My name is Hikaru. I am 21 years old and a florist. Every morning, I water the plants and flowers in my garden.
Then, I ride my bicycle to a florist shop, the place where I work.The name of the shop is ‘Blossom House’. I was always happy whenever I went to the florist shop.
But at that moment, I felt like something bad was going on inside my chest. Tears started to come out from my eyes.
“What am I crying for?” I stopped the bicycle, then wiped my tears. “It is okay, Hikaru. Stay strong!” I smiled then continued riding my bicycle.
When I had arrived at the florist shop, I saw James, smiling with Helen. I decided to hold the pain inside my chest, then greet to them.
“Good morning!” I smiled.
“Morning, Hikaru!” Helen smiled widely. Her smile was so beautiful. No wonder James fell in love for her.
“Hey, Hikaru. Did you sleep well?” James asked me.
“Oh, yes. I did sleep well.” I smiled then walked to get an apron.
“Are you both going to buy some flowers here?” I asked them.
“Well, we are here to see you. We miss you so much, Hikaru.” Helen gave me a sweet smile, so as James.
I was shocked, and happy at the same time. I never thought that they would like to see me. That day was the day that I am not going to forget.
Those sweet words, coming from them, I will never forget about it. Although it was hurtful to see them being together, I was happy that they came to see me.
“You both are so sweet.” I chuckled.
“Helen, are not we suppose to be going now?” James asked her. Helen got shocked.
“Eh, what time is it?” She then looked at her watch.
“Oh, no! We must get going now. Hikaru, we are truly sorry that we must leave. Goodbye, Hikaru. We will see you tomorrow.”
They ran so fast till they tripped over. I could not help, but laughed. They both are so sweet, and nice.
I just realized that even though I was sad that James and Helen were in a relationship, I must be grateful to have friends like them.
Days passed, I was at the backyard, watering the plants and flowers. That day was very special.
“Today is my birthday! I cannot wait to see James and Helen.” I smiled widely.
When I wanted to continue watering the plants and flowers, I heard a sound from my door.
“Who is that?” I thought.
“Hikaru, this is Helen!” I started to smile wider. I ran from the backyard to my house, then opened the door for her.
“Hey, Helen. Come in!” I shouted to her.
“Woah, calm down.” Helen chuckled.
“Are you here to celebrate my birthday?” I asked her with a smile.
“Of course! But, we will celebrate it somewhere else!” Helen said.
“Oh, really?!” I said cheerfully.
Helen nodded while smiling.
“You better change your clothes.”
“Okay, I will!” I said.
Time passed, I decided to wear a sweater with a long black coat, and sneakers.
“Sorry for making you wait. I am done now!”
“It is okay tho. I do not mind. By the way, you look so innocent, Hikaru.”
“Huh? Are you sure about that?” I chuckled.
“Yeah, I am very sure.” She smiled widely to me. I was so happy that Helen came.
“Let us go now.” I smiled to her.
“Yeah, let us go!” She said cheerfully. We both went out, then started to walk.
“So, where are we going?” I asked her.
“It is a secret.” She said.
“You make me curious, Helen.” I chuckled.
She grabbed my hand, then started to run.
“Woah, do not run too fast!” I shouted.
“I am very sure that you will be happy to see James!” She said, while running.
“Of course I will.” I thought in my mind.
When we reached our destination, I got tired.
“I am very sorry for making you feel exhausted.” Helen said.
“It is fine tho.” I chuckled.
“Well then, here we are!” Helen looked at me with a big smile. As I looked at the view, I got shocked. A place with full of flowers.
“Thank you, Helen.” I smiled.
“Your welcome. Do not forget to say thank you to James too.” She said.
“Where is he?” I asked her.
“He is there.” Helen smiled while pointing to someone.
“Ah, James...” I thought in my mind. The way the wind blowed his hair, made my heart beat so fast. When Helen looked at James, I could see that big smile on her face.
“I wish I could be you, Helen.” I thought.
“Hikaru, come on. We will have a picnic together!” She smiled.
“Okay!” I smiled back.
We both walked, then sat down under a tree.
“Do you remember this place, Hikaru?” James asked me.
“Yes, I do. This place has not changed tho.” I said.
“You are right.” James smiled.
When I looked at James, my heart beat so fast. I thought James were looking at me, turned out, he was looking at Helen. I sighed then smiled.
“I will be back.” I told them.
“Eh, where are you going?” Helen asked.
“I am just going for a walk.” I said
“Oh, okay then. Do not go too far.” Helen told me.
I nodded, then started to walk. I walked without looking at the back, because I knew that I would feel heartbroken. Tears started to fall from my eyes.
I wiped my tears, then started to run. I kept running without looking back. I tried my best to hold the pain, but I could not. Tears kept falling from my eyes.
I kept running till I tripped over. I could not take it anymore. My heart fell apart. I decided to sit on the grass to calm my heart.
“Helen, I wish I could be you.” I said.
I had been sitting on the grass for few minutes. Then, I heard the sound of James.
“Hikaru, where are you?!” James shouted.
I got shocked. As I stood up, I looked at the back. James looked at me with a worried face.
He then started to walk. When he got closer to me, he looked at me.
“What is wrong?” He asked me while wiping my tears.
“Nothing, I am fine.” I said while smiling.
“Do not lie to me, Hikaru. Ever since I have been in a relationship with Helen, you started to change.” James said.
“I am okay, it is just...” I was speechless. I did not know how to explain to him. I was not brave enough to confess to him.
“If there is something wrong, you will need to tell me, Hikaru.” He said.
“I need you, James. I really need you.” I thought in my mind.
James then hugged me. I started to feel something inside.
“Today is your birthday, Hikaru. You are suppose to be happy.” He stroked my hair.
“I know that, James.” I hugged him tighter.
“Let us go back, shall we?” James asked me while hugging.
“Yeah.” I broke the hug, then looked at him.
“Thank you, James.” I said.
“Your welcome.” He told me.
We started to walk together. When I was near the tree, I saw Helen. She looked like she was worried.
“Hikaru, where were you? We were so worried about you!” Helen told me.
“I am so sorry, Helen. I was just trying to find some fresh air.” I said to her.
“Next time, try to always be together with us.” Helen said.
“I will.” I smiled to her.
“Well then, let us have picnic!” She started to be excited. James and Helen started to look at each other, then smiled.
“Oh, please. Not again.” I thought.
“Hikaru, let us eat.” James said.
“Okay!” I chuckled.
Days passed, I woke up, then watered the plants and flowers in my garden.
After I had watered the plants and flowers, I took a shower. Next, I took my clothes from the closet, then started to wear it. Finally, I went downstairs to make sandwiches for me, Helen, and James.
“I am very sure that they would love to eat it!” I smiled happily.
When I had made the sandwiches, I put it in my lunchbox. I went out from my house, then took my bicycle.
“I cannot wait to see them!” I said. I was riding my bike when some people caught my attention. I stopped my bike, then started to walk to them. When I had gotten closer, I saw someone lying on the road. As I looked closer, I was shocked.
“Helen!” I shouted. I walked to her, then kneeled down.
“Helen, please wake up!” I shouted while crying.
“What is going-“
A sound of a man caught my attention. As I looked the back, it was James.
“Helen!?” James shouted. He walked to near Helen, then stopped.
“Who did this?!” James asked with an angry face and tone.
“James, calm down.” I told him while crying.
“The person should have responsibility about this!” James shouted.
He then carried Helen while crying.
“I am so sorry, Helen.” James sobbed.
“Hikaru, stay here.” He said to me with a cold expression.
James started to walk. At that moment, I was speechless. Helen was the one who helped me through a lot of times, what should I do without her?
Days, months, and years passed. Yes, Helen passed away. James had been depressed for such a long time.
Every time he laid on his bed, he would look at the picture of Helen and him. To be honest, I did not want to see James in depress. At that time, I looked at James. He was in his bed, looking at the sky.
“I miss her.” James said.
“Me too, James.” I told him.
I started to come closer to James, then sat beside him.
“I care for you, James. I really do. So please, do be depressed. I love you, James.” I then hugged him while crying.
At the moment, I could feel something inside James’s chest. It was like the sound of his heart beat so fast.
“James?” I broke the hug, then looked at him.
“Helen was right.” James smiled. He then pulled me closer.
“James, are you okay?”
“I am always okay whenever I am with you.” James smiled wider.
“Thank you for being in this world, Hikaru.” James told me.
“Helen was so busy till she did not spend her time with me. Because of her work, she got stress, depressed, then started to cheat on me. I understood that she was in a difficult situation, but did she need to cheat on me?” James looked at me.
“At least we made beautiful memories with her.” I smiled.
“You are right.” He looked at me with a smile.
“Do not be depress again, James.” I looked at him.
“I will not.” He replied.
Few months later, me and James got married. We adopted a beautiful girl named Alessia Conor.
I am so happy that I can be with James. I never thought that I would marry him.
At that time, me, James, and Alessia were at a garden.
“James, do you love me?”
“Of course, you silly.” James chuckled.
“Daddy, how about me?” Alessia looked at James.
“Of course, I love you all!” James started to carry Alessia.
“Let us be like this forever, daddy!” Alessia grinned.
“Yes, we will always be forever like this.” I told Alessia.
“I love you both so much!” Alessia shouted.
Spending my time with Alessia and James, are beautiful. Every time we spend our time together, I feel like flowers bloom in my heart.
