WHAT DOES A BORN SIGHTLESS Person DREAM?
This question once occurred in my mind when I was reading a blog. I’m an inquisitive person, so whenever this kind of thoughts shows up, I Google it.
So I did! But there wasn’t any answer which would make me feel like ‘Yeah! That’s what I was looking for!’
So I asked my best friend and she told me to visit a renowned society for sightless people. That was actually a good idea, so I made a plan to visit there on next day.
Next morning I woke up and got ready to go there. It took much time to reach there cause it was far from my home. I reached there by mid-day.
I had to take permission before going in and also include a purpose to visit. So I said them that I came to interview born sightless persons. They allowed me after that. Then I went in.
I saw lot of sightless persons of different ages. So I asked a worker to take me to some mid aged persons. He took me and I asked them.
Some of them answered, they don’t dream like a normal person. They just dream blank but hear some sounds, which they grew up hearing.
Other some answered, they sometimes watches stick figures talking around in their dreams.
Also some said, they sometimes sense touches or smell while dreaming.
But most of them answered that they dreamt to be able to see the world before dying.
Getting too many answers, I was literally confused that which one I should write down. None of them were suitable for me but still I’ve to write down one of them.
It was the time of twilight. Sun was setting down slowly as it was a summer evening.
One of the workers of the society gave me a cup of tea and suggested me to visit a lake near this area at this time. So I went there after finishing my tea.
After going there, I was confused that whether the weather is summer or spring? It was so windy there. The sky was looking fabulous at that time. The setting sun reflected on the water of the lake and made a beautiful scenery. I couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures of the scenery.
There wasn’t that much people around the lake. So I sat beside a small boy on a seat beside the lake.
“So you’re the lady who interviewed uncle Ramesh?” the boy asked me.
“Yeah! I’m the lady who interviewed him.” I took a moment to figure out whether he’s sightless or not, because he wore black goggles.
“So you can see! Huh?” I asked.
“No.” he answered straightly.
“Then how did you know that I’m the one who were interviewing? I could have been anyone else from this society?”
“Nah! I smelled your perfume, which no one here uses.” I went silent for sometimes.
“What were you questioning them?” he asked after sometimes.
I judged him for sometimes before saying,
“I would tell you but you’re too young to understand or answer this question.”
“Still you can give a try on me.” The boy was so confident to answer the question. So I thought to myself that what else a 6 year old boy would answer. Same as to see the world. So I asked him.
“Okay, so the question is, What does a born sightless person dream? To be honest, I didn’t get any suitable answer of it till now.”
“Didn’t uncle give suitable answer to this question?” he asked.
“Not really.” I answered straightly.
“Well, I don’t know what is the suitable answer would be but I would like to share some words.”
“Yea, sure! Go for it!”
“See! I don’t know about others, but all I dream is to grow up and become someone that won’t make me regret over my sightlessness.”
