Valerie Ashford growled with anger in her eyes and frustration in her voice.

Flash back a week ago

The morning bells were ringing. The fog outside was cleared by the sun. A woman in her twenties stood in front of the mirror 🪞. Her raven hair pulled back up in a perfect ponytail. Wearing a formal attire perfectly ironed not even a clue of crease. Her electrifying blue eyes which held little to no emotions.

She glanced at her watch on her left wrist.

She took her phone and her bag and headed downstairs. Marching towards the dinning table where a lavish breakfast was already set. She was greeted by a man and woman in there fifties. She greeted them politely.

Valerie took a seat on the left side of her father.

Valerie stood and went towards her and extended her hands to hug her mother but

Without sparing any second glance Valerie walked out of the house.

Valerie boarded her black Lamborghini and drove off. She preferred doing doing things on her own.

As she believed a work done is its best form when done by your own self. Henceforth Valerie Ashford never depended on anyone else.

If only perfection had a face it would be Valerie Ashford.

Valeries car came to an abrupt stop when she saw another was about to hit a puppy.

She pulled her car over keeping the emergency lights on. And ran over across the street to save the puppy.

She grabbed the puppy in her arms and car came to an immediate stop. Valerie held the puppy tight in her arms.

The person inside the car groaned.

The person came out of the car. Looking at the puppy in valerias arm. The person realised. The car was about to hit a life.

Valerie cut the person off before letting the person finishing their sentence.

Valerie ran towards her car and drove as fast as she could.

The person then noticed a little blood on the street.

The person got the car and started following her.

Valerias car came to an stop at the vet. She came out of the car and held the puppy making score it’s wound dosent open.

Valerie nodded and followed the nurse. The unknown to reached there right behind. Catching a glimpse fo her, the unknown made way to her. But she ran behind the nurse.

In the doctors cabin :

Valerie took the puppy near the doctor. And let him treat the little thing. The unknown waited outside for her to leave the cabin.

30 minutes later the doctor was done treating the puppy.

15 minutes later the puppy was done with the treatments.

Now that you look at it. It had pure white fur just like snow and dark brown eyes. The nurse handed the puppy to Valerie. She took him in her arms and went outside the cabin. The unknown was still waiting for her and saw her walking out of the cabin.

The unknown was still standing there and heard her talk. Chuckling a bit.

Valerie glanced at her watch.

Augustus walked up to the nurse who was holding snow.

The nurse handed snow over to him.

Augustus successfully completed the adoption processes.

Augustus pulls over at a pet store.

He went over to the counter for making his id.

:hi, how may I help you ?

Said the gentleman at the counter.

: oh what did u name ur little guy.

: alright you can look around until the id is prepared

Augustus roamed around for an hour. He bought everything necessary for snow. His leash, some clothes since it was winter, some treats, food and etc.

Snows id was also ready. Augustus decided to take snow with him to the office since he was not familiar with his house. And also Augustus was visiting his parents house in the evening.

While at the same time at valeries side

Valerie usually reaches her office at 10am sharp and she wasn’t planning on breaking that legacy anytime sooner.

Her car pulled over in the basement of her office at 9:50am.

She ran towards the elevators straightening her clothes. Making her look crisp and perfect as she was. As she exited the elevator she was greeted by a lady in her late twenties.

She was a brunette with contrasting grey eyes.

She greeted Valerie with a soft yet a professional tone.

Valerie and Sussana proceeded towards the inspection.

This is Valerie ashford.

Standing tall at 5 feet and 5 inches. Her long silky raven hair complimented with steel blue electrifying eyes.

Her demeanour never fails to intimidate anyone.

This is her demeanour at work. Which earns her the name of silent killer.

Valerie Ashford is the only daughter of the Ashfords henceforth she is expected to be perfect in everything.

Never had friends. Never had relationship. She was alone almost her entire life.

After finishing the inspection Valerie and Susanna went back to Valerie’s cabin.

Time ticked by Valerie immersed herself in her work. As if it was her salvation.

While at Augustus’s side

He was visiting his parents.

As he reached his parents house. He held snow in his arms and entered.

Augustus was greeted by a male and a female in their late fifties.

Avery ran out of the kitchen to see her 6 foot 3 inch muscular son holding a tiny little while puppy.

Avery ran over to Augustus and took snow from his hand.

She showered snows faces with kisses.

Augustus spotted his dad cooking the kitchen.

Augustus and his dad had more of a friendly relation.

In the meantime Avery came inside the kitchen with snow.

Luke saw what his wife was saying.

He glanced over at the little puppy 🐶

While in the garden Augustus sat down on the garden Chair and was lost in his thoughts.

He was snapped out of his thoughts from snows barks.

He held snow like a baby in front of him.

An image of Valerie flashed in his mind. And a slight blush crept on his cheeks.

He carried snow with him. And placed him near the dinning with his food.

Augustus took his seat on the dinning table.

But if his parents had a serious expression.

Augustus’s mouth was wide open upon seeing the lady’s picture.

Augustus and his family completed dinner in peace with a few teases dropped by the father and the son here and there.

At the same time at Ashford mansion

Meanwhile at the same time at Valerie’s side

She was busy working at her office.

The light of the shining moon reflected on her face. Highlighting her crystal clear smooth skin. Her eyes which were intense most of the time were soft as the colour of the blue sky at twilight.

Valerie reluctantly got back to work.

Since she was flying in 2 hours she took the rest of her work with her to finish on board.

The next morning

Augustus was sleeping peacefully with snow next to him.

Snow was tightly cuddled up with Augustus.

As the sun Peaked from the blinders. Augustus well defined face was highlighted.

He slowly opened his eyes.

He opened his just to close them back again as a sharp ray of sun pierce his hazel iris.

He saw snow who was cutely snuggled next to him.

Augustus took a day off from his office as she he wanted to prepare well before visiting the ashfords.

He took snow in his lap and opened something.

Upon seeing something snow pounded on Augustus’s phone.

Although Augustus and his family were billionaires but they preferred ordinary lives. Like cooking together and spending time to together making the family bond even more.

Hard to believe but Augustus had fine culinary skills and he enjoyed cooking. He used to cook with his father when he was younger for his mother.

Augustus moved out of the mansion when was 18 after buying himself an 6 BHK luxurious penthouse.

There was only his nanny who used to take care of him since childhood in the house.

But apparently she was on a holiday today.

Hence Augustus cooked his breakfast and even shared a little bit with snow.

Augustus was on cloud nine. He was genuinely happy and looking forward to spend his entire life with Valerie.

He dialled his mother for a video call to get some advise.

No matter how old he got Augustus was always a sweet mother’s son. He loved spending time with his family nonetheless.

As he dialled his mother’s number. The call was received.

A slight blush crept over Augustus’s face.

Augustus immediately covered his face with his hand.

Augustus’s eyes widen upon hearing his mother’s thoughts.

Augustus turned his camera towards snow who was lying down in his bed.

Snow jumped up upon seeing Avery.

He went to Augustus and pounced with his paw on his phone.

2 hours later Augustus was done choosing his outfit.

Time passed by real quick

She asked nervous looking Augustus as they all stood in front of the Ashford mansion.
