"Good morning, Dr. Woods!"
"How is your morning going?" a nurse, Ellie asked.
Dr. Woods...a name that most of the nurses at MW hospital were familiar with. She had been with the hospital almost for a decade ever since when she was a med student.
"Hi, Ellie! I'm doing great. How are you?" She asked.
"Well, I'm actually very excited for today"
"Why?" Dr. Woods smiled at the happy nurse and pointed at the file next to the computer. "Patient room 101,"
From calling first name on the basis to Dr. Woods, it had been a long and hardworking journey for Krystal. At the age of 21, she let go of everything and moved to a different city to restart her life. A big place without knowing anyone, she was struggling to keep up and adapt to the new environment. No friends, no family, and everything was a challenge for her. Did she regret her choice? "No, of course, I don't. This is the 9999...99th time you asked me this question, mom. I don't and please stop asking!" "Ok, fine! But remember to come home this Thanksgiving. If you are not, don't even bother to call me your mom." Her mom sarcastically said. Krystal rolled her eyes "Yes, madame!"
Back to reality, she looked at Ellie talking nonchalantly and shook her head. "...and then he took her to the park outside and gave flowers to her. Isn't it cute?... I wish I could do more for the two before the girl's surgery next week."
"Aren't you too busy to worry about their love story? I thought you have to check some patients before your lunch break." Krystal raised her eyebrows.
"Yes, I will do it. But did you hear the news?" Ellie tried to change the conversation
A soft "nope" from Krystal while she was reading the record. "We are having a new vice-president, replacing Mr. Rogers who will be retired soon." Ellie excitedly said.
"I don't have a problem with that since this doesn't affect me. However, I do have a problem if you continue to gossip instead of doing your jobs."
"Oh, sorry! I'm going now. Bye, ma'am!" Ellie saluted and walked away.
"It's actually Doctor." Krystal softly said and smiled at Ellie even though the young lively girl couldn't hear.
~Flashback to August 2015~
"No, I don't want to go. I don't need it." Krystal refused. "This is ridiculous. Why are you doing this?" Downstairs in the kitchen, Aiden Woods and Elena Woods could hear their daughter shouting at her friends. They were used to these kinds of loud noise since Krystal knew how to talk.
"Honey, what do you want for dinner tonight? Steak or Roasted Oysters. Actually, I'm thinking of Cog Au Vin" Elena Woods looked at her husband. "Whatever you like, sweetheart." Aiden Woods smiled and looked at his wife full of love.
"Such good friends I have." Krystal glared at her two bestfriends, Anna and Rudy. "You will thank us later. Now let me fix your dress...and finally, pick the right shoes for you." Anna excitedly said. While Rudy on the other side was trying to look up for something on her phone.
"Ok! Listen carefully, Krystal. Don't be too nice, don't order too much, and do NOT laugh too hard." Ruby emphasized.
"Yes yes yes, I got it" Krystal rolled her eyes, sounding like she listened to whatever her friend said.
"Ok now let's go!!!" Ruby and Anna exclaimed.
