Prologue - When Things Change

199 years ago, a certain system had awakened, everything evolved or it went extinct.

Portals to other worlds or maybe planets appeared, it took a long time for humanity to regain its strength as they received the same evolution but just later. 

All previous domestic animals were domesticated again, all was the same except everything had some magic in them. 

It seemed as the planet earth and universe had changed and became much more bigger, it would have taken thousands of years to understand this all, fortunately, as the system first came, two people came to explain everything that was needed. 

A ranking system was explained by the 2 people and all was mostly fine, although many jobs had become more dangerous or didn't exist at all. The economy was a mess until around 30 or so years later.

December 31, Ellensol

A blonde boy with blue eyes calls out, 

"Sis!" 

While in a crowd, a blonde girl with red eyes appears, 

"What? I'm not going to get lost like last time!". (all of this is in like Japanese) 

Then oriental dragons appear (eastern dragons) in the dark blue sky, a beautiful phoenix appears as well.

A woman with teal hair and blue eyes sits on a couch with a man with light green hair and golden eyes. A ringing sound comes up, 

The woman picks up the phone that was ringing. 

"Yes?

"Belinda Leviathan special mana ore has been found and we currently want y-"

"I asked for a damn break!" 

She hangs up and the light green haired man speaks. 

"Maria, what's with the leviathans?"

"They have been creating a special substance which turns into a very special ore, anyways, your colleagues said that you captured another special plant species?" 

"Yep!"

Endless Apocalypse - Chapter 1

"Ugh… What time is it?" 

James looks at an alarm clock. 

"10am… sh- I'm late!" 

He changes into some shirt and pants nearby. Then he goes into the kitchen and eats the sunny side quickly on the counter. 

"Sorry Maria! But I'm going to be late!" 

He dashes out the door and runs to a glowing circle. 

Whoosh

And repeat, until he arrives near some tall buildings. Into the tallest building he goes. 

"James Abilene, I'm here to submit a project!" 

The man at the desk sighed in annoyance

"Boy, this is for level 3 to level 5 projects" 

Another man comes. 

"Sorry James, he's a newcomer" 

"Oh, I see" 

"Anyways, you got a special project specifically for you again and yet you finished it in 2 weeks"

The man takes the files

"And I'll be off!"

"Maria, oi!" 

A man waves at a girl with teal hair and blue eyes. 

"Huh? I already finished the project and the boss promised me that I would get a break for at least 1 week" 

The man who was tall and handsome walks towards me. 

"Yes, but do you perhaps want to eat lunch together and maybe go have coffee together?" 

"Sure, but I can't drink coffee with you, sorry!" 

"May I ask why?" 

"Because my boyfriend and I are going on a long road trip, we even rented a van!" 

"I see that you have a loving boyfriend…" 

"Yep!" 

3 hours later

"I can't wait to meet can't wait to meet our little li-"

"Sorry…" 

"Then am I drivi-" 

Maria immediately opens the normal but futuristic car door and swiftly sits on the driver seat. 

"Does that answer your question?" 

"Yes…" 

"Uh, why are the display screens glitchy?" 

Zing!

"Huh weren't we in our car?" 

The crowd murmurs

Then we all got teleported again but this time we were all alone. 

The display screens showed the two people who would check on us every 1 or 2 years and also the ones to introduce us to this mess and help us for years. 

"Hello, it's us, Max and Titania"

"We're here to tell that the ultimate quests shall begin!" 

Then 3 more screens appeared in front of me. 

"You will have 3 sets of skills depending on… We had to spend a hundred years just to choose so I don't even want to begin on that" 

"Its okay, Max" 

"Thank you Titania, anyways, choose one of the 3 sets that is in front of you, all 3 sets have the same amount of spells or whatever you guys call them now"

"After you have chosen a set, you will sleep right away, you have 5 hours to choose so until everyone finishes, you'll be asleep" 

"If you don't choose a skill in the 5 hours then a large disadvantage will be given to you" 

"Your set will be randomly chosen too, an event will be held after this so the gods and goddesses can see what you're actually like!" 

"The event will be 4 days long" 

Both of them talk a bit more but I was more focused on the 3 screens in front, soon both of them wave their goodbyes in unison then the screen disappears and a timer appears. 

'These 3 sets have one thing in common, the first type. Although they have second types like light which is one of the evolutions after fire, light, toxin, earth'

'Which one will suit this little plant boy best?'

'I wonder if James is fine…' 

'Let's just choose this set already'

"Sis?? You're here with me?!" 

"Yeah, I'm not sure why though" 

"What set of skills did you get?" 

"One is taming, another is toxin and the last one is dark" 

"Huh? No secondary skill type?" 

"The toxin has water while the dark has what it appears to be, a wind type, the taming has none" 

"The man called Max said that are skill types will open doors to different supporters" 

"It's best to choose carefully anyways" 

"All my sets has fire as either their second or first type" 

"Then the other types?" 

"The first one has wind, the second one has earth and the last one has a tree so probably nature" 

"Can't you become something like a phoenix if you choose the wind and fire" 

"Can't you tame a phoenix then?" 

"Maybe I can tame a dragon or maybe a taming god or goddess might be my supporter!" 

"Didn't grandma used to talk about myths of a king being a dragon while the queen being a phoenix?" 

"Yeah! But don't you want to be the king?" 

"Sis always protects me so think of this as payment" 

"Oh so benevolent queen, let's choose our set shall we?" 

Both children giggle and tap on the screen, soon they faint. 

4 hours later

Groan

"Ugh… Maria?" 

"J-James??" 

Maria dashes to hug me. 

"I'm fine and how about you? Are you hurt?" 

"Completely fine" 

Screens appeared again, Max and Titania explained that every creature will have names and we would already have small details. 

We could just survive and eat edible food but unfortunately they told us that points will be given once a creature is killed. 

The points would be useful for the future they said then disappeared again. 

"What are your set of skills by the way?" 

"I can control plants as well as form them into type of weapons"

"Only that?" 

"No, I can heal too, there's apparently a type tree too, so your skills please?" 

"Lightning and water" 

"I expected the water but not lightning… My oh so beautiful girlfriend, let me mooch of you~" 

"Alright my old dwarf blacksmith" 

"Are you going to be Aphrodite?" 

"I-" 

Grr Hisss

A large serpentine with feathery wings lunges at me while a green lean cat body like the creature called 'Cheetah' of the past but green and with vines lunges at Maria. 

. 

I was a bit too excited about this since I thought it won't get much attention so I should at least make it long.
