Kai’s POV:

My alarm went off waking me up , I get off my bed and go to the bathroom . After getting dressed in my usual baggy hoodie and loose jeans I head downstairs to the kitchen where I see mom cooking breakfast while Mason is driving an imaginary car .

“ Morning mom ” I said , “Morning to you too Ka, here ” she said smiling while passing me a plate of scrambled eggs ,after eating I left for school or as I like to call it hell . Twenty minutes later I reach my destination . Walking through the hallway for my first class suddenly I am pushed into a locker , I groan from the impact “Loser” I hear Nick say and his buddies laughing , I sigh and get up collecting my books . They are the stereotypical mean squad of our highschool so their qualities consists of being mean , popular , cake their face in unhealthy amounts of makeup and whoering around . I really wanted to show them right then and there who is the loser but I kept my calm and continued walking to my class.

Since it is lunch time I go to the canteen , reaching there I go to the farthest corner to eat my lunch . I was eating my lunch peacefully which is very rare when suddenly everyone bursts in whispers and screams . The cause of this chaotic mess is the infamous badboy Dallas with Mason,Ace,Maria and Jesica , they are the badass group of the school . Jesica and Maria are twins beautiful but deathly , Mason the playboy of the group , Ace the prankster and lastly Dallas captain of the boxing club with a greekgod body and a sinfully handsome face. Everyone wants to be with them , no one wants to be on their bad side. Everyone is gawking at but they don’t spare them a glance except Mason and make their way to their spot .

It is the last class of the day maths , I may be a nerd but I hate it with all my being . I can’t wait to leave this hellhole dealing with the stupid people here irritates me but I have to keep up my act. “Kai … Kai… KAI ” shouted Mr. Charles

“ Yes sir “

“ If you are done daydreaming would you mind answering the question on the board ”

Damn him now I have to stay in this hell hole for an hour more , grumbling I make my way to detention . Entering the room I see Dallas and Ace sitting in the back , just my luck to be stuck with them sighing I make my way to the window seat and sat down trying not to be noticed . This lasted until the teacher had to leave the room as Ace started to throw paper balls at me after 10 minutes I could not keep my irritation in , this time I dodged the ball and gave him a glare saying “ Cut it ” both of them were shocked of how I reacted of course who would think the nerd would have the guts to say something to them . Before something could happen the teacher came in saying we could go , I bolted from my seat and left quickly not letting them catch up with me . I might or might not have dug my own grave but I push that thought in the back of my mind there are more important things than this right now.

“AND THE WINNER OF THIS FIGHT IS LITTLE DEMON THE UNDEFEATED CHAMPION OF UNDERGROUND”

The announcer shouted in the microphone . The crowd of people chanting my name .

I showered ,changed my clothes , went to the booth to take my money for today’s fights and straight went out without speaking a word to Sarah my manager.

Well now to complete homework ,still have to keep up my façade as a nerd , well I do like to study and read books so I am bit of a nerd .

But not a normal nerd for sure .

Dallas’s POV:

Our training finished , exactly 4 hours have passed since that incident and I still can’t seem to get him out of my head . Sure I have seen him around a few times , he is always alone and other students push him around. But I feel this aura from him which tells me he much more than what he shows that he is different from others , this has always intrigued me and today the incident in detention room has proved my assumption right ,now I am very much interested in him . I smirk well seems like I know what to do tomorrow .

Kai’s POV :

Leaving for school I have a not so good feeling about today , well it might be because of the incident yesterday in the dentention room but I hope I am wrong . Walking through the hallway everyone is staring at me now its not something new to me but what is that they have if I am correct fear in their eyes , they are looking away as I am looking in their direction and they are not doing anything like no pushing or tripping me instead they are avoiding me which usually is the other way round . I open my locker to take my books , after a few seconds I tripped on someone’s foot . I sigh in relief yup its the same nothing is different …………….. No ! everything is different the guy apologized to me , helped me and no one laughed at me . Something did happen my gut feeling was right , this is the worst everybody is nice to me and they are talking to me . NO , NO , NO  I don’t want this  I want to go back to being invisible . What happened or who happened ? I don’t care but I am pissed to have my invisible-not caring school life become chaotic .

It is lunch time now I go out of the classroom and see Nick there his eyes glaring at me , he approaches me and says

“ Listen here you loser I will not forget today , I don’t know what you did to get him to notice  you but I don’t care

lets wait till your luck runs out , which wont take long since its you we are talking about and when it does I am going to make you regret the day you were born .”

“ What are you talking about , get noticed by who ? ” I ask frowning

“ Don’t act clueless you bitch , you think you are so innocent and smart huh when you too want attention and be popular . Now get out of my way I don’t want your ugly germs . ” he said pushing me and went stomping

his feet like the brat he is .

But I am confused as hell what was he talking about , what happened today , is this related to everyone being weird

today and who is “ he” . Whatever this is wont last very long as he said it me being talked about the nerd , everything will go back to normal in a day or two but till then I have to be extra care full and keep calm . Taking a deep breath I say “ Okay I can do this .” and go to the canteen for lunch . After getting my tray I walk towards my table where I will finally be at peace for some time .

You see that is where I was wrong , I was in for a big surprise . Reaching my table I saw Dallas and his group sitting

there , they were looking at me , then Mason got up , side hugged me and said “Hey man nice job yesterday Ace was so shocked his face looked like he saw a ghost ha ha ha ha ha ”

“ Shut up man I was just a little shocked and you should have seen his face then we will talk ” Ace said sulking

“ You two stop throwing food I swear if you two ruin my shirt this time I am going kill you ” Maria said glaring at them , it was funny how they saluted her with a scared face and said yes mam .

I was sitting beside Dallas “ Hi we meet again , yesterday’s event got me interested , you are not what you show right, you are much more than that and I want to know all about you” he said smirking at me .

In my mind “ How the **** did I get in this mess ”

Dallas POV:

“ You are wrong there is no more to me than being a nerd ” he said glaring at me

“ Well but your expression is saying otherwise” I said calmly

“ You .. ” he said getting angry but he calmed himself down and stared eating his food .

I have to say his angry face was cute , he is very cute and handsome overall black wavy hair , tanned skin , a cute baby face but despite all this he is 5’8 and in good shape although he looks skinny because of his baggy shirt . The bell rang indicating lunch was over there were only me and him on the table right now .

He got up to go but I grabbed him by his waist and whispered in his ear “ I was always intrigued by you , you were

always different from others and I know you are much more than what you show and I am going find out what you are hiding and make you mine ”

I kissed his temple , he was frozen in his spot , his ears turning red .Chuckling I said “ You are cute when you blush "

“ UGH ” he stepped on my toe

“ You jerk , pervert I am not blushing and I am not anyone’s ” he said still blushing and ran away .

I smiled slightly , he indeed is different. Yeah as of now you are not anyone’s but soon you will be mine .

Kai POV :

AAAHHHHHH what the hell was he spouting , that jerk who does he think he is saying he will make me his huh and .... and he kissed me ...... HE KISSED ME ,  ok even though it was on my temple but how dare he , next time if he tries to do anything I will kill him to hell with keeping my calm.

Wait no , no ,no what am saying ugh all this is getting in my head , there will be no next time  I will avoid him at all costs , I can't risk him knowing my secret , I ...I cannot let him get close to me at all cost . I can't let him or anyone else get hurt because of me again , I close my eyes memories which I have hidden deep inside me resurface  making me sad and angry at myself . He got hurt because he tried to save me even though I was the one who promised him to protect him , to be there for him always but in the end I could not protect him , I put him in danger , I was not there for him when he needed me the most . He was the one who saved me and almost died ,I can never forget what he did for me and my family , I am very thankful to him but neither can I forgive myself for what happened to him , what I did to him so I ran away from him and from them and I am still running . Enough there is no use remembering the past what matters right now is to protect my family but this time alone and finish this once and forever . I have been running away for 2 years but I cannot hide forever , it won' t be long before they come for me again and when they do I will be ready .

I take out my phone to make a call

" Sarah arrange some fights for me I will be there in 20 "

" Waa so cold be a little flexible sometimes "

" Whatever , just make sure I don't have to wait too long and the opponents are strong " I said rolling my eyes

" Ok ,Ok , no need to rude jeez. You know you should talk nicely to me I am the best manager in underground , you are lucky , every fighter wants me as their mana...." I cut the call not wanting to listen her bragging about herself .

I leave school and make my way to underground , its the best way to distract my self and let out my emotions . I don't have to worry about the school calling mom because the teachers don't care and the staff is too lazy to do anything on their own .

AT UNDERGROUND

Sarah's POV :

" Hello .....hello "

" YOU RUDE BRAT HOW DARE YOU HANG UP ON ME , that to when I am telling you about how lucky you are to have me as your manager , AIYESH  " I shout .

I sigh and fix some matches for him as per his request or more like demand but because I am a very nice and kind woman I am going to ignore that .

It does not matter how cold or rude he behaves because I know he cares and trusts me but something in his past made him build walls around him , neither he allows someone to come in nor he allows himself to break them . I still remember the first time I met him ,I smile remembering that day .

2 YEARS AGO

" I have told you many times I won't be your manager so stop wasting my time and get lost . " I say annoyed .

" What is the problem I am strong, I win every fight , you get good fighters and have information about their style . If we work together we both will earn a lot of money " he said arrogantly.

" The problem you ask well let me tell you something you are right I have information about every fighters style , so  I also know about the cheap tricks you use to win and I don't work with weaklings like you . Now I am done so you better get out or I will get your sorry *** kicked out of here "

" You b***h \, you think you are some hot shot huh \, lets see what you do now ." he shouted and took the microphone from the announcer .

" LISTEN HERE EVERBODY I CHALLENGE SARAH TO FIND A FIGHTER AND DEFEAT ME , WHEN I WIN SHE WILL BE MY MANAGER AND WORK FOR ME AND IF SHE WINS I WILL LEAVE UNDERGROUND FOREVER "

he announced , ok now this creates a problem HE . MADE . ME . ANGRY .

" I ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE , PEOPLE BE READY FOR A GOOD SHOW AND FOR HIM TO LEAVE " I  said , the crowd was going wild , people were betting like crazy .

I got serious " Now to get down to business "

3 HOURS LATER

SHIT , SHIT , SHIT , only an hour is left and I haven't found a fighter to my liking , all of them are some stupid wannabe's . Come on , there has to be someone with a fire in their eyes to become the best with real strength rather than these punks on steroids I sigh clearly stressed . There was a commotion on the entrance so I went there to check , there I saw a 16 year old boy with a messed-up face wanting to fight but the security was not allowing him thinking he would die which will create a problem . Even I thought the same I was about to go when I saw his eyes , his eyes were telling me a different story , they had a burning flame in them wanting to achieve something and to burn anyone to come in between . This is it I thought he is the one so I told the security to leave him .

" Seriously him , you are choosing some problem kid to fight that guy "

" Who ever I choose is none of your business , now leave him I have fight to prepare for "

" Whatever don't regret your choice "

I ignored him and took the boy with me I have get to know him and check how bad his condition is overall .

" Who do I have to fight ? " he asked I was a bit taken aback by how stoic his tone was , I smirk seems I was right about him.

" Patience my boy I will tell you everything but first tell me about yourself "

" What do you want to know ? " mm straight to the point .

" For now your name , age and why are you here ? " he looked at me when I asked him the reason to be here as it's not everyday I see a 16 year old coming to fight here .

He took a deep breath and said " My name is Kai , I am 16 as for why I am here is because I need money , before you ask I am a street fighter so I am familiar with this . Now who do I have to fight? " oh interesting , I am pleasantly surprised .

" Well that makes it easier, ok so as for your opponent you will fight Death Skull . He is bulky , his height is 6'5, do not let him grab you , he has a strong grip , he mostly uses his upper body for attacks , he is not very fast on his feet and uses dirty tricks so beware of that . "

" Why am I fighting him ? "

" What do you mean why ?" I asked frowning .

" The reason for fighting him , you think I don't remember the conversation from before , the crowd is very excited expecting something to happen , everyone was eyeing you and a guy who matches your description "

" You are very observant I am impressed. "

After explaining him the situation , I left him to get dressed .

It's been a long time since I got a fighter this interesting , I am very excited for this fight .
