"Look Sakura" Wendy Tan whispered.

"Can we use this picture?"

Wendy handed Sakura the photograph.The picture had been taken long time ago.It showed a family riding down a busy city street in a horse-drawn carriage. A thick blanket was tucked around them They looked cold but happy.

"Good find, Wendy," Sakura told her young assistant. She kept her voice low. "The clothes they're wearing will help us design costumer that are just right"

they were in the Manhattan Central Library.They were working on a new musical play called New York Newcomers. Set a hundred years before,it was about some poor families who had come to new york from other countries. The families had faced many problems. But they had meet people who had helped them adjust to their new life.

Sakura was the play's producer.part of her job was to work with the costume and set desiners.Wendy was helping Sakura find picture that would give them ideas for cotume and scenary.

Sakura glanced around the roon.Sunshine streamed through tall windows.Polished wood table and chairs gleamed. "This Library is handsome enough to be a stage set itself," She said "I wonder how old it is"

"Almost a hundred," whispered a woman standing nearby . A badge was clipped to her jacket.

She give them a friendly smile l. " Sorry. I couldn't help overhearing. Whatever you're doing it sound like fun. Maybe I can help. I'm Rachel Gardener the head librarian here."

Sakura offered her hand l. "Hi, Rachel,I'm Sakura. I'm producing a play on Broudway.

Wendy is helping me. her high school chose her through a special program for young writers."

"Let's go outside and talk," said Rachel softly. "I'd love to hear about your play. Maybe we can get some lunch in the park."
