Chapter 1 - Unlucky First Day
Celine stands infront of the school gate.
Celine
First day in a new school... hopefully people won't find me boring again.
Celine is known to be a nerd in her previous school.
She never had any friends. Most people don't find her interesting because of her nerdy interests.
Celine

she enters the school feeling optimistic on her first day.
as she walks towards her class she hears a crowd of screaming girls at the hallway

geez... what's this about?
she can't get to her class because of the people crowding the hallway.
she rolls her eyes and tries to get through.

Damnit! Don't people have classes?!
she squeezes herself through the horde of people.
she doesn't even know what the others are so excited about and she couldn't care less.
as she finally got through, she accidentally bumps into someone.
the guy she bumps into scoffs.
Asher
purposely bumping into me to get my attention aye?
she blink several time in disbelief.
Asher
look, I don't have time. you've already got a little amount of my attention so you can go now.
he gives her a insincere smile.
Celine
(who does this guy think he is?)
celine was boiling in anger. she has never met someone so arrogant as this guy.
the crowd of girls cheer his name.

AHHHHH!! ASHER YOU'RE SO HANDSOMEEE!!!

ugh! that girl is such an attention seeker...

yeah! how dare she waste asher's time! he doesn't deserve to talk to this loser!

celine clenches her fists as she listens to people gossiping about her.
she picked up a soda can that was laying on the floor and threw it at Asher's head.

do you really think I'd go out my way to seek attention to a guy like you?

the only thing that's good about you is that pretty face of yours in which won't last long!

I wouldn't want to get attention from an asshole like you!

I have better things to do than waste my precious time on you.
Celine scoffs and walks away, heading to class.

omg! the nerve of her!!
the hallway was now filled with loud voices gossiping.
Asher stood there embarrassed and angry. no one dared to mess with Mr popular
he rolls his eyes and walked away
celine sat there banging her head on the desk

(why did I do that?!)

(I've never been that bold in my life!)
celine was used to keeping her thoughts to herself than letting it out
she has never stood up for herself, she has always stayed quiet no matter what

(now everyone's going to hate me...)
she sighs as she buried her face in her arms.
she could hear people gossiping around her
she could feel hot tears threatening to fall down on her face

why do I always screw up...
suddenly the room turned quiet
celine looked up to see why the room suddenly turned silent
a boy with an intimidating aura walked in

(is he mister popular too?)
even though the entire room was silent she could still see girls fangirling quietly

(I have enough of these so called "popular" guys)
Celine
(it's best not to mess with him. I don't want any more fangirls to gossip about me)
the guy then suddenly approaches her
he lightly kicks her chair

(oh great... another asshole...)
Celine
(I don't want anymore gossips about me, might as well give in...)
she stood up and gives him a small glare
she then went to the only seat available which is right next to him
she groans, she ruffles her hair in annoyance.
the teacher then comes in
Ms Lyn
I will be introducing a new student in our class
Ms Lyn
please come infront and introduce yourself
celine slowly stood up from her seat and walks infront

hi.. my name's Celine Ray and I'm 18 years old. I moved to this school because of my parents' work and I hope I'd get along with you guys..
no one seemed interested in her introduction. others were talking and some were doing something else.
celine looked down in disappointment

I heard that you were top in your school Miss Ray! I seen that you've received many academic awards which is very impressive!
the teacher smiles sweetly at her

we are glad that you decided to move here Miss Ray! Thank you for your introduction. You can go back to your seat now.
celine went back to her seat
the teacher started discussing but no one was listening, they all were doing their own thing
the guy from earlier was sleeping
Ms Lyn notices that everyone wasn't listening and demands the class to stop what they're doing and listen
only one person didn't budge
it was the guy next to her
Damien looks up still feeling sleepy
he doesn't seem scared of the teacher

if you're not going to listen to my class you can just-
he then turns to leave without waiting for the teacher to finish
Damien was always a troublemaker
however he wasn't always like this
he used to be one of the top students in school but he started to change
his grades dropped and his teachers don't know why
it's now finally lunch time
celine heads to the cafeteria and takes out the lunch that her mother made for her.
no one wanted to sit with her. everyone that passes by her gives her a disgusted look
then suddenly someone went up to her table
he sat there infront of her without saying any words
before she could say anything he spoke first

all the seats were taken. don't start a conversation with me I'm not interested in talking to you right now
she rolls her eyes and continued eating
Damien
so you're the new girl huh?
Celine
I thought you said you don't want to start a conversation
Damien
I don't want YOU to start a conversation but doesn't mean I can't
Celine
well I don't want to talk to you either!
Damien
well aren't we already having a conversation right now?
Celine
shut up or I'll shove that spoon to your throat
she grits her teeth in anger and stood up and packed her things
Chapter 2 - The Bet
asher sat in his chair still frustrated and angered at how celine treated him
Erin
yo bro, are you alright?
he doesn't look convinced
Erin
it's that girl, isn't?
Asher
I've never had anyone especially a girl treat me like that no matter what I do!
Erin
well so much for being mr playboy
Erin
I bet you can't make her fall for you
asher starts to laugh loudly like it's the funniest joke he has ever heard

seriously erin? there's no girl that can resist this

she'll fall for me eventually, they all do! they just play hard to get so they can get more attention from me

what are we betting here?

if you manage to sleep with her, I'll give you my cousin's phone number
Asher
holy shit! she's hot!

judging by her looks and attitude she's definitely never been in a relationship so it'll be easy to get in her pants

I'll give you three months to get her sleep to sleep with you
asher walked out of his classroom and went to find what class celine is in
he couldn't find her anymore

before he could turn around to leave he bumped into someone
he looked up to see who bumped into him
as he sees that the person who bumped into him was damien, he groans in annoyance

both of them turn their heads and walked away
the two don't have any personal grudges against each other, they just don't get along
they're complete opposites which explains their constant bickering everytime they meet
they were never close, they barely talk. there are rumors that say they're mortal enemies but the truth is that they just simply don't wanna get along
the clouds start to turn grey, it's going to rain soon
celine was sitting in a park bench reading
she takes out her umbrella
the rain starts to fall little by little and then more started to fall faster
as she was about to walk away, someone ran behind her and was now sharing the umbrella with celine
it was damien, he panted heavily from all that running
celine looked at him, flustered at his sudden appearance
before she could say anything he spoke
she looks at him up and down clearly noticing that he's wet

and you were the only one I knew here with an umbrella
Celine
(it would be rude if I just ran off leaving him wet)
Celine
where are you headed then?
Damien
just drop me off at the closest convenience store
she nods and they both walk off
Damien
gosh you're short...
she rolls her eyes in annoyance
Celine
well I can't change that but do you know what can be change? your attitude
Damien
such a sharp tongue

you aren't holding the umbrella properly

he grabs the handle which both of their hands touch
the sudden warmth of his hand flustered her
she slowly removes her hand from the handle and lets him hold it instead

so.. why are you going to a convenience store?
Damien
to buy an umbrella obviously
Damien
I wouldn't want you to walk me all the way to my house
Celine
well I just thought you'd go to a bus stop or something
Damien
it'd be too far besides the nearest store is just a few blocks away
Celine
(is he worrying about me or-)
she immediately snaps back into reality

(no no no stop it celine! stop overthinking!)
they now have arrived at a convenient store

well thanks for the "ride" I guess.. or walk or whatever you call it
they both stared at each other awkwardly before parting ways
Chapter 3 - The Project
celine is sitting quietly in her chair reading
suddenly the class started to get noisy

(can't I just get peace and quiet for once?)
she huffs in annoyance and plugs her earphones on
as she was now reading her book peacefully, someone approaches her
he takes off the left part of the earphone off her ear
she looks at him, annoyed
she couldn't believe her ears
the guy was still arrogant as ever

shouldn't I be the one to decide whether to forgive you or not?
Asher
what ever makes you happy sweetie
he gives her his signature smile that girls would go crazy for
but no celine, she was only disgusted
Asher
as a token of my apology, I'll let you have lunch with me for 3 months
Celine
it'd be vomiting instead if I'd be eating with you
asher still tries to remain calm and lets out another smile
Asher
I wouldn't want to see you get sick
he bends down to her level and leans closer to her
Asher
what about I walk you home?
Asher
it was really wrong of me to do that. I was thinking about what I did and I really regretted it. I was planning on apologizing to you but I messed it up again. I didn't know how to approach you.
Asher
I am sincerely sorry for how I treated you. please just let me make it up to you
the way his eyes look at her looks sincere to her
Celine
(maybe he really just wants to apologize.. it wouldn't be hard to just walk to my house, it's just a couple blocks near school)
he gives her a charming smile
Asher
thank you for giving me a chance, I really just feel guilty about what I did
Celine
well you've apologized now and I appreciate that
he gives her one more sweet smile and leaves
she turns her head to Damien's seat

(did he get sick or something? he did get wet from the rain yesterday..)
the belle has now rang and class is about to start
she sees that the only seat empty is damien's

let's start our discussion
as the teacher was in the middle of her discussion someone comes in the classroom without saying a word
he walks straight to his seat

Mr Cohen, what is your excuse of being late?
the teacher rolls her eyes
Ms Lyn

Damien
whatever, then don't believe me
the teacher furrows her eyebrows

detention after class Mr Cohen!
Damien doesn't seem fazed

(it seems like he's used to this..)
few minutes later the teacher's discussion has almost come to an end

before I end this class I have an announcement to make

you will be having a major project that will affect half of your grade
Ms Lyn
so you all better do well or you'll fail my subject
Ms Lyn
you all will be doing a presentation of a novel of your choice and discuss what it's all about
Ms Lyn
you all will be working by pairs
Ms Lyn
I will now be assigning the groups
Ms Lyn
you two are the first group
Ms Lyn has now finished announcing the groups
before celine turned to leave, Ms Lyn stops her

could you help Damien change?

he wasn't always like this

last year he was the top in his class

he was always so kind and helpful

he was also in my class last year and I've noticed his change

celine heads to the cafeteria and sits at an empty table
she takes out her lunch and started eating
suddenly someone approaches her table
he sat down infront of her without saying any word

let me guess, all the seats were taken?

so about the project, where do you think we should work on it?
she sighs, controlling her temper

let's do it at the library at Saturday
he's more focused on the food than on her, he was clearly not listening
she was now fed it with his attitude
she slams her hands on the table and leans down on him

look, if you don't want to pass that's fine but don't bring me down with you!

we both will be affected by this!

so stop being selfish and just cooperate!
he was more flustered at how close their faces were rather than her yelling at him

yeah yeah, you didn't have to yell y'know?

she notices his wallpaper is a picture of a dog

she tries to hide a smile

she hands him back his phone

so, how's progress going?
Asher
it's going pretty well!

she's giving me another chance

I'm guessing she's into the sincere nice guys

as asher turns his head, he sees celine walking down the hallway
he rushes out the room and approaches her
he sees that she's carrying books
he sees that she was clearly struggling

don't try to do things on your own

it wouldn't hurt to ask for some help

Mr Rogers suddenly asked me to carry these books so I was a bit in a hurry

are you alright though? your arms might've been tired carrying these books
she gives him a reassuring smile
they've now arrived at her class
all the girls were sending love hearts at asher and glares at celine

I'll take it from here
she takes the books from his hands

just ask me if you need more books to carry
he gives her his signature smile
that smile no longer looks annoying to her
he waves goodbye and leaves
she went back to her seat and sees damien's head down on the table

(he must be sleeping again)

(I can't let him sleep, I promised Ms Lyn to help him change)
she decided to shake him awake
he moved a bit and slowly lifts his head to look at her
she places her hand on his forehead to check his temperature

you're sick, damien

I know, I can see that

there's no time for sarcastic remarks, you have to go the nurse's office

I'm fine, it's just a slight fever

no it's not, stop being stubborn and just go!
his legs were too weak to walk so she puts her arm on his waist and puts his arm on her shoulder and helps him walk to the nurse's office

this doesn't look like you're fine!
Damien
I can walk on my own.. you don't have to help me..
he removes his arm from her shoulder
he took three steps and collapses on the floor

I told you to stop being stubborn!

don't always try to do things on your own when you can't handle it alone!

he got up and they continued walking
they are now finally at the nurse's office

the nurse helps damien settle on the bed
she checks his temperature

alright, I'll give you the prescribed medicine
the nurse turns to celine

the nurse then turns to leave
the room was now filled with silence

and a-about what happened at the hallway.. I'm sorry for being stubborn...

I'm used to enduring things by myself

I live alone so I have to take care of myself
she looks at him softly, eyes full with empathy

they both let out a giggle
the nurse comes back with the medicine
she hands the medicine to damien
School Nurse
take one now and make sure to take one every morning until your fever is cured

your girlfriend can stay until class starts. I have to go now I still have more work to do
before celine could finish her sentence the nurse leaves

I'll get you some water
she stood up and walks up to the water dispenser
she comes back and hands him the cup
as she hands the cup, the bell started to ring which startled her causing the water to spill onto his shirt
she hurriedly grabs napkins and wipes his shirt
the water made his shirt transparent in which she could clearly see his chest
she then realized what she's doing and stops

Y-Y-You do it yourself!
Celine
d-do you have an extra shirt or something?
she tries to avoid eye contact
Damien
I have one in my locker
Damien
but class is going to start soon, I'm fine it'll dry off-
Celine
no no I'll be quick
he tells her the digits to his locker and she rushes out
as she was now at where the lockers were, asher saw her nearby and approaches her

what're you still doing in the hallway? isn't class starting soon?
Celine
I have no time to talk, I still have something to do
she says as she's busy inputting the digits to Damien's locker
the locker finally opened and the shirt was easily spotted. she quickly grabs it and runs off
asher saw that she was running off with a guy's shirt
Asher
(does she have a boyfriend?)
celine has now came back to the nurse's office
Damien
you can go now, I'm going to go change now
Celine
alright then, bye..
