"You will be my princess alright?! Once we're old enough I'll come find you in Tokyo and marry you~!"

"But I'm a guy! Shouldn't I be a prince?"

"Ehhh I'm already the prince so of course you'll be my princess!!"

"I bet you'll just forget about this but you promise alright?"

"Yup!! Shin-chan will be my bride!"

It was a childish promise but Shinichi held that close to his heart, even though he knows that the boy in his memories will never be able to fulfill that promise. As years passed by, he gradually forgot the identity of the boy but he can still remember the promise that was made clearly. Soon, that memorable summer with the mysterious boy ended and 15 years had passed by without meeting one another other than that day.

"Ya really scary ya know, Kudo. Megure-keibu must've been right, yer probably cursed or somethin'! I mean, we just went out for 5 minutes and a case landed in front of yer feet, literally I might add!"

"Baro (idiot),  things such as curses doesn't exist and I only just happened to stumble upon them alright? Pure coincidence!" Shinichi protest as he looked blankly at the Osaka detective, who still didn't believed that he's not curse, beside him as they made their way back to his house after solving a murder case near the Cafe they were just in earlier. After graduation, Shinichi had became busier than ever since he had officially became a private detective and already has his own agency in Tokyo. 

His time as Edogawa Conan ended when they successfully took down the Black Organization 4 years ago and was able to make an antidote that'll permanently return him back to being Kudou Shinichi. Of course he didn't do it alone, his fated rival, Kaitou Kid, helped along with the FBI and CIA. It was all over the news about how the Phantom Thief helped that his charges were put aside, It is also revealed how he helped but as Kudo Shinichi. It wasn't revealed to the public about how he shrunk into a child; he only told Ran, his childhood friend, the Detective Boys, and a few of his close friends that he made as Edogawa Conan.

Despite the Black Organization being taken down and being back to his old life, he still feels like something is missing.. something he missed as Edogawa Conan and doesn't mind doing it until now. Yes, it was his time with a Phantom Thief under the moonlight, Kaitou Kid. The thrill he feels whenever he decodes a note Kid sent, the adrenaline of chasing him down and their usual duo on top of the rooftop, and sometimes giving each other a hand when one of them are in danger and even worked together a few times in some dangerous cases. He had to admit, sometimes he enjoys their small conversations, it feels like he got to talked with the person under the identity of Kaitou Kid, it's never personal but.. he had fun.

"Thinkin' about that Thief again aren't ya? Kudo." Heiji snapped him back to reality as he gave the Osaka Detective a look. Even if Shinichi denies it, Heiji knew who's currently occupying his mind. The distant look on his face, his eyes wandering around when he caught a glimpse of something white, he knows that the detective missed the phantom thief. He doesn't really care if his best friend likes guys, I mean as he says Love is Love, whatever the gender is though it's still not confirm if his best friend had fallen for the thief.

"Ya don't need to deny it ya know, it's already been...how long? 4 years since the last ya saw each other." 

"It's not that I want to think about him, he just...suddenly pops out of my mind out of nowhere.." Shinichi mutters as he sighed. It was bothering him whenever he thinks of Kid, is he alright? did he obtain the jewel he's looking for or did he gave up since the organization doesn't exist anymore? Will he.. meet him again?.. It was really out of character how the thief he used to chased around is now the only thing he thinks about. Did he perhaps harbor some feelings for the thief even if its just an infatuation? Possible. 

Distracted with his thoughts, he didn't realized how Heiji keeps glancing behind them. Far from them hiding behind a post, was a guy discreetly following them with a cap hiding his face. 

"It's obvious that ya want us to sense yer presence, whoever ya are."

"It's really unlike you to get into an accident like that Shinichi!"

"I wasn't paying attention, I'm sorry for making you worried, Ran." He muttered as he looked away from his childhood friend. After a few days from solving a case with Heiji, another case made its way to the detective. It was only a simple case about finding a missing person.

During the case he was sure he felt a familiar presence when he was gathering information for the missing son of the couple. It was only for a few seconds but he is certain.. it was his beloved Phantom Thief. He knows that he should focus on the case rather than have his personal affairs be involved but he just couldn't let this slide. He looked everywhere from the streets to the back alleys but the presence already disappeared, he felt disappointed but it was soon replaced when he felt a dangerous vibe behind him. 

"How can I not worry when you got stabbed?!" Ran shouted. Ever since Shinichi revealed everything about the organization and his sudden disappearance, she couldn't helped but be worried sick for him. Yeah it's been years since that incident took place but what if there's still someone out there who wants to take her childhood friend's life? It's still bothered her that he went through all of that without her knowing, he has been by her side but she couldn't do anything to give him a hand. 

Noticing the frown on Ran's face, he smiled softly, placing his hand on her head as he patted her head. Spending his time with Ran as Conan really changed his feelings towards her from romantic to that of a sibling. When he told Ran about this she felt the same way even without knowing back then that he's Edogawa Conan, her feelings for Shinichi slowly changed. 

"I'm fine, it's not that severe he only managed to stabbed my shoulder, nothing fatal alright? Even the doctor said so." 

"But you could've die from bleeding if Hattori-kun didn't made it to the scene in time." Ran protest. Well she was right at that part. Heiji arrived at the alley 20 minutes after he got stabbed, he already loss quite an amount of blood and didn't have the strength to call for help. Apparently the guy who stabbed him was the guy he was looking for, the son of the client was actually doing drugs and the reason why he ran away from home was because the maid found his stash. He misunderstood the presence of the detective and got scared that he might end up in jail and fortunately, his sanity returned back after seeing Shinichi injured in front of him. When the parents found out, they didn't have a second thought and handed him over to the police to repent for his illegal doing and for assaulting the detective of the east. 

It all ended well but now that his left arm is currently in an arm sling and need some time for healing, he was forced to rest and take a day off. As much as he wanted to refuse, Ran was there to make sure he rest so he didn't have any choice, either he rest or he'll end up breaking an arm or two from a certain someone. 

Shinichi and Ran talked for awhile and once it got dark, Shinichi sends her off. Seeing the bright smile on her face with the guy she currently goes out with made Shinichi smiled. If his feelings for her didn't changed, maybe they would've already gotten married and such but it doesn't mean he regretted letting her go for his feelings completely changed, he just feels.. lonely. Frowning, he looked up to the bright full moon in the sky. Remembering a bittersweet past he wished he can go back to but as him and not in the body of a child. 

"Ya love him don't ya?" The voice behind him made Shinichi startled, quickly turning around to see his dark skinned friend grinning at him like an idiot. 

"I don't know what you're talking about. Why are you even here? It's already late and you don't want to make Kazuha worried now do you-" He stopped when he saw the expression on Heiji changed. Did they had a fight again? They had been fighting a lot recently so it's no surprised if he's here this late. 

Shinichi sighed as he leads the way back inside the mansion making Heiji grinned once more while wrapping his arm around the detective's shoulder thanking him, completely forgetting about his injury as Shinichi quickly hissed in pain while pushing Heiji away, hard. This idiot is a bother as always but it's better than sleeping alone in this huge place, Shinichi thought as he stopped glaring at Heiji. 

As they head for the front door with Heiji apologizing, a white paperplane caught their attention landing in front of them. Looking at each other confused as to who will make a paperplane this late at night, Shinichi suddenly remembered a case related to a paperplane with a Morse Code in it. He quickly grabbed it but since he can only use one hand, he handed it to the detective next to him. Heiji helped out and what's written on the paper made him grinned wider than before making Shinichi nervous as to why this friend of his is showing such a ridiculous grin. 

"Someone has a date at Ekoda~"

"The time has come. Once my dear metantei has fully healed, please come to Ekoda. I'll leave a clue for you to decode. Please do get well soon."  -Kaitou Kid Sign

Reading the note Kid left last night again and again made Shinichi both excited and anxious. So it wasn't a dream after all... well Heiji did teased him for hours when they read the note but he still couldn't believe it. Its already been 4 years since the last time he saw the magician, after taking down the Black Organization Kaito Kid disappeared. He was too busy after returning back to his original body that perhaps Kid didn't want to bother him,  Shinichi thought that it's for the best but deep down he knows, he wished he could've at least say goodbye before disappearing on him like that. Yes they were only rivals but he did share a great bond with him, whether its during a heist or a case they're working together with. 

"A detective like me falling for a phantom thief like you, how ironic." Shinichi whispered under his breath. As he continues to stare at the note while laying down on the sofa of his library, Heiji and Ran watched from the slightly opened door, both worried for their dear friend's soon reunion with his beloved Kid. Ran already has an idea on another reason why Shinichi's feelings for her completely changed, she already has a hunched that someone stole his heart without the detective himself noticing it but who would've thought the phantom thief was the one who captured Shinichi's heart? Though there is something that's been bothering her for awhile.

"How about the boy he meet 15 years ago?" Ran whispered gaining the attention of the Osaka Detective next to her.

"What do ya mean by that??"

"Uhm.. you see.."

[Flashback]

(Elementary Year)

"Ehh?! There is someone already waiting for you? Like couple?"

"What are you saying? We're not dating! There's just.. a promise that was made so.. maybe kind of like that?"

Seeing the blushed on Shinichi's face was a rare sight for Ran, especially when all the boy had shown was being arrogant and acts like an adult. If someone else sees his expression, anyone can tell that the boy he spokes of is very special to him. Is it possible to be this attached to someone who is far away? Maybe.

"Then does that mean you like him? Like Otou-san(father) and Okaa-san(mother)?"

"B-Baro I don't know!... why are you asking me that anyway?" 

Hmm.. she doesn't know either, maybe because she wants to know more about the cause of Shinichi showing a different side of his when it comes to the boy he meet?

"Ho~ so that idiot already meet someone before. Then? Did they meet each other again like back in middle school or high school?" Heiji asked curiously. If there was already someone who's waiting to take his heart away, why did he let a thief have it instead? Wait.. could it be that-

"He already forgot. A little before middle school, he slowly forgot about the boy in his childhood. I never asked anymore since the last time we talked about it he got pretty upset." Ran said while glancing at the already sleeping detective. During those times when she asked about the past, Shinichi would either act defensive when an affection was involved in the conversation regarding the boy or act like he didn't care much but when she asked again when they're nearing their elementary graduation, his responds changed.

" 'Can you please stopped talking about the past? It was just a childish promise, we were young back then...' That's what he said then after that I never once tried to mentioned it again."

This got Heiji thinking, to a 5 years old Kudo it may have been a promise he truly believed on but as he gets older he might have realized something. Lose of hope from waiting? A childish promise as he said so? Or perhaps the fear of questioning ones own sexuality? He might've started getting confused and fear got to him that he decided to forget about the boy, and what's more painful is that he finally accepts it now but had completely forgotten about the promise. 

"Even Kudo has something he's afraid of huh? It must've been hard for him back then... I wonder who that boy is though."

Weeks went by, Shinichi's wound has fully healed and already on the train going from Tokyo to Ekoda. Holding the code Kid had left him, it mentioned about a place in Ekoda,

and after decoding it his destination was revealed. Once seeing the place he had to go to, he couldn't helped but smiled seeing how he was right. 

"To think my hunched is right, Kaitou Kid... or should I say Kuroba Kaito of Ekoda High School." Shinichi whispered as he looked out of the train window, seeing that the Ekoda Station is already close, he got up from his seat and standby the door. Once the train door opens, he went out and headed to Ekoda High. 

The more he sees the school up ahead, the more anxious he's becoming. Will he still be the same as before? Will he finally see a new side of Kid as his persona without hiding behind Kaitou Kid's mask? Who knows.. Looking around, he was taken aback when memories from the past flashes in front of his eyes. It wasn't clear but he could still managed to make out what's been shown. Two small children around 5-6 years old are running passed him, giggling. It was him and some boy he doesn't recall, as far as he remembers the first friend he had ever had was Ran. Who... is he? Once the memory fades away, he snapped back to reality when he caught a glimpse of a white piece of paper hidden under the white railing. 

Taking the paper out, he opened it up to see a code. This made him chuckled as it reminded him of how the first Kaitou Kid gave him a code and dragged Ran and Professor Agasa to go around solving it. Like father like son, he thought. Leaning on a tree trunk, he solved the code after a minute passed by and headed to the next place.

"The very first time we met was actually here isn't it?" He said to himself as he looks up at the clock tower in front of him. The place where their first duel together happened as Kaitou Kid and Kudo Shinichi. At first, he forgot about the events that took place here since he wasn't really interested with thieves but Kid was an exception. He remembered that faithful day when he started getting more involved with Kaitou Kid as the Kid Killer during his time as Edogawa Conan. Fate seems to want them to crossed path wherever they go and as cue, a memory hidden deep in Shinichi's heart was shown.

"It's a promise alright? Don't forget about it or I won't forgive you!"

"Hai hai, I'll be going now so.. see you soon?.."

"I'll come find you in Tokyo in the future so wait for me, Shin-chan!"

It was the same kids he saw back at the school, like before, he still couldn't make out on who's the boy. His eyes were cast in a shadow but he could see a resemblance with the way the child grins at him.. C-could it be?

"It's... not impossible right? " Shinichi quickly looked around to find the next code for him to decode and seeing a pole with an outline of a paper, he quickly peel it off and once he saw the code he immediately know where it is. 

"Shinjuku Gyoen."

How could he let this happen? That faithful summer, the promise, him..  He must've finally lost it when he heard those words back then huh? And just when he finally forgot about it, the price to pay was him..

[Flashback]

During this time, Shinichi is 8 years old and was still in touch with him through letters. He didn't mentioned this to Ran since he doesn't want her pestering him about the content of the letters. It's not like there was something that's in the letter that needs to be kept a secret, he just didn't want to share this precious moment with someone else. He even hid the fact that they're exchanging letters but of course he could never fully hide it from his dear parents. 

Getting the mail outside of the Kudo residence, he overheard the conversation a couple of ladies are having while they passed by.

"Have you heard? Our previous neighbor actually has a gay son!"

"Oh dear! Is that why they moved out last week?"

"Yes, apparently the son was seeing someone in his class and the teachers caught them kissing!"

"I feel bad for their parents, I hope the Lord will forgive this sinful act of theirs."

Something in Shinichi sparked when he heard their chattering. He felt furious that they think that being gay is a sin but he also felt afraid.. Is he.. also gay? No it can't be! He knows that he's attracted to girls-

"Shin-chan!"

...Oh. There's an exception. Kuroba-

"Kaito.." 

Staring at the letter he's holding with the boy's name on the back, he couldn't helped but be terrified. Now that he finally realized it, what will happened to him? What will happened if Kaito finds out that he's attracted to him? Will he also be disgusted? What will his parents think? Will they disown him? 

"I feel bad for their parents"

"I hope the Lord will forgive this sinful act"

".... I'm sorry."

Shinichi run as soon as he arrives at the park, seeing the cherry blossom around him, remembering the nostalgic memories, he frantically looked around to try to caught a glimpse of a wild haired male around his age but there was no one resembling him. There must be another code to solve in order to find him. Panting as he caught his breathe, he slowly calm himself as he takes a sit on a nearby bench.

"Calm yourself, you wouldn't be able to find him like this."

Finally calmed, he looks around once more. This was the very first time they meet 15 years ago when they were still young. Feeling a smile forming onto his face as he remembers the memory, It was during a family outing when he bumped onto a child around his age, wild haired, indigo eyes and a cute grinned on his face. Both parents were surprised on how they look like each other and it seemed like their parents were already acquaintance back then. 

"After that you keep pestering me like a lost puppy, Kaa-san felt bad that we ended up staying in Ekoda for awhile." 

"That's a mean way to put it like that, Shin-chan~"

Startled, Shinichi stood up and looked behind him to see the person he had been looking for all his life. He had grown so much but he still looked the same as before with those indigo eyes of his that can see through anything and those wide teasing grinned that he missed seeing. Shinichi can feel his face heating up and tears forming on the side of his eyes when the magician came closer to him. The impact of seeing Kaito after so long and realizing that he was his Promise Boy as well as Kaitou Kid made his chest tight yet warmth. 

"How have you been, Metantei?"

"K-Kaito-"

His words were cut off when he was pulled in Kaito's embraced. His voice, his scent , his touch.. He missed them all. Hugging the magician back tightly while staining his shirt with the tears he couldn't hold back anymore, Kaito chuckled lightly as he pats his dear metantei's head softly, ignoring the fact that tears are also already forming on the corner of his eyes.

"I found you, Shin-chan."

"Yeah.. You found me, Kaito."

[Back at the Kudo Residence]

"Ain't this what they call tsundere?" Heiji asked himself with his brow twitching upon reading the letters Shinichi forgotten to sent to Kaito as a child which where kept hidden in a box that was forgotten for how many years. 

"WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE YOU DOING,HATTORI HEIJI?!!!"

"Yikes the devil has returned- OUCH!! HEY THAT HURTS- Oh ya brought yer boyfriend with ya- OUCH!! NO MORE!!"

"You're still as lively as ever, Shin-chan- OKAY JUST KIDDING, DROP THE CHAIR!!"

It wasn't supposed to go this deep, his feelings for him should remain the same but day by day all he thinks about is him. His dear Metantei. At first, he was only fascinated by his intelligence, to be able to see through the heart of others and solve even one of the most impossible case, now that he can't see him anymore? His feelings for him grew deeper, that smile of his when he finally figured things out, his irritated gaze when he fails to catch him, as well as the genuine smile he had shown the magician for the first and last time.

"You should quickly find what you're looking for, Kid."

"Heh~, this is new! Has Metantei finally grown tired of me? That-"

"It's not that. I know behind that mask lies an innocent person who's trapped with Kaitou Kid's duty. I don't know why you have to go to this extent to find it but I do wish you'll find it soon. Maybe we can meet outside of a heist for once? Hangout, talk to each other without the need to hide any personal information. Just.. us. No more secrets."

"...You sound like you're in love with me Metantei~! Ahhh, I nearly fell for that, you really have to be careful especially when you're still in a child's body or I might try to steal your heart instead."

"...Do as you wish."

It took him aback when he heard those words, not to mentioned giving him such a smile that for the first time in awhile he let his poker face down. Who knew that it'll also be the last time he'll see that kind of expression on the detective before he suddenly gone missing. 

"Where are you, Metantei.." He whispered in the air of the lonely night while sitting on top of a skyscraper, looking at the beautiful view of Tokyo with a jewel in hand.

Glancing at the jewel, he wonders. He already got Pandora but why doesn't he feel like celebrating? Oh right, he did get the jewel but he still didn't get that. Laughing, he stands up then spread his arms.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Kaitou Kid's show has finally come to an end. The curtains shall now be closed, for eternity."

"You're really going to Tokyo University? But I thought you'll be going somewhere in Osaka?"

"Well It's too far away and I know that you'll miss me so why not stay somewhere close- Ouch! I was just kidding geez!"

2 years had already passed ever since he had retired as Kaitou Kid and at the same time his Metantei's disappearance. He tried everything to know his whereabouts but to no avail, there is no information that states where he is. It's like he had disappeared in thin air without a trace, he already suspect that the Organization that he's been hiding from finally caught him but it was taken down a week before Con- no, Before Shinichi disappeared. In the end, he had to give up the search and wait for a miracle to happen. 

"You Alright, Kaito?" Aoko's voice snapped him back to reality quickly grinning widely at her. Poker face, poker face-

"Is there something that's been bothering you for awhile?"

"Kuso(Shit).."

"I'm just starvinggg, anyway are we there yet?"

Aoko said that she'll be treating Kaito when she found out that a cafe opened up not far away from the Ekoda train station. For some reason the name of the cafe is Bourbon & Rye, which is weird for a cafe to have an alcohol based name. 

Up ahead, he finally saw the sign of the cafe which made his stomach growl for real this time when he smelled the freshly baked lemon pie. How ironic to smell his metantei's favorite dessert when he's trying so hard not to think of him. Aoko got excited when she saw the cafe that she grabbed the magician's arm dragging him in, upon entering the bell chime.

"Irasshaimase!" A man with dark skinned and blonde hair greeted them with a gentle smile.

"Yikes! It's that guy from the Bell Tree Express Train! "

Tooru Amuro or his real name, Furuya Rei. After taking down the Black Organization, he decided to resigned from the PSB (Public Security Bureau) and lived a normal life with Akai Shuuichi (who continued being in the FBI) who finally revealed himself to be alived. It was quite shocking when their relationship was revealed since they never really get along well.

Seeing the observant gaze Amuro is giving him, he suddenly got nervous but of course his poker face never failed him before(except when a certain someone is mentioned) as he grinned at Amuro, making a red rose appear in hand. Rei only hummed as a respond then took the rose before smiling at them again.

"I see you're a magician. Hmmm, then you must be Kuroba Kaito?"

"Wow how did you know?!"

"And you must be, Nakamori Aoko." 

Kaito is starting to be suspicious of Amuro, knowing who they are and seeing how dangerous he is during their first encounter while fulfilling Shinichi's favor is making him cautious. As he continues to stare at the blonde haired guy in front of him, he suddenly senses a very dangerous vibe behind him causing him to turn around to see a black haired guy with pale skin. 

"You're blocking the way, take a seat if you're going to order something."

"Akai don't be rude to our customer! And we just opened so they're our first customer." 

"Hoooo~ So they're the owner huh?"

It wasn't so bad after all. After talking with Amuro and Akai they seemed nice, maybe because they never really had a great first impression that he thought he was a bad guy but now he can rest assure that they're safe to be around with. Not only that but based from the way they interact with each other, they surely are in a relationship. 

"Ahh I'm full! Let's head back there sometimes~"

"Ugh I think I rather not if I'm the one paying, you nearly ate everything that's on the menu!"

Kaito only snickered at her protest while they continue to walked back to their home. It was already getting dark and they still had to walked for 15 minutes until they can reach their district. The comfortable silent around them was broke when Aoko suddenly asked him something that he thought she'll never ask again.

"Do you still like him?" Aoko asked as she looked at Kaito who didn't seemed to be taken aback from her question. It's been on her mind for quite a long time ever since Kaito admitted that he likes someone else.

"Aoko I don't want to get your hopes up so I'm gonna say it, I.. don't like you. Not anymore. I found someone else, he's.. really one of a kind. He's someone who's prepare to take any risk even if it means risking his life just to protect the people around him, someone who wouldn't hesitate and bring the truth out to light-"

"H-He?.."

"...Yeah, I'm sure that I used to be straight but... when I met him I know for a fact that he's the one."

It took awhile before Aoko could accept it but in the end, she fully supports Kaito with his feelings for the guy he had fallen in love with. However, he had never really mentioned who the guy is, whether is it someone they know or Kaito just really didn't want to tell about the guy's identity. 

"Of course I still do, in fact as time goes by I think I'm falling for him even more. Even though it's been 2 years since the last time I saw him, my feelings never really change." 

His words were full of love and the way he says it is really gentle, which is really a surprised for Aoko. For a guy who likes to fool around and mess with her all the time, this side of his is really new to her. So this is how he's like when he's in love huh? Aoko thought. She only smiled as the comfortable silent surrounds them again, guess she really needs to move on from him completely or she'll just end up hurting herself.

"You better make him happy once you two meet again, Bakaito."

"Is it true?! You really saw Kudou Shinichi around here?!"

"Y-yeah, at first I wasn't sure since he was wearing a cap but when I said his name without thinking he turned to my direction so I'm positive that it's him"

While Kaito was busy moving in his new apartment in Beika City, he overheard two girls talking about seeing the detective of the east while he was moving some boxes. Despite the detective not being around, he's still well known especially when the media found out that he helped taking down the Black Organization. According to the girls, they saw him around the area, as if trying to find something since he's been glancing around here and there.

"Is it possible that he's being pursued by someone? But who and why? Is that the reason why he suddenly disappeared in 2 years?"

After thanking the girls, Kaito resumed to lift his stuffed back inside but before he could stepped inside, he suddenly felt a pain on the back of his neck taking him by surprised.

"What the-"

Turning around, there was a man pointing some sort of gun at him but he couldn't clearly tell what it is since his vision has started to blurred. Trying to think of a way to escaped, everything went black as he felt someone's arms catching him.

"Don't blame me! Yer the one who told me to do it!"

"Mattaku (Really now),I only told you to bring him here and didn't I clearly stated to only use that watch if it didn't went according to plan?"

"Ahh urusai (shut up)! I ain't gonna act friendly around him so I used it to make things easier!"

The loud noises around slowly woked the sleeping magician on the couch causing the people in the room to stopped arguing and focus their gazed on the person they once know as 'The Magician Under The Moonlight', Kaitou Kid. They really don't have a reason to meet and talked to him but since it's about their beloved detective friend, his fated rival has the right to know about Shinichi's current condition.

Kaito slowly sat up while rubbing his aching neck from sleeping the wrong way, looking around the room he finally saw the detective of the west, Hattori Heiji, and the scientist who's still in the body of a child, Haibara Ai.

"W-what's going on?" Kaito asked, confused on what business they had with him when he long stopped being the phantom thief- wait, how did they even found out about his identity? 

Haibara seems to noticed the confused gaze Kaito is giving to them so she did the honor of explaining everything to the magician.

"Before we get to the point, we are not here to hand you over to the police nor to even reveal your identity to them, all we want is for you to listen to our request in hopes that you'll help us." The serious tone in her voice made Kaito had a really bad feeling about this. Something he never once imagine nor even want to hear from someone's mouth, he must've been dreaming but.. the loud thumping of his heart is enough to confirmed that this is reality.

"Kudo-kun lost his memories."
