The After Party
8:00 PM |
GRAND MARINA CONCERT HALL
The crowd went wild and we jumped to the beat of the sound.
Suki Danvers
I'm having so much fun!!
She raved while in linked with Orla.
Orla Johnson
Careful Soo! My glasses will fall!
I laughed hard and held on them tight.
We reached our hands to the sky and screamed.
The lights went danced and fireworks boomed above us.
The drum slammed its last beat and we shouted as loud as our lungs could bare.
The crowd cheered louder and the band began to play again.
: Outside the Grand Marina Concert Hall : Grand Marina Garden Café
We entered the café and Orla zoomed past the room to take a seat near the air condition.
Orla Johnson
Ugh! That was so fun, but tiring!
My legs are quaking.
She slumped on the seat and Suki followed her.
I made my way into the counter and ordered three Iced French Vanilla drinks and a whole Chocolate Vanilla Cake.
I rejoined them in our seats and I slumped next to them.
I sighed, contented.
Silvia Libratine
That was awesome.
I think tonight was one of their best performances, right?
Suki Danvers
Agree! And they did an encore for the first time!
Orla Johnson
Huh! They're already living their dreams and here we are...
Suki Danvers
Always fangirling.
Silvia Libratine
Speaking of fangirl, your fan boy's here.
The café doors opened to reveal the guys. Royce skidded towards us and pushed Suki and I out of the way to greet Orla.
Royce McKing
Hello, my princess.
He greeted Orla and caressed her hair. They share a candy filled smile.
Suki and I gave him a retched face and pretend to be vomiting.
We moved to the other seats.
Scarlet Black
So how was it?
Silvia Libratine
Tonight might be your best!
Royce McKing
It is the best!
Scarlet Black
We got a recommendation!
Orla Johnson
Really?!
That's great!
Suki Danvers
Congratulations you guys!
Onyx Moon
...and another gig
Jade Moon
...and they asked us to open for Laguna Wish
The girls and I looked at each other and grinned. We squealed so loud and so hard that the guys covered their eyes.
Robin Blythe
Wow. You guys never scream for us like that.
Silvia Libratine
Hey!
You should know that we dried our lungs out for you tonight!
Suki Danvers
Yeah! Don't be so ungrateful!
Orla Johnson
...but Laguna Wish.
She sighed with dreamy eyes.
Royce McKing
I told you guys we shouldn't have mentioned them yet.
Scarlet Black
Is Laguna Wish really that superior than Pyra?
Orla Johnson
Because they're men.
Suki Danvers
Hot, sizzling men.
The girls and I shared a giggle and turned into a belted laugh when we saw the guys give us dark looks.
Robin Blythe
What's so good about them besides their looks and music?
Silvia Libratine
Their looks and music.
Royce McKing
We have those looks too!
He said and the band flashed us their smiles and posed like they were having a photoshoot.
Suki Danvers
Yeah, maybe in ten years.
Robin Blythe
So you like older guys?
He turned to me and leaned close.
I leaned closer and sighed.
He scoffed and shook his head back.
I laughed and our orders came.
The twins tried to get a piece from the cake but Suki swatted their hands before they could get any.
Suki Danvers
Heey!
You guys just rocked a gig to the ground, you should be treating us!
The twins hung their heads low and I laughed.
I grabbed a piece from the cake and offered it to them.
Onyx beamed and took the bite and then I went on to feed Jade.
Orla does the same and feeds him a small pint.
Scarlet opened his mouth and faced Suki but Suki was oblivious to it.
Robin Blythe
Me? Aaaaaah...
I pushed my temples forward and grabbed another bite but this time I took it.
His eyes widened and he quickly grabbed the fork from my hand.
Robin Blythe
You! You just fed the twins with the same fork!
Silvia Libratine
What? So?
You'd rather I feed them with my bare hands?
Robin Blythe
..but that was almost–
Suki Danvers
An indirect kiss!
Silvia Libratine
Then I'm glad to be their first indirect kiss.
I smiled sweetly and shared a high five with the twins.
We stood outside the exit and waited for my ride.
Robin Blythe
Are you sure you don't want to ride with us?
We don't mind dropping you off.
Silvia Libratine
Nah, it's fine.
And my destination is too far from any of you, plus it's late.
I'm sure your driver's already tired.
Scarlet Black
We're more tired.
Orla Johnson
But leaving you in a carpool with strangers is...
Suki Danvers
I should just come with you!
I'll text my mom, I'll sleep over.
Orla Johnson
Then, me too!
Silvia Libratine
Aish! I'm going to be alright!
I've done this a lot of times and nothing bad has happened before!
Orla Johnson
Try calling your driver again, maybe he's fallen asleep.
Silvia Libratine
Then there's no chances of waking him up if he is.
Scarlet Black
Then, open your phone while you're inside and call us.
That'll ward off any chances of them doing something.
Silvia Libratine
Really! It's alright! You guys over react so much!
It's here!
I waved when I spotted the white suv and it parked right in front of us.
The driver pulled the window down and we confirmed each other.
Silvia Libratine
Well, this is me.
I'll call you when I get home.
I said and gave my friends a hug goodbye.
I opened the passenger seat and found it spacious enough for two people. I slid in and was about to close the door when Robin quickly hopped in.
Robin Blythe
I'll see you guys at the studio later!
He said and closed the door.
The driver looked at me confused and then to Robin.
"Sorry, but the booking was for only one person,", The driver said.
Robin Blythe
Uh, yeah, well you see I'm worried for my girlfriend.
Can I get a pass?
Silvia Libratine
Please add him to the booking and I'll pay the total sum.
The driver nodded and smiled. He started the car and we zoomed off.
I turned to Robin.
Silvia Libratine
I said it was already fine.
You only added to my fee.
Robin Blythe
Ouch. You really hurt me Silvie.
Silvia Libratine
How are you going to get home?
Silvia Libratine
Ey! Stop messing.
You know how unreliable those trips are.
He chuckled and relaxed himself in his seat.
Robin Blythe
It's fine. I'll take the bus from there to the studio.
Silvia Libratine
That'll probably take you all night.
Robin Blythe
I don't mind.
As long as you're home safe.
He said and yawned. He leaned his arms on the windowsill and rested his head against it.
He closed his eyes and I found myself unable to look away.
Robin Blythe
Don't stare at me too much or I'll melt.
We still have to open for Laguna Wish next month.
I snorted and scowled at him.
We both hopped off the car and he walked me to the Estate Gate.
Robin Blythe
Woah! I've been here many times but the sight never ceases to amaze me.
Silvia Libratine
It's only the gate.
Robin Blythe
Yeah! Exactly!
Robin Blythe
When Pyra does well and when our work has finally paid off, I'm gonna buy a house and a land and live there.
He said and pointed beyond the gates.
Silvia Libratine
You're going to need a lot of money then.
Robin Blythe
Oooh! My filthy rich friend is undermining me.
Silvia Libratine
I'm being realistic.
and besides, it's only amazing on the outside.
You don't know how lonely it looks when you're inside.
Robin Blythe
But I won't be lonely.
Silvia Libratine
Oh really?!
Want me to tour you sometime?
Robin Blythe
Yah! I'll have my land and house across yours so we'll be neighbors.
That way, it won't be lonely for you...
...or me...
He beamed and flashed me his killer smile. With both his dimples appearing on the side.
I paused for a while and took it in. His image. His smile. The way his eyes disappear when he smiles.
His simple get up, much different from when he's on stage with all the heavy accessories and without his guitar.
That cute single mole under his left eye and his long, messy, wavy hair that smelled like pine.
I reached out and touched his hair, I twirled it around mt finger and his smile faltered.
I pulled my hand immediately
Silvia Libratine
Sorry.
You looked really cute.
Silvia Libratine
Like a puppy!
He snorted and shook his head.
He waved at me, urging me to go in.
Robin Blythe
Yeah yeah, I look like a freakin' dog.
Now go inside, it's already late!
He said and pushed me lightly to the gates.
I alerted the guard of my presence and gave him my ID for verification.
He gave me thumbs up and the gate automatically opened.
I turned to Robin once again.
Silvia Libratine
Thanks for accompanying me.
...although I didn't need it...
I'm still thankful.
Robin Blythe
Nah! What are friends for?
Silvia Libratine
You should go or you'll miss the last bus.
He nodded and then waved me inside.
Robin Blythe
I'll go once I see you inside.
Silvia Libratine
You're so stubborn.
I entered through the gates and turned to him again.
He smiled brightly and waved profusely at me.
The gates closed automatically.
Silvia Libratine
I'm inside! Go!
I said and waved him off with both my arms.
He gave me an okay gesture and then went off.
I stayed still form where I am and from where I could see him walk away.
...and I thought, someday he'll leave and I asked myself if I'd be able to let him go.
Silvia Libratine
I'm sure I would.
I always do.
I turned to the guard and greeted him.
Silvia Libratine
Were there any mails for me today?
The guard went back inside and then came back out.
He gave me a somber smile and shook his head.
I nodded and smiled lowly.
Silvia Libratine
Oh, alright. Thank you.
Goodnight.
I stood outside the black gates of Hilden Manor, mt current home and pulled the keys from my leather jacket.
I pushed it in and turned the padlock snaked around the gate. Then pulled another key to unlock the gate itself.
I relocked it and walked the long dark pathway leading to the house.
Silvia Libratine
I should have someone replace the light bulbs on the lamp posts.
Hilden Manor was once a garden wonderland, but after my grandmother's death it's been like this, dark and gloomy.
The grasses ware overgrown and wild flowers are everywhere.
Who knows what creatures laid under.
I passed the driveway and the marbled fountain that have stopped working for years and into the front door.
The door opened and a bright light blinded me.
"You're here! Thank goodness! I was worried!" My nanny shrilled.
I covered my ears and adjusted my eyes to the light.
Silvia Libratine
Yeah, sorry I was late. And I forgot to call. I thought you were still on your day off.
"Oh! Well I thought I'd come home early to make you some dinner but I didn't know you'd be out this late!"
Silvia Libratine
Yeah.
I had dessert with friends.
"Well I made your favorite! Salmon!" She beamed and I smiled.
I crouched down and greeted Daisy, my Borzoi breed and we played for a while at the doorstep.
"She's been waiting for you.
Now come on in, let's have a very, very late dinner!"
We went inside and into the kitchen where the dining nook, where we always ate is.
Nanny went to prepare our food and Daisy laid on the floor beside me.
This is my home.
My family consisted of a House, a Nanny, and a Dog.
Just then, I received a message from my dad.
I opened it and read it.
My heart sank and my rage started to rise. I gripped my phone hard and even thought of throwing it out the window but the piquant smell of Nanny Pat's cooking was the only thing that was keeping me from doing so.
I turned to Daisy instead and she lifted her head up to glance at me.
Silvia Libratine
What do I do Dais?
She groaned in a high voice.
Silvia Libratine
She's coming home.
Weekend with The Half-Sister
Morning at Hilden Manor : 9AM
We stood in the veranda waiting for Sasha's car.
Nanny Pay beside me couldn't hold her anxiety.
"Why so sudden?!
I haven't filled the refrigerator!
Oh! He could've called or sent a message that the Miss is coming here!" She fumed.
Daisy who was sitting next to me hung her head and covered her ears with her paw.
I grinned and then turned to Nanny Pat. I placed a hand on her shoulders.
Silvia Libratine
It's alright Nan, I'll order us a take out.
She rolled her eyes and snorted. "Yeah right. Like she could eat a take out!" She hissed and I grinned.
We left the gates open earlier this morning.
A few minutes later a black sedan entered through.
Daisy barked and stood up on all fours. I patted her head and calmed her down.
"They're here," Nanny Pat sighed.
The car circled the driveway and stopped right in front of us.
The door bursted open and Sasha sprinted to us.
Sasha Libratine
Eek! Hi guys!
"Her energy burns me," Nanny Par mumbled under her breath.
Sasha ran to us but Daisy blocked her from reaching me. She staggered backwards and Daisy barked profusely.
Sasha Libratine
Woah woah!! Daisy! It's me!
She pouted.
She turned to me and I gently grabbed Daisy by her silver collar.
Silvia Libratine
Sit, girl.
Daisy sat in an instant and kept silent.
Sasha sighed in relief and then turned to us once again.
She hugged Nanny Pat and squealed. She then turned to me but I raised my hand.
Sasha Libratine
Aww! C'mon! Just one hug! I missed you! I haven't seen your in four years!
I sighed and I saw her driver watching us instead of unloading her luggages.
Silvia Libratine
Make it quick.
She squealed and gave me a hug. I kept to my place and tilted my head to prevent my chin from touching her head.
I gave her a light tap and she pulled in an instant.
Sasha Libratine
Woah!! This house is so big!
She gasped and gawked. She turned and looked around at the sight.
Sasha Libratine
How do you manage to clean it all Nanny Pat?
Nanny Pat smiled sweetly, "M'lady helps me with the chores. It's an arduous task but we manage!" She replied proudly.
Sasha's mouth agape.
Sasha Libratine
You clean?!
But what about your other maids?
Nanny Pat's smile faltered and she grumbled under her breath.
Silvia Libratine
It's just the three of us here.
Sasha Libratine
But how can you clean it by yourself?! It must be tiring!
Back in our house in England we have atleast eighty maids!
"Yes, well this isn't England dear, and Silvia is more than capable." Nanny Pat replied.
Sasha Libratine
But still!
You should ask dad for an extra help around the house!
"Oh, but didn't he already gave one?" Nanny Pat asked, sarcastically and my lips curl into a slight smile.
Sasha squinted her eyes and slowly pointed at herself.
"Well yes dear! You are going to live in this house now and so the responsibility of keeping it is now also in your hands," Nanny Pat smirked.
Sasha Libratine
But...Silvie...I can't clean!
I don't want to!
Silvia Libratine
Well then, you can go ask dad to get you a unit in one of his condominium towers because in this house, everyone's got a role.
Sasha Libratine
Hmph! Aren't you being a little cruel to your baby sis?!
Silvia Libratine
So now being honest makes me cruel?
Sasha Libratine
Th-that's not what I meant!
I just..
Silvia Libratine
It's fine.
I'm sure he'll prefer it if you have your own unit at the tower.
Sasha Libratine
But I wanted to stay with you!
And if everyone's got a role then what's Daisy's?
Daisy groaned and lift her head up.
Silvia Libratine
She takes out the trash, helps the garden and sometimes even assist Nanny Pat with the groceries.
She's all around.
Sasha Libratine
How is that even possible?
"My dear, Daisy's trained..." Nanny Oat answered.
"More than you'll ever be..." She whispered under her breath and I tried my best not to laugh.
Sasha didn't hear. She looked at Daisy with a bewildered and resented look.
Sasha Libratine
F-fine! I'll help with the chores. But don't blame me if I do a bad job at it!
Silvia Libratine
I won't blame you...
unless you do it on purpose.
Sasha whinnied lowly and pouted. Her brows creased and I sighed, having enough of seeing her pitiful face.
I ushered her inside and told the driver to bring her luggage in.
Sasha Libratine
Oh woah!
It feels like I'm in a real palace. The interior is...magnificent!
I led her through the foyer and up the grand staircase and into the second floor. We walked the corridor and stopped in front of a door at the end of the hall.
Sasha Libratine
The place is so bright, but don't you think that the grey tones are a little....creepy?
Don't let the house hear you.
Silvia Libratine
Here's your room.
I said and inserted the key. I turned it and it clicked open. I skim the wall for the light switch and pressed it.
The room lighted up and I stepped on the side to let her pass.
Sasha Libratine
Woah! This bedroom is beautiful!
A little mature for me...but beautiful!
I like it!
She squealed and ran off to the bed. It was made of silk and her favorite color, pink.
I had to make an effort or she'll tell on dad.
Sasha Libratine
I love the bed! It's so soft!
She giggled and ran around like a child, checking every nook and corner.
Her driver came up with her luggage and I stayed outside the room and waited for them to settle.
Sasha hauled her luggages inside one by one and set them on the carpeted floor.
Silvia Libratine
Are you staying with her too?
I asked the driver as soon as he was done with the last luggage.
He turned to me, "Yes. I'll be her driver and escort for the whole year," He answered and I gave him a nod.
Silvia Libratine
Find Patricia, she'll take you to the bungalows where you'll stay in.
He gave me a light bow and then hesitated to leave.
"Uhm. I wanted to apologize for leaving so sudden last month. I was immediately called in by Mr. Libratine that I didn't get the chance to properly say goodbye." He explained.
Silvia Libratine
It's fine.
I never held it against you.
"I hope you got home safely that night. I was really worried, young miss." He said and lowered his head.
Silvia Libratine
I got my friends to drive me. I got home safe.
It's alright. You shouldn't worry for me next time.
Sasha Libratine
Silvie! Aren't you coming in?
She said through the door.
The driver, Bernard left us to look for Nanny Pat.
Silvia Libratine
No. Take your time to settle.
The third floor, the attic, the basement and the garden dome is off limits, meaning you are forbidden to enter the rooms.
Lunch is at 11:30, come down by then.
Sasha Libratine
But why is the third floor off limits? Is that where your room is?
Silvia Libratine
Yes. It's my floor.
If you need me then go to Nanny Pat first.
Sasha Libratine
But whyy?? Can't I just come to you in person?
Silvia Libratine
No. Those are simple instructions, please abide by them.
If you want a peaceful living here in Hilden, then you have to respect its rules.
She hung her head down and fidgeted with her fingers, she pouted and pursed her lips.
Sasha Libratine
Then, I need you to stay here!
Silvia Libratine
No.
Learn to differentiate 'need' from 'want'
Don't use it too lightly. I'm a very busy person so please, be sensible and wise when you need to call for me.
Sasha Libratine
Aww! But I really want to catch up!
Pleaaaase?
Silvia Libratine
Sorry. I need to finish some school works.
I gave her a light smile and left. I hurried back to my room with Daisy tailing behind me.
I locked the door and slid the sliding doors of the balcony open.
I leaned on the balcony rail and faced the pathway of Hilden Manor. I breathed in the fresh air.
Daisy reached over the balcony rail as well and barked a few times.
She looked at me with a smile.
My phone vibrated and I leaned on the balcony rail. I checked my phone and received a text from dad.
"Sasha told me that you've just showed her to her room.
Be kind to each other and spare some time for her. She really missed you.
...I deposited 70k on your card for the next two months. Take her out for lunch today and tour her around.
...she'll need to be familiar with the place when she starts school there.
Thanks.
P.S. Dad loves you both. Take care."
I shoved my phone back inside my jacket pockets and exhaled a heavy breath.
I patted Daisy on her head and went downstairs.
Sasha Libratine
Silvie! Dad said you'll be touring me around!
Nanny Pat turned to me cautiously and I gave her a light nod.
Silvia Libratine
Yeah. I'll take her out for lunch this time Nanny Pat.
You could give me the list of grocery items, we'll collect it on the way.
Sasha Libratine
Huh? But isn't that the maid's–Nanny Pat's job?
Silvia Libratine
Yeah, but since we're already going out I might as well drop by the supermarket.
Sasha Libratine
But what about our lunch out?
Silvia Libratine
We'll have lunch first and then go to the supermarket.
Sasha Libratine
But won't the groceries be too heavy? I can't carry heavy stuff!
Silvia Libratine
Then after lunch, you can ask Bernard to fetch you.
I'll take care of the groceries myself.
Sasha Libratine
This is ridiculous, why can't Nanny Pat just go get it herself, she's done this before right?
Silvia Libratine
Nanny Pat and I always go to fetch the groceries together..
"Silvie, she's right. I'll just–"
Sasha Libratine
But Silviaaa.
Silvia Libratine
Didn't I tell you that I'm a busy person?
I had to compromise my study schedule just to welcome you back and take you out for lunch.
I'll buy the groceries today so tomorrow I can have the whole day to study.
Does that make sense?
She whimpered and pursed her lips. Her temples creased and she frowned.
Sasha Libratine
I just want to spend the whole day with you, is that such a bad thing?
Silvia Libratine
It's not. But I can't always make adjustments for you and dad whenever you feel like it.
I have a life too.
Silvia Libratine
No. We'll take the bus.
Sasha needs to know the different ways of transport if she wants to live here.
I straightened up and grabbed my cap from the coat's hanger near the door.
I took the grocery list from Nanny Pat and headed out the door.
Sasha Libratine
W-wait! Silvie! Let's just ride the car!
Silvia Libratine
You can ride with Bernard then, I'll take my commute.
Meet me at Mary Kate's Restaurant.
Sasha Libratine
I told you I'm not suited for public transport!
We sat on a bench at the park near Mary Kate's Restaurant.
Sasha followed me out of the manor and commuted with me here, but her heel snapped and now we're taking a break from walking.
Silvia Libratine
Then why did you wear them?
Sasha Libratine
I wanted to look taller! Like you!
Silvia Libratine
Then drink some milk.
Sasha Libratine
That didn't work on me.
Silvia Libratine
Then just accept the fact that you're on your height limit.
Sasha Libratine
But I don't want to be short.
I want more height!
Silvia Libratine
You're 5'4. That's already tall.
Sasha Libratine
It's average! I want to be a model you know.
Silvia Libratine
Height isn't always the basis for being a model.
Sasha Libratine
Why do you always contradict me, can't you be on my side for once?
Silvia Libratine
Then broaden your mindset. Not all models are tall.
She huffed and I sighed, wandering my eyes for the nearest store.
Sasha Libratine
If we'd taken the car with Bernard I wouldn't be in this position.
I have spare shoes in the car.
She whimpered and groaned.
Silvia Libratine
Then stay here. I'll look for a store.
What's your shoe size?
Sasha Libratine
You're going to leave me here alone?
Silvia Libratine
Unless you want to walk all the way there barefoot.
Sasha Libratine
Size 7.
...but can't you just carry me?
Silvia Libratine
What are you a child?
Silvia Libratine
Don't be ridiculous and stay here, this place is safe.
I stood up and left.
I entered the store in a hurry and asked for a pair of white sandals.
It only took me a few minutes to purchase it and returned to where I left Sasha.
Silvia Libratine
Here. Try it on.
I gently dropped it on the ground for her to try it.
Sasha Libratine
Were there no other colors? I don't think this would match my dress though.
Silvia Libratine
Does that matter?
...and white goes with everything so just try it on.
She huffed but tried it on eventually.
It fitted her.
Sasha Libratine
Oh it fits! And it's surprisingly comfortable too!
Thanks Silvia!
Silvia Libratine
Right.
Let's go.
MINUTES LATER : MARY KATE'S RESTAURANT
Sasha Libratine
Oh woah!
This place is gorgeous!
I hailed for the waiter and asked for a table for two.
He led us near the window and we sat together.
Sasha gawked once again at the place.
You'd think living in England all these years wouldn't impress her eyes with such simple architecture.
I left her in her own little world and studied the menu.
"Have you decided on your orders yet?" The waiter materialized next to us holding a notepad and pen.
He gave us a kind smile.
Sasha Libratine
Oh! Not yet.
Silvia Libratine
I'll have your C Special, please.
Sasha Libratine
Uuuh! You've already decided on yours?
What about me?
She huffed and pouted. She returned her eyes to the menu, scanning it with haste.
Silvia Libratine
You should just take your time. We're not in a rush.
Sasha Libratine
But you've already decided on yours.
Have you eaten here before?
Silvia Libratine
No. This is my first time.
Sasha Libratine
Then how do you know what to choose?
Silvia Libratine
Familiarity.
Silvia Libratine
I've seen it on social media, that's how I know.
Sasha Libratine
Not fair!
I don't know what to order yet.
I sighed and turned to the waiter shyly.
Silvia Libratine
Then, can you recommend her one of your best meals?
"Surely miss!" He beamed and assisted Sasha.
Sasha Libratine
Then I'll have that instead!
I love seafood!
"Okay, would that be all?" He asked and I nodded.
Silvia Libratine
Yes, thank you.
"Fifteen minutes," He added and left.
Sasha Libratine
Isn't that a bit long?
Silvia Libratine
It's expected, my meal takes a while.
Sasha Libratine
Then you should've chosen an easier one to cook.
Silvia Libratine
Why are you in a rush? It's not like you have something important to do.
She frowned and pushed her lips on the side.
Sasha Libratine
I just want to spend lots of time with you today!
Silvia Libratine
Then you're not coming with me to the supermarket?
Sasha Libratine
N-no.
I don't want to carry those heavy bags.
Bernard and I will just have to wait for you in the car, then we can go home together.
I sighed.
Hilden Manor isn't your home.
Silvia Libratine
You don't have to. I can take the bus with that many load.
I've done it before.
Sasha Libratine
But your shoulders will be sore.
Silvia Libratine
I don't hurt that easily.
So it's fine.
Sasha Libratine
Hmm! That was perfect! So delicious!
I placed my spoon and fork together after I have finished my meal. I grabbed my glass of iced tea and took a sip.
I removed the table napkin from my lap and folded it next to the plate.
Silvia Libratine
Clean your table before we leave.
Sasha Libratine
But isn't that the waiters' job?
Silvia Libratine
Their job is to collect the plates and the utensils after you eat, not your trash.
She does as I said and just in time the waiter comes with our bills.
Silvia Libratine
We'll split the bill. Here's for the C Special.
Sasha Libratine
We'll split? But dad said it's your treat!
Silvia Libratine
I never agreed.
Starting from today, you're going to pay your own bills.
Sasha Libratine
But isn't your money dad's money?
I shook my head and showed her my card.
Silvia Libratine
This is my own card.
Sasha Libratine
But where's your credit card?
Silvia Libratine
At home. I don't use it.
I turned to the waiter who stood next to us, awkwardly.
Silvia Libratine
Sorry, she's new here. But please, take her card.
Sasha whined lowly but surrendered her card.
When we've both paid, I ushered Sasha outside.
Sasha Libratine
But how do you get your own money if you don't use dad's card?
Silvia Libratine
Part time jobs.
Silvia Libratine
He doesn't know and I'd like to keep it that way.
Sasha Libratine
But how do you pay Nanny Pat?
Silvia Libratine
Why are you asking so many questions?
Sasha Libratine
Because I want to know.
Silvia Libratine
These matters don't concern you, so please, refrain from asking them.
Sasha Libratine
You're so mean!
Silvia Libratine
What's new?
Sasha Libratine
Whoo! That was fun!
Arcades are my favorite places!
Sasha Libratine
My friends and I always go there every saturday to play the games and sometimes they come over to play x-box!
Sasha Libratine
We even have this online community for gamers!
It's so much fun! You should try it!
You're good at video games too!
Silvia Libratine
No. I quit long time ago didn't I?
Sasha Libratine
But you were so good! It was because of you that I learned and loved it!
And now, if you didn't know, am conquering the gaming world!
Sasha Libratine
They even named me 'Game Master' in our online community.
Silvia Libratine
Congratulations.
Sasha Libratine
So what are we going to do next?
Silvia Libratine
I don't know. You're the one who's been making all the request.
Sasha Libratine
W-well, what do you want to do?
I stared at her for a while and found myself suddenly exhausted.
Silvia Libratine
I don't have anything I want to do.
You should make it quick, I have to collect the groceries before sundown.
She was silent for a time.
Sasha Libratine
Then let's go have some desserts!
We lined up in one of the most famous ice cream stalls for atleast thirty minutes before we got to our orders.
I ordered a mocha coffee flavoured while Sasha had the strawberry flavor.
Sasha Libratine
mmm! now that's refreshing!
We sat on a bench back in the park and rested there for a while.
I ate in peace when my phone vibrated.
I pulled it out from my jacket and received a text from Robin asking me to drop by the studio.
I replied, "Can't today. I'm fetching some groceries. Maybe on monday, after school." I hit sent and he doesn't reply.
We finished eating and I walked Sasha through the park and back until Bernard came.
She still insisted on driving me to the supermarket but I declined and told her I'd take the bus.
Sasha Libratine
Then, have a safe trip back! Call if you need anything!
I gave them a wave and they drove off.
I headed for the bus stop and sat near the exit. It was only a ten minute drive from the park.
I arrived at the supermarket two hours before sundown.
Silvia Libratine
Perfect. I'll be done by five or six, hopefully.
I entered through the entrance and grabbed a large shopping cart. I pushed it and strolled around, first stopping at the meat and fish section.
I have always done this with Nanny Pat, and now that I'm doing this alone, I felt at peace and relaxed.
I head to the vegetable section next and was surprised to see Robin juggling three cabbages at a time.
He spotted me and I gawked at him.
He laughed and returned the cabbages on the baskets.
Robin Blythe
Not quite. Just making sure you weren't making any excuses to avoid your duties as President of Pyra's Fanclub.
I scoffed and shook my head.
Silvia Libratine
I'm not Fan Club President.
Robin Blythe
Then I'm appointing you now!
Silvia Libratine
Will you please not distract me? I have to go back before sunset.
Robin Blythe
But it's saturday!
Silvia Libratine
Yes and we also have an exam two weeks from now. I need to get some studying.
I strolled past him and stopped at the veggies and fruits section.
I inspected the veggies first before placing them in the cart.
Robin Blythe
Woah. Silvia, always the over-achiever.
Look I just need you to check something.
Silvia Libratine
Then you can tell it here.
Robin Blythe
But it's private.
I looked around and saw the section accommodating just the two of us.
Silvia Libratine
Look around, there's not much people here.
Robin Blythe
But it's a really, really, private matter. I need your opinion.
I stopped to look at him and urged him to continue.
Silvia Libratine
Just tell me.
What is it?
He sighed and stared at me for a while.
Robin Blythe
You...
really have to see it for yourself.
Silvia Libratine
Fine. Okay, but just let me finish collecting my groceries first.
He grinned widely and cheered loudly. He punched the air and did a silly dance.
I shook my head and moved on to the next items.
Robin helped me pushed the cart outside the supermarket.
The items were boxed in four and I may have started to think how I was going to get these home.
Should I have just agreed with Sasha and went home with a driver?
Robin Blythe
You know it's a good thing I was here, or else, how are you going to get these boxes of groceries home?
Silvia Libratine
I don't know...carpool?
Robin Blythe
Oy! Don't go carpooling ever again. From now on, I'll drive you to all your supermarket needs.
Silvia Libratine
Can your car even carry all this weight?
I asked and patted the boxes.
Robin Blythe
My car's more than capable!
It may only be a bug but it's the strongest bug you'll ever find!
I laughed again.
We locked eyes for a while.
Robin Blythe
I'll drive you from now on, so call me whenever, okay?
Silvia Libratine
Why would you do that?
He opened his lips to speak but a loud honk cut him.
We turned to the side and there, I saw the black sedan.
Silvia Libratine
You've gotta be kidding me.
Sasha Libratine
Silvie!! Surprise! I waited for you!
She peeked from the window in the passenger seat.
Silvia Libratine
My father's daughter.
