All men are not born equal.
This was the lesson that Izuku had learnt from a very young age.
Toshinori Yagi took over as his father at the age of 1, ever since his actual father, Hishashi Midoriya, left and never came back.
His half sister Izumi was born that year, and they had great friends -
Katsuki, Shoto and Shoka Todoroki.
They all wanted to become heroes and were best friends.........
That is, until the day Izuku's life shattered.
Flashback
Three green heads can be seen going into a clinic. Two kids and their mom.
Today little Izuku and Izumi get to know their quirks. For young aspiring heroes, it's the crucial moment in their lives.
At the doctor's office
"Well, I have good news and bad news, Ms. Yagi. What would you like to hear first?" Asked the doctor to the excited trio.
Inko thought this over for a moment.
"Umm... The good news, please."
Doc -," The good news is that young Izumi here has a very strong power up quirk. Imma call it stock.
Basically, her energy gets stockpiled as she grows older. It gives her boosted strength but if she overdoes it, she ends up with burnt muscles."
Izumi smiled up to her mom.
"Yay, mom! Now I can be a powerful hero like All Might!"
"Yes you can, sweetie!" replied mom.
'Wow, I wonder what my quirk is' thought Izuku.
"Umm... as for the bad news.. "the doctor began.
They all listened eagerly.
"I'm sorry, kid. It ain't happening," the doctor said, turning to Izuku sadly.
_
_
Nothing could be heard as Izuku's All Might figurine fell on the floor.
Yes, in a world where 80% of people manifested certain superpowers called quirks, poor Izuku was part of the unlucky 20%.
The doctor sadly explained why he wouldn't manifest a quirk, but Inko didn't seem to care. She was simply too focused on Izumi.
As they drove home, Izumi felt sad for Izuku. It seemed as if the whole world had fallen down for him.
He thought things would be better when they got home, but....
"How did the tests go?" asked an impatient Toshinori to Inko.
"It seems Izuku here is quirkless, but main thing is that Izumi has a very powerful quirk called stock!" She exclaimed.
Toshinori smiled and lifted Izumi on his shoulders.
All this time, Izuku was in the corner, hurt by how his family didn't even acknowledge his existence.
Well, being the kind person that he was, he didn't want to ruin Izumi's special day, so he quietly went up to his room to weep.
Things were sure to get better by tomorrow, right?
Wrong
His parents completely forgot about him. They prepared a banquet breakfast for Izumi, saying a strong hero has to eat up to get stronger.
But it wasn't over yet
When he and his sister went to the playground to play with their friends, the kids immediately started discussing their quirks.
When they found out Izuku was quirkless, all shot pitiful glances at him.
Izumi shared her concern of Izuku hurting himself on the way to becoming a hero.
Then Katsuki had an idea.
Izumi went up to Izuku.
"Do you still wanna be a hero, big bro?"
"Yes! More than ev-" he was cut off as Katsuki punched him in the gut.
"Give up your damn dream, Deku!"
"You'll never be a hero," Shoto said as he froze him over.
Izumi was more than happy to join in with them.
Shoka just stood there, pitying him, not knowing what to do.
Thus began the hellish life of Izuku Midoriya.
He would go to school, get beat up to a pulp by his sister and her friends, then come back home with bruises, which his worthless excuses of parents couldn't notice because they were too focused on their princess, Izumi!
He learnt how to bandage himself and live independently, not that his family helped him out.
He felt so alone, like no one cared, a quirkless person could never accomplish his dream, always be cast down, always be rejected.
The poor boy was on the verge of breaking, giving up, much to the anticipation of his 'friends'.
But then,
His hopes rose when he met David Sheild.
The former All Might sidekick was surprisingly a good friend of his dad, and had recently moved to their locality.
Uncle David had always been nice to him and Izumi, and his house was always open to them.
Izuku would often come by their house to play with Melissa when he wasn't getting beat to a pulp by his 'friends' and so, he grew close to the Sheilds.
The thing he admired most was that Uncle David was also quirkless, and he still didn't give up on his dream.
He took him as a role model, and model father.
But still, as close as they were, Izuku had never opened up to him about what was going on in his life.
So still,
He kept on pushing, harder than yesterday, no matter how many times Izumi and gang bashed him, no matter how many times they abused him, he kept pushing.
He started doing graffiti to help out with the stress.
Any other guy would've given up, but he kept on pushing, harder than yesterday, 'cause he wanted a different tomorrow.
Flashback End
10 years later
Izuku
I spotted Izumi's gang in the distance as I made my way to school.
Sigh
Waiting for me, no doubt.
'I ain't getting beat up this time' I thought while taking the alleyway to avoid them.
"Aaah!"
That shriek stopped me in my tracks.
Wasn't that voice... "Melissa?" I murmured slowly as I peeped back at their gang.
Shit!
Without a second thought, I ran over to them.
"Hey!" I shouted as I came between Melissa and their gang.
_
_
They all took a moment to look at me before Kacchan smirked.
"Look who's here, shitty Deku the hero!" They laughed.
"L-leave her alone!" I stammered.
"Move aside," Shoto said as he activated his quirk, "or face the consequences."
"Izuku, I-I..." Melissa started, but I cut her off. "Run!" I screamed as I frantically tried, and failed, to fight the gang.
"Shitty Deku," said Bakugo as they walked away.
"Why don't you just give up?" Izumi exclaimed.
"Never," I muttered as they left.
Well, just another day in my life
"Izuku!" Melissa came running to me as I was trying to clean up.
"Hey, I thought I told you to run," I chuckled.
"Why?" Melissa squeaked with teary eyes.
"Huh?"
"Why would you put me before yourself?" cried Melissa.
"Oh, that. T-that's because.. " I started
"That's because it's what heroes do," I smiled. Melissa blushed.
"W-what?"
She quickly shook it off.
"N-nothing! It-t's just that it should be different, y'know. I could tell dad, an-"
I put my fingers to her lips. (blush)
"Don't tell Uncle David," I sighed." He doesn't need to be worried."
We made our way to school.
After school and the All Might incident
Boom!
I started to rush towards the source of the explosion, but stopped, recalling what All Might said.
Consider what's realistic. Be rational.
I eventually made it to the scene, but I wasn't prepared for what awaited me.
"Ka-Kacchan!" I exclaimed. I looked around.
Why weren't the pro heroes helping?
"I will not be defeated by some ugly *** villain!" screamed Bakugo.
'Be rational, be rational, be rational' I started muttering,
But then, my body moved on its own.
At the same time, I saw Izumi jump out.
"Izuku! What are you-" " Your courage has enforced me to act!" a voice boomed.
We watched in awe as the No.1 hero came charging towards the villain.
Detroi- Repulsion Burst!
A burst of explosion burnt the villain.
The crowd looked up to the source of the explosion. "Whew!"
"Looks like I made it in time," said Iron Man, No.7 Pro Hero, as he descended.
The crowd burst in applause. "Iron Man! Iron Man! Iron Man!"
Kacchan was praised by the pro heroes while I was scolded.
But then, Iron Man came up.
"Hey, c'mon guys. This kid here had the courage to step up to the danger! Don't see good guys like him these days."
"N-no, they're right. I'm quirkless anyway. I'll never be a hero," I stuttered out.
I hung my head.
_

_
"Hey kid," I looked up.
"Look up, I'm quirkless too."
At that time, I couldn't see his face under the mask, but if I did, I would've seen the smile on it.
Everyone was shocked to hear this. But before the media could poke their butts in, the hero burst into the air.
His words left me hanging.
'I can be a hero!"
No one had ever told me that before. Things were looking up for me.
As I turned to leave, I saw All Might take off with Izumi out of the corner of my eye.
Suspicious
I followed them through the shadows.
Then, when they found a place they thought was secluded, Izumi began to speak.
"All Might, what ar-" POOF!
A cloud of mist went up as All Might disappeared.
The mist slowly dispersed, only to reveal.... "Dad?" Izumi asked, dumbfounded.
"Yes, my child. I brought you here for a reason. It was me all along," Dad responded with a smile.
Then he went on to explain about his quirk, One For All, and it's origins.
"...and now, I choose you to be the ninth holder of One For All," he finished.
"W-wait. So, if you could do this all this time, why didn't you give it to Izuku?"
"Hmph. That kid don't got nothing on him. He's not worthy," All Might replied.
_
Well that was point break for me.
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ME? YOU IGNORED ME MY WHOLE LIFE! DO YOU EVEN KNOW I'VE BEEN TRAINING MYSELF ALL THESE YEARS? ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS IZUMI, IZUMI, IZUMI!" I exploded.
Almost instantly, I slapped my mouth shut.
Shit!
"Uh....Izu-" All Might started, but I was already out of earshot.
_

_
"Why? *sniff* Why?" I sobbed as I made my way to Uncle David's house.
'I need to calm down and relax'
I raised my hand to knock the door once I reached. Wait. I wiped my tears. Then, I knocked.
The door opened to reveal Uncle Sheild. He looked worn out. But when he saw me, his face brightened.
"Izuku, my boy! What brings you here?" He smiled. I smiled back.
"Just passin' by, Mr Sheild. How are you?"
"Come on, you can just call me Uncle. Come in!" he gestured.
I entered their house. Classic house they have. Even though he's obviously rich, Uncle Dave never shows off.
"Umm.. Is Melissa home?" I asked.
"Oh, she's at the lab, love. She'll be back later," said Mrs Sheild as she came in with drinks.
"Hi auntie!" I greeted her while she smiled back.
"So how you doing, Izuku?" asked Dave as he plopped down on the sofa beside me."Hey, what's this bruise?"
I quickly covered my wound.
"O-o-oh, i-it's nothing. Just f-fell down, heh" I smiled goofily. 'Man! I was sure I'd covered that!'
His expression turned grim."Kid, I've known you for a long time.
"I know when everything's all right and when it's not."
"I couldn't face him."U-uh, I-I," I began stuttering, one excuse after another.
But then I got tired of hiding and decided to tell him the truth. He was practically my father anyway.
'Should I tell himor not? If I do, he might go and consult mom & dad. If he does what will become of me?" I asked myself, or so I thought.
"Son, you do know you're mumbling, right?" Uncle David patted me."C'mon, you can trust me."
"Uhh... O-okay. I-I-I'll tell you. Itall started....." and so on.
All I could imagine was his blank expression before I opened my eyes. But when I did, he did the unexpected.
"Come, there's a great place around here I wanna show you," he gestured, picking up a bag as he smiled at me and walked out the door."You'll love it."
_

_
He didn't act surprised and go find Dad to give him a piece of his mind. I'd told no one besides Melissa.
I expected him to get mad and scold Izumi's gang. That's what Melissa had done, and they'd started to pick on her that day onwards.
"Wha-a?" I sat there dumbfounded, at his reaction.
"Time and tide wait for none, Izuku!" He shouted from outside.
I quickly shut my hanging mouth and followed him.
'I wonder where he'll take me?'
"This place good enough for ya?" Uncle Sheild asked as we made our way into an abandoned subway.
"Damn!" I exclaimed, eyeing the empty walls.
"I stumbled around here when I was roaming out," he said, finding a place to sit.
Then I frowned,"Wait. Why'd you bring me here?"
He simply smiled and passed me the bag he was carrying.
"Relieve your stress, kid.Do what you do best."
I opened the bag and saw "Spray cans!" Lots of them. "You're the best, Uncle Sheild!" I grinned.
Looking at the empty walls, I knew there was nothing holding me back.
So I went on and painted my talent all over the place. My graffiti.
I never tried to hide it , but only Uncle Dave and Melissa praised me for my art. Not that my 'friends' and 'family' noticed anyway.
By the time I was done, I was panting, but nevertheless, proud.
"Whoa!" David exclaimed."You really outdid yourself this time!"
We stood there, looking at the graffiti in awe.
"Okay, are you relieved?" he smiled.
Yes, yes. I was satisfied.
"Let's go, Uncle," I said, picking up my bag. By the look of his eyes, he was a bit surprised, but grabbed his bag all the same.
"Oh wait!" I ran and took out my phone in front of the now covered wall."Lemme snap a pic."
I set the filter and was putting up the focus.
Then, this really weird looking spider landed on my arm aand crawled up to my hand.
Befor I could react, the spider bit me, pouring its venom into my blood.

I smacked the spider and it fell to the ground. I never gave it a second thought.
"You comin', kid?" Uncle Dave called.
"Yeah!"
It was dark by the time we reached our homes.
We said goodnight and I left for my house, going straight to my room, ignoring the fact that I'd skipped dinner. 'They probably didn't even remember me'
I switched off the lights and went to bed, ignoring the pain my burns and bruises were giving me.
I'd pretty much grown used to it
End of Chapter-2
The next morning
*Yawn*
The green haired teen lay on his bed, half awake.
That was the best sleep he'd had in ages!
Beep,beep! Beep,beep!
His obnoxious alarm clock started beeping.
He raised his hand to punch it shut, like he always did, and brought his arm down on the snooze button. Smash!Clank!Spin, spin, spin, Plop!
The confused teen looked towards his clock, only to find it smashed under his hand. He quickly got up.
"What the hell...."he muttered buy was in fo a bigger surprise when he saw himself in the mirror.
"Whoa!" Aside from the fact that he was already ripped, thanks to all those years of hard work, all his bruises and burns, even the scars, had disappeared.
' That's why I slept so peacefully'
Izuku thought.
But before he could analyse things, he was interrupted by a knock on the door. Before he could answer, heck, even put his shirt on, Izumi barged in.
"Oi! Deku, you-" she stopped and blushed. She turned away."Just get dressed!" She shouted before getting out.
"Uhh..." Izuku just stood there."What was that about?"
"Why is there a voice in my head? And why am I talking to myself?"
"Why- Oh shit!" He exclaimed when he saw the time. He was late! He was yet to cook himself breakfast!
A few moments later
After a rushed shower and a couple of burnt toasts, our green head ran all the way to school. He had pretty much forgotten the events of the morning by now. In fact, he was in such a hurry that he didn't notice his increased speed.

"Izumi!" "Present!"
"Izuku!" *silence* "Izuku?" The teacher called again.
Just as he was about to mark him absent, "Present, sir!" Izuku came rushing through the door.
The whole class turned to the quirkless wonder.
"Mr Yagi, you are expected to be on time, do you understand?" "But sir, I-"
"No buts! Go to your seat."
He hung his head in shame while advancing towards his seat.
"Dumbass" Bakugo whispered as he passed by him. The ones around them snickered.
So, class went on like normal.
A couple periods later
"As growing wannabe's, you should choose your career carefully," the teacher announced as he picked up registration forms.
"But what use is it, when we all know you wanna be heroes!" He threw the sheets in the air. The class cheered.
"Yo, Sensei!" Bakugo jumped up on his desk."Don't dump me and my gang with these damn extra's!" He laughed.
"We're gonna get into UA, the top!"
The class protested, but af the same time pondered at his words. Of course, he was right. They were the top students, after all.
"Oh, wasn't Izuku gonna apply to UA as well?"
'**** you' Izuku thought.
"Pfft! Hahaha!" The class erupted in laughter."You can't get in just by studying!" They cackled.
"There's no rule stating I can't enroll!"
Izuku stut- spoke out loud.'Hey, what happened to my stammer?' he thought.
The class must've also noticed, because a few of them quieted down.
"Deku!" Bakugo yelled, advancing fiercely towards him, but an ice wall abruptly stopped him.
"S-stop!" whimpered .....Shoto?
Nah, it was Shoko.
Everybody was shocked. 'Why would Shoko stand up for quirkless Deku?'
The said person was no different.
'Well, that's new' he thought.
"Shoko...?" Bakugo was dumbfounded. But before anything could happen, the teacher broke them apart.
"Bakugo, sit down. Shoko, you're going to the principal's office for using your quirk,"said the teacher. Man, talk about unfairness.
"But I-I" -"No buts!"
"It's okay, Shoko" Izuku spoke up. "Thank you,"he smiled a bit.
Shoko's cheeks turned a slight , very slight tint of pink as she moved out the door.
Bakugo glared at Deku as he sat down.

At the end of class
Izuku was just packing his bag as he was preparing to leave. As he was doing so, something tingled I'm his ears. Before he knew it, he sensed the source of danger.
Bam!
He dodged to the side as Bakugo's fist collided with his desk.
"Shoko ain't here to save you now, nerd!"yelled Bakugo as he began throwing punch after punch at our Deku.
As for our hero, he was evading each hit smoothly. His tingle, or sense, predicted every move before it hit. He himself didn't know how he was doing it. He had to think things out, but first, he had to get himself out of this situation.
"Aargh!" Bakugo shouted as he wasn't able to get a hold on Deku.
While he was 'busy' with Deku, he didn't notice the whole class gathering around them.
"C'mon Bakugo! Smash him to a pulp!" The class cheered.
That just fired up his ego more, but his patience was running out.
Finally, unable to remain patient, he lost his cool and made an explosion directly aimed at Deku.
Blast!
Not that big, but not exactly small either.

The class cheered and laughed, as they waited for the smoke to clear up.
Katsuki was sure he'd got him this time, but the result wasn't what the class and him had anticipated. His eyes grew wide in shock.
They expected a beat and burnt up Deku, but there he was, standing in front of Bakugo, holding his wrist so the explosion didn't hit him.
_
_
_
Well, if Katsuki wasn't angry before, he was raging mad now. He raised his other hand to hit Izuku, and tried to wrench his wrist free from his grasp.
Tried to.
Unfortunately, for him, Deku wasn't gonna be his punching bag no more.
The class watched in awe as he twisted his arm and pushed him away.
As soon as Izuku made contact, he felt a spark escape his fingers.
The ash blonde got electrocuted and fell to the ground.
"S-Shitty Deku," he grumbled as he got up."What the hell have you been doing?!"
Man, Izuku was just as confused as everybody else. But he felt the tingle again, and jumped to evade Shoto's ice.
' I can't stay here' he thought as he grabbed his bag and ran out.
" Oi! Come back here!" The gang, excluding Shoko, followed in hot pursuit.

*Pant!*Pant!* Izuku came to a corner in the alley. He'd finally lost them. He rested his hand on the wall.
"Well, now to go home and get this shit sorted out," he said, moving out.
But something held him back.
His hand, it wouldn't leave the wall.
_
_
_
"Nngh!" Deku tried for the umpteenth time to 'unstick' his hand. Of course, it was in vain. Our hero was panicking.
'What's happening to me? Do I have any shit left?
"Okay, he sighed. "Let's think this rationally," he said, talking to himself.
Izuku finally calmed down and started to collect his thoughts. 'My bruises got healed, I have a tingle' and so on.
As he was doing so, his hand unsticked and came down. The teen was surprised, but relieved all the same.
"Whew!" He breathed out as he made his way to the house.
It was getting dark
At the Yagi household
Toshinori was extremely worried. He was stressed over the fact that Izuku now knew about his secret. The shitty person didn't know, or forcibly ignored that he'd failed as a dad.
Of course, like his wife, all he cared about was Izumi.
Izuku rushed to the house."I'm home!" He shouted as he made his way to his room.
"Hold it right there, young man!" Inko yelled. Izuku came to the living room, confused.
Well, oblivious to him, Izumi had told her parents that he had 'bullied' Bakugo in school.
"You are beyond insolent!" Inko scolded, blabbering on and on about all the false things Izumi had told her.
" Do you have anything to say for yourself?!" Izuku kept quiet.
At this point, he was boiling inside.
Izumi not just ruined his life, she wouldn't let him live either.
Then, Inko took the cane they always lashed him with. She hit him
Thwack! Thwack!
Izuku was trying to keep it cool. But when Inko raised the stick for a third time, he lost it.
"ENOUGH!" He shouted. Boom!
An energy blast erupted from him. Inko was thrown aback, shocked. Toshinori, who was at the door, lost his balance and fell. Izumi, hearing the boom, ran down.
Izuku was also surprised, but he was too angry to show it.
"Bastard," he muttered.
"Young man, that's no way to to your moth-" "SHUT UP!" He silenced All Might, who was considering changing into his hero form.
"SHE'S NOT MY MOTHER! NEITHER ARE ANY OF YOU MY FAMILY!"
There was a dreadful silence.
_
_
_
" Izuku,-" Toshinori started.
" You," Izuku glared at him. "I hate you the most."
"Hearing about your quirk was bad enough. But to think my own father was quirkless! Do you know how much pain I went through? To be quirkless, you know how it is, right?!"
This hit AM hard. Yes! Of course he knew how it was to be quirkless! To be trampled and stamped upon, an outcast.
In fact, it was one of the reasons Nana, his master, chose him as her successor. How could he have forgotten his roots?
Man, Nana would be turning in her grave right now.
"Son, I-I," he was at a loss for words.
"Don't call me that. I'm not your son, never was. My father was Hishashi Midoriya. I am Izuku MIDORIYA.
All of them were struck hard by this.
They started to recall everything. But before they could consult him, Izuku went up to his room.
He passed by Izumi, who was on the stairs.
"Izuku, I-I,-" "Shut up, bitch," he cut her off and slammed his door shut.
