There's no fixing things. There's no going back...
