The Hundred Tales

the discovery

Still confined to the four walls of his classroom, Alex writes and draws in a notebook with his deceased father's ink pen, which he has used for three years now. For the past two years he has been seeing a psychologist because of nightmares about his death. His father was a writer and inspired his son. The only thing his father gave him on his deathbed was one of his books, a pen and a journal so that he could become a famous writer and said to him, "The world of writing is bigger than you think. The day you enter this world of divine beauty you will understand these words. ". Every day he looks at this pen and reads what was engraved on it: "Writing with emotions, this is the power of a writer. ". The day his father left this world he promised on his tombstone to become a great writer of renown as he would have wished. The bell for the end of the course rang. When he got home Alex went to his room and continued to write. Every night he tries to finish the book with the hundred tales that his father used to write but he didn't have time to write the end of the last tale. These tales are precious to him because the last story in the book was a story of a father and son. Their stories. An unfinished story. Taken by surprise a discreet tear ran down a part of his right cheek and fell onto the pages of the book. Completely distressed by this situation he picked it up and blew on it. But the letters touched by the tear began to glow and those around them too in turn. Filling the room with a golden and sparkling light. This light shone much more brightly as it went on. Blinded by the light he closed his eyes. However after opening them. Alex found himself in a forest with a golden appearance. A place he had seen before. But it was not a place he had visited, but a place he had read about and imagined. Alex found himself in his father's book of a hundred tales. In the moment of panic he noticed that the book of a hundred tales was still in his left hand with the pen. To check, he compared the forest in the book to the forest in front of his eyes. Every detail was present. Surprised by the realization that he was actually in the book, he saw for a moment that the writing on his pen began to glow for a short time. He also heard a voice coming out of the forest that led to the forest path where Alex was.

-Who are you? Said a girl of the same age as him coming out of the forest.

-Who are you? he replied suspiciously.

-My name is Elizabeth. Answered and smiled the girl with pointed ears and the face of a gentle and kind person.

the usefulness of the pen

-Elizabeth? He remembered that his father had written a story about an Elizabeth. Strangely enough, he didn't remember the stories. He opened the book and saw that all the pages were blank. Elizabeth, where are we?

-We are in the word forest.

-What do you mean word forest?!

The word forest was a place he and his father had invented. An imaginary metaphorical place that helped him calm down as a child. But what he found strange was that the word forest had never been on paper. So how could he be there?

-Excuse me, but what's your name?" she said to Alexis who was in her thoughts.

-Oh yes. I'm sorry. My name is Alex. Answered he by giving him back his smile. A slightly forced smile.

-Well Alexis, why are you here? Humans don't usually hang out here and carry and use dragon pens.

How come? asked the young boy.

-We are in the elf kingdom and you have a dragon pen. explained the girl. Where are you from?

-From far away. Said Alex deflecting the question. Please continue.

-There are three kingdoms: the elf kingdom where you are right now, the human kingdom and the demon kingdom. Elizabeth explained to him. Each realm has objects that only their species can activate. The pen you have in your hand is a demonic pen called "the dragon pen" that belongs to the demons. It has the power to write magical runes. The object of the humans are cards that contain magical spells of incredible power called "blessed cards". Finally the elves have an elemental dagger called "the dagger of five". So I ask you again. Alex what are you doing and why are you carrying the demon pen of the demon race?

Looking for a good reason because there would be no logic in answering him that he comes from another world Alex saw the demon pen glowing again. For some reason he didn't know, a sign was formed on the book. It looked like a hieroglyph.

-Alex! Elizabeth exclaimed. Either you tell me what I want to know or I'll have to take you to the capital.

Not knowing this world, he explained everything she wanted to know so she wouldn't get in trouble.

-You were teleported to this forest?

-Yes, I was.

As he had expected, Elizabeth could hardly believe it. He looked for a way to prove it to her and thought that maybe the things he had made up in his head could probably be in this world. He tried something. He opened the book and took the pen and wrote "Alex now found himself with the eyes of a werewolf. Suddenly Alex saw a shadow mounted all over his body.

He dropped the book and found himself on the floor hiding his eyes and screaming in pain.

-Alex are you okay? Panicked Elizabeth took short running towards him but did not approach too suspicious of this brunette. The screaming stopped suddenly and the black smoke evaporated. The screams stopped suddenly. He stayed on the ground for a few moments, eyes still hidden, then got up, keeping his eyes closed. When Elizabeth opened them she saw that Alex's eyes were a bright blue color.

-Did it work? he asked. Did they change color?

disoriented

Elizabeth recoiled and fell to the ground being both frightened and astonished.

-The king of writers. she muttered.

-What did you say? I didn't hear.

-No, you didn't. So you really are from another world.

-Yeah.

-Then follow me. I'll take you to the elven realm and perhaps grant you an audience with the elf king of the cup realm.

-Thank you.

These two young characters left and arrived at the kingdom after an hour's walk.

-Welcome to the kingdom of the elves! Elizabeth exclaimed. Here you will find everything you need.

-Thanks again for helping me.

-No problem. Elizabeth said with a smile. Oh, I almost forgot to ask you.

-Ask what?

Elizabeth approached him and looked him in the eye with the utmost seriousness and asked: Alex, how far have you come?

He looked at her with a raised eyebrow and a little sideways laugh.

-What are you talking about? He said ignorantly.

-Levels are a way to know your current strength in this world. Are there no levels in your other world?

-No. How many levels does it have?

-Ten. The level of earth, ground, air, clouds, celestial, sun, moon, lords, divines and gods.

-How am I supposed to know what level I am on?

-Through magical artifacts that only the three great kingdoms of the greatest empire have: crystals.

-Crystals?

-These crystals have exactly ten levels inside them. One floor equals one level. Our weapons are allowed. Then we'll buy you a weapon.

-Okay.

When they arrived in a place crowded with people and merchants selling equipment such as armor, weapons and magical items, Elizabeth began to offer Alex lots of weapons. But as Alexander had said, he comes from another world. A world where this environment is from the past. This made him feel uncomfortable not to belong. But the moment the elf accompanying him showed him a blue sword a familiar feeling came over him. He assumed it was the marks engraved on it.

At the same time the pen began to flicker as if in the forest. A kind of instinct arose as if he had to have it.

-How much do you want for this sword!

-A silver coin.

Alex pulled out a quarter from his pocket.

-Are you kidding me? the old merchant man snarled.

Elizabeth interjected and paid the silver coin and left with Alex.

-What did you try to give that merchant?

-At my house the only silver coins are very small amounts of money like the coin from earlier.

-I thought you already understood. You're not home anymore. Elizabeth said, slightly annoyed.

-I'm sorry.

She looked at him with her lost and intimidated look. She then decided to let it go.

-It doesn't matter. Tell me what was different about this sword than the ones I offered you.

-Nothing very special. My pen was glowing so I took it.

Elizabeth didn't know why, but she was suspicious of the pen.

-I see. Anyway, here we go. We'll see your level and go to the capital. Direction: the level crystals.
