"ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"

it hurts, it really hurts... the pain is killing me. i'm losing my conciousness..

"wahhhh.. waaahhh.. wahhhh"

a baby's cry woke me up from my drifting consciousness. ahhh, my child is born. my only family and companion, my child, mommy is here.

"mommy loves you so much..." the last word I utter before falling to a slumber.

slowly opening my eyes, I surveyed my sorrounding. Walls of white, IV drip hanging on its pole, a bed and me on it. No flowers in a vase in the side table, no fruits for someone sick and no loved ones attending me. This is how sad my Lisa Oh life is because I am now an orphan.

"mom and dad I miss you. huhu.." crying my guts out, i pour all my sorrows in tears.

"mom and dad, if only you're here you'll surely be happy meeting your granddaughter. I'm calling her Princess just like how you two used to call me when I was little."

coming into realization, I look beside me and found that my baby is nowhere in sight! struggling, I lifted my frail and painful body in search of her thinking that maybe the nurse is taking care of her while I'm asleep. With trembling knees, I walked to the nurse station to ask.

"hi. I am the patient in room 23. Can I ask where my baby is?" I asked politely.

the nurses looked at each other as if hesitating to tell me something. I have a bad feeling about it but still continued to ask because I need to find my daughter.

"what's the matter? where is my daughter?" Tears started falling while I'm asking them.

"Miss, stay in your room. we'll notify your doctor that you're awake. he'll expalin everything to you." the nurse replied and I saw pity in those eyes.

Was it just my illusion? yeah, I know I now live a pitiful life but no one knows it other than me and people who took everything away from me.

"no!!!" I began to get hysterical. "where is my daughter? what's there to explain? I clearly heard her cry upon birth! so where is she?" slamming my hands on the wall, I started questioning them.

"miss, please return first to your room. and calm down." the nurse persuaded.

"no! no! no! unless I held my baby in my arms." here I am again, tears falling like an endless stream. where is my baby? I haven't even hugged her or kissed her. Where is she?

"i'll go get the doctor. look after her first."" one of the nurses said before running off.

In white robe, a female doctor approached me and break to me the news like ice cold bucket of water.

"miss, I am sorry. the child was..... was fetched by her biological father." the doctor explained.

but somehow I did not hear the last part. I don't know it was out of denial or because I just can't bear to listen to it.

"miss?" the doctor shakes my shoulder when she sees I did not react to what she says.

"What? I don't understand. What are you saying? My daughter only has me." I shake my head continuously, trying to tell myself that I heard wrong.

I am sure Ryle Liang doesn't know I am pregnant. I even left the summer pearl mansion to get away from him and the half brother of my dad who took my father's fortune to himself.

yeah, I can't forget this dreadful people in my life. They left me with nothing that is why I kept my pregnancy all to myself because my baby is all I have in this life.

"no, no, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!" my body trembles and with bloodshot eyes I pushed the doctor away.

"miss, the father adviced that you file for lawsuit if you want custody of the child. until then, the child will live with them." the doctor hesitantly finished what's to be said.

"Ryle Liang!!! you asshole!!!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs that name that I once loved but now, I hated the most. He basically is not afraid of a lawsuit because he is capable!

Being deprived of my daughter, I am losing my sanity. I started laughing hesterically and cry simultaneously.

"Princess, mommy is here. You need breastmilk right? mommy has a lot. do you want me to hug you to sleep? baby.. baby.. princess.. baby.. mommy is right here, where are you?" I keep murmuring while choking between sobs.

unknown to me, I started bleeding. As if my womb feels my distress, the bleeding gets worse. I started to look pale and the doctor immediately call on the nurse.

"immediately, hold her down. let's sedate her first to calm her nerves down. if we let her be, she might lose her life." the doctor called.

"my baby.. where...?" I weakly murmured as the sedative kicks in.

"doc, why? why did you give the child without her consent?" one of the nurse with a weaker heart, cried upon seeing me lose consciousness.

"Let's not get ourselves involve in this matter. If only I have the power to stop him,.. but alas, the Liangs are the wealthiest and most powerful family in the country. Poor girl.." the doctor fixed my messy hair.

"come, come.. help me get her to bed. Let her rest and bring some food from the cafeteria. Tell the cook that the tab's on me." the doctor instructed.

The nurses help me to bed and get the food as instructed.

Upon losing my consciousness, i feel as if my soul began to wander. A place so foggy I can't see what's ahead or what's behind me. Am I dead? Might as well be. What's the point of living a life worst than hell. Mom and dad will I finally be reunited with you again? I keep walking aimlessly. I don't know where this will lead but it is better than be stationary.

"LISA, I LOVE YOU."

that voice sounds familiar. Looking to its source I saw the familiar cherry blossom tree in the front yard of summer pearl mansion and a couple beneath it. The man in his uniform looks sturdy and bright, and the woman in braid is blushing and youthful. That is the 16 year old me and Ryle Liang.

I keep fiddling with my hair and don't know what to do with the sudden confession. Ryle has this light smile amused at how fidgety I become. He reached out and fixed my loosed hair lovingly.

"silly lass, I like you since childhood and nothing changed. You are destined to be my Mrs. Liang." he said gently.

"whose your Mrs. Liang. Have I said yes?" I retort mischievously.

"yeah, yeah. you haven't but you will. We are destined, don't you know? haha." he laughed lightly.

"whose destined to whom?" mom asked. I did not noticed mom approached us already. maybe I was in cloud nine because of Ryle's confession.

"mom, look whose confessing? our bigshot Ryle Liang!!!" I happily confessed to mom while pointing my hands exaggeratedly towards Ryle.

Ryle blushed with what I say.

"oh! this princess, don't tease Ryle. look he's all shy now." Mom laughed.

"alright, alright! settle your conversation between yourselves. I'm gonna prepare buko pie for snack. Lisa bring him to veranda after saying yes." mom retreated after leaving this remark.

"mom, you!!!!!!" I unhappily said.

"hahahaha. we'll my girlfriend lead the way. hahaha. Princess please." Ryle jested while extending his arms as if beckoning the queen to move forward.

"hahahahaha.. you freeloader!" I pinched his thin waist because he's again making fun of me.

From then on, we were officially a couple. Ryle would everyday come to fetch me. He would lovingly prepare gifts on our anniversary. He would accompany me anywhere I want to. he supports me in anything I want. If asked why?

he would always reply with, "I wanted you to grow and progress with me. Whatever you want my princess, I'll support you."

It goes on until we finish high school.

In college he was sent abroad but he calls every now and then to update me. and to express how he loves me. I couldn't ask for more.

"Lisa, I wanna spend my future with you. Mrs. Liang, will you marry me?" , In a candlelight dinner when he takes over their family company, he proposed.

I was 25 then. A perfect age to settle down. I am already an interior designer in profession. The marriage was supposed to be held the next year on the hearts day, Feb. 14.

He loves me wholeheartedly that I can't wait to marry him- or maybe I was wrong. Because of a single reason that years of love, trust and faith we build was destroyed. It was like it was as fragile as thin glass. A simple poke and it shatters.
