Charisse strolled into the park, earphones plugged in, barely paying attention to the way she was going.
“Ergh!”
She looked up to see a guy wincing, and then focusing his brown eyes on her.
Realising, she quickly unplugged her earphones and bowed before him,
“Sorry, Mr. I didn’t mean to bump into you. I promise to look where I am going next time.”
The guy laughs and pats her head,
“No need to be so polite. You’re at most one year younger than me. It’s alright, really.”
A bashful smile lit up on Charisse’s face when she heard his words. He wore a black mask with casual wear and a cap that only revealed a few strands of some blue hair.
“What’s your name?” He asked her.
“I’m Charisse..”
“Your name is beautiful. I’m... Alec.”
“Thank you, Alec.”
Alec looked at her for a few seconds before saying,
“Do you come here often?”
“You mean.. the park?”
Alec nods.
“Yeah, I come here quite a lot.” Charisse gazes at her familiar surroundings.
“That’s good. This is one of my most frequently visited places as well.” Alec said, but Charisse couldn’t tell what his expression was as his black mask covered up a great portion of his face.
“I’ll be on my way now,” Charisse beamed, “Nice meeting you, Alec. If fate allows it, we will meet here once again.”
And with that, she waved him goodbye and continued walking, putting her earphones back in.
Unusual. She didn’t even ask for my number, I would have given it to her if she did. I hope I get to meet her again. Alec shook his head, put his hands in his pockets and turned a left corner.
A few minutes after Charisse walked away, she begin to regret not asking for some social contact with him. It wasn’t everyday she stumbled across a guy this way.. It’s fine, he says he comes here often. I suppose I’ll just have to come to the park everyday with a heart of hope.
She finally found the playground where her sister played at whilst she took a stroll. 6.18pm. They would have to go back now or their mother would never let them go to the park again. Catching sight of her energy-filled sister, she waved her hands about until she got noticed.
Charisse waved at her younger sister who came running to her from the playground.
“Charisse!!” Her sister, Cathy squealed as Charisse picked her up.
“Hi, Cathy! Time to go home now.”
“Awww, but I want to stay here! I met a friend!” Cathy sulks and turns around to point at a little boy waving shyly.
Oh wow. He looks somehow familiar..
“I’m sure you will meet him again next time, let’s go. Mum is waiting for us at home.” Charisse smiled gently,
“Okay.. fine,” Cathy said, “Bye, Harry!”
When Charisse and Cathy are long gone, Harry’s brother arrives to pick him up.
“Brother! I met a young girl, her name is Cathy but she went back with her big sister already.”
“That’s cool. Let’s go.” His brother said.
