It's finally the day. She was so happy just by thinking about it. She would finally get to meet her best friend Noah , who was studying abroad. It's been three years since he was away and he is returning home after graduating.
She had known him since she was little. They grew up together. Yeah... they're childhood sweethearts. They're neighbours and bestie's. She always had a little crush on him. But never had the courage to confess. But as time passed that little crush turned into love. And without her knowing he took away her heart. She had always felt that he also likes her. So she decided to confess today. It was so suffocating to keep it inside. So she decided to tell him how she feels. She thought that if he doesn't have feelings for her, it's finally time to move on.
"Lillian... dear they said they will be here in any minute"
The voice of Miss Susan made her flinch because she was deep thought. Miss Susan is Noah's mom. Our mothers have been best friends since highschool.
"Okay aunty" she said grinning from ear to ear. Miss Susan laughed at her seeing her so excited.
Just as she was about to get up she heard the horn outside the house. They went to greet them.
But the sight she saw made her break her heart. There stood her two bestie's hand in hand. Sadie have been her bestfriend always and she knows it better than everyone else that Lillian loves Noah. Now she finally started to understand why Miss Susan said that they will be here in any minute.
Still shook from this she smiled at them sweetly. But only she knows that how her heart was breaking inside.
Noah and Sadie came and hugged his mother. They seemed so happy to see them. That's when she realised that she doesn't belong there at all. She wanted to cry so badly but doesn't want them to see it.
"Lillian aren't you going to give your best friend a welcoming hug?" Asked Sadie smiling. And hugged her. But Lillian was keeping herself from punching her in the face.
"She must be shocked seeing you guys. Lillian , Noah and Sadie are together. We didn't tell you because we wanted to it to be a surprise for you." Said Miss Susan smiling.
Finally it clicked to her that they were in the same University. She felt more hurt as her best friend never told her that they were studying in the same University. She felt betrayed.
"You guys talk . I will be in the kitchen."Miss Susan left them to talk and catch up.
Lillian felt herself fuming in anger and hurt. Tears started to roll down her cheeks.
"Sadie how can you two do this to me " Lillian asked. The pain was clearly visible in her eyes
"What are you talking about Lillian. Don't say nonsense. We have together since she saved my life, when I fainted in the snow mountain." Said Sadie.
Lillian felt like her world was collapsing. From the start because of Noah's poor health it was her who have been helping her all these times. And she felt hurt that it's her who saved him from that and ended up being in hospital because of that. She finally realised that while she was sick Sadie took advantage of the situation and made her move.
"How can you do this to me bitch?" Lillian slapped Sadie hard on her cheek .
Noah pushed Lillian away and said.
"What the hell are you doing Lillian?. Where you always like this. Because of Sadie I was able to understand your true nature. When I fainted on the mountain you ran off without even a care. And you didn't even come to see me at hospital. How can you even be this cruel. You are such a nuisance and always clings into me, such a slut"
Sadie smirked at Lillian while being in Noah's embrace.
Lillian felt like her whole body was trembling. She stood up from the floor and glared at them.
"Don't ever regret what you guys did to me. And remember that karma is real" Lillian said and left from there.
She ran to her room and started crying. She felt disgusting that she loved such a jerk who doesn't even trust her enough that he believed someone's words without considering all the things she did for him. She felt like someone just stabbed her. Her two best friends betrayed her.
But she felt relieved somehow, that she was able to find their true self and finally she can move on from him.
She realised that we can't get everything we wanted in our life. Sometimes you just have to let go of things, people and memories to move on. It's the best for yourself.
One chapter of her life ended sadly. But she was sure that the upcoming chapter is going to be a new journey, a new start of happiness. *She realised that not every sad ending is bad, some of them are just the best starting of the new chapter.*
After the all this drama she felt happy somehow. She was so relieved. Slowly as the day started to fade away she fell into the dreamland. But little does she knew that heaven has already given her blessings and happiness in her next chapter of life.
