Today was the most important day for me. Me, Cecila Lee, will have to find a soulmate in 100 days. And not just that, I have to be in a different dimension! I turned fifteen years old the day before. It was scary. If you didn’t find your soulmate, then you would remain without one forever. It was a big deal for me because I always dreamed about having a soulmate. It was early in the morning

and I had to rush to the huge building in the center of town. I had to be directed towards the dimension I had to go. It was really nerve racking. I ran with my heart beating in my white and pastel pink dress. Then I was infront of a tall black building with shiny windows for each level of the building. I gulped as I walked in the most fanciest door I ever saw in my life. I walked around the building until I felt someone breathing on my black silk hair. I turned around instantly and saw a tall man in black standing behind me. I spoke up and said, “Um, hello sir. I’m Cecilia Lee and I came here for-“

“To find your soulmate? Come with me miss.” the suspicious guy said. I knew he was the man I was looking for beause he had a tiny pin on his suit that was the same symbol in the front of the building. As we walked around the black and white halls, I saw odd looking rooms. Above each door, had a name of someone. I was observing the names until we made an abrupt stop. It was a door just like the others, except this door had my name above it. “This is your room.” said the man. I nodded amd stepped inside the room. It was pitch black.

“Sir, what do I do now?” I asked confused. I walked around the room trying to see what I had to do. Then I saw the man press a button. The ground started to shake and I wanted to run out of the room but the man was blocking the entrance. “Move!” I yelled. He didn’t move at all. I was scared for my life. I screamed at the man saying ”Move!” or “Let me out!” Then suddenly a blue spark started to swirl around the center of the room. The blue spark got bigger and bigger until it stopped expanding.

“Get in.” the man said. He wanted me to go in that thing that just popped out of the room from nowhere?

“There’s no way that i’m getting into that thing!” I screamed. He then looked down at me. His eyes meeting mine.

“Get. In.” he said. His face turned serious with a hint of madness in it too. His voive deepened as well. I was too scared to answer that I just shook my head.

“N-no. I d-don’t want to.” I said quietly looking away from the man. His face turned into anger. Then, he held his hands out and pushed me as hard as he probaly have could. My eyes widened as I felt myself falling into the mysterious portal. I couldn’t see a thing, except the room I was in flashing from existence.

I fell through the portal into pitch darkness. I was falling down for about two mintues until I landed on a soft surface. Suprisingly the fall didn’t hurt whatsoever. I felt the surface I was on and it felt like grass. I managed to pick myself up. And like I thought, it was grass. I believe I landed in a park. I felt weaker than I did before in my world. I noticed a change too. My clothes were different than the ones I had before. My silky white and pastel pink dress turned into a white shirt, a yellow bow, a brown skirt, and brown thigh high socks that matched my brown shoes. My hair was different too. It wasn’t down like before, instead it was in a side bun. “Where am I? And what do I do?” I asked myself in my head because I didn’t want anyone else to know that I came from somewhere else. Then I noticed that there was a red string wrapped around my finger. It was bright red that shined in the sunlight. But the strange thing was that it lead to somewhere else. It pointed North from where I was. I suspected that I had to follow the red string to find my one and only soulmate. But before I could follow the mysterious string, I had to know my surrounding. I saw a man with a long brown beard sitting on a bench. He was reading a newspaper. I was very nervous to go talk to him because I didn’t know where I was and I didn’t know him. I built up my confidence and walked to him. “H-hello sir. I was wondering if you know where this place is?” I asked shyly.

“Why do you want to know?” he asked. He had a suspicous face and I bet he wondered why I was even asking. I stood there for five seconds thinking about what I should say. He stared at me and I had to reply.

“I got here with a friend. She suprised me with this mysterious trip and I lost her. Can you tell me where I am so I could text her where i’m at?” I lied. He stared at me which felt like forever. My face turned red and everything was suddenly hot. Was he going to call the cops on my because I asked where I was? I gulped wondering the different possibilities he could do.

“Your in New York.” Specifically, Central Park. Next time stay with your friend so you don’t have to ask random strangers.” he said. He looked back down at his newspaper and started reading. I was relieved that he didn’t do anything to me. But I was also suprised. I never heard of New York. I lived in a place called “Stellar” which was part of the planet called “Universe.” On my planet, we aren’t aliens. We are regular people, just like the ones I saw around me. I walked away from the man and started walking down a path that led to a busy steet. I breathed heavily, knowing that my adventurous journey to find my soulmate was going to start.

“Geez, I have no idea for where to go...” I whispered. I didn’t want to follow the red string but I had to know more about this mysterious place. I had no idea what to do. Suddenly, my stomach growled. “I should find some food now...” I said. I started to walk faster, trying to find a food place. I didn’t even have coins, which is what we call money in my dimension. I missed my dimension. I had no one there because my mom and dad died from a horrible incident. I would never forget the day my parents died. I was 4 years old. They were coming back home from getting dinner. Then a random person attacked. They said the random person attcked because they never found their soulmate and they were angry at the people who did. The hardest part of their death was when I received the news. Someone knocked on the door and I thought it was them. But instead of seeing my wonderful parents, I saw my neighbors. They gave the new to me. I was miserable. A part if me died along with them, and I couldn’t seem to get that part back. My neighbors took me in their family. But when I turned fourteen, they said I had to leave and learn how to live without them before I went to find my soulmate. For a year I lived in a apartment. I saved money when I lived with my neighbors. I worked at a cafe near my home. It wasn’t a big cafe so they didn’t give me a whole bunch of money but luckily, I still had enough. I continued working there until the day I turned fifteen. The day before I had to leave my dimension, I was scared for my life. Was I going to find my soulmate or remain without one forever? Thinking about all of this made me cry. I walked ntil I could find a place where people weren’t at. “I miss you guys...s-so much...” I cried. My stomach growled. “Ugh, I need to find something to eat.” I sighed. I walked slowly because I haven’t had any rest whatsoever. There was no place that I found that would give me food for free. “How can I find anyone who can give me food? This is such a big city.” I said with no hope. I walked for twenty minutes and still, no food to be found. When my parents were alive, they gave me all the food I wanted. It made me smile, remembering the happiest days I ever had. I forgot about the food and was then worrying about where I had to sleep. Did they expect us to survive by ourselves?

“I might die before I even find my soulmate,” I shuddered. “How can they expect me, a fifteen year old, to survive in a city like this? It’s horrible!” As I was in my thoughts someone poked my shoulder. I turned around instantly and hoped it wasn’t some stranger. But they didn’t look likema stranger at all...
