What had happened when you had been in love but betrayed? That's what had happened to me.
Three months ago
"Run, Belle, run, you can't get late again!" I chanted again and again as I ran through the busy streets towards my school, trying not to bump into someone.
And what I was dreading happened. I bumped into a boy- sorry, guy- and fell down.
Strong as he was, he stood still, staring at me as I tried to get up. But with such an heavy bag...
Though the books I need to bring are not much, the bullies had forced me to bring extra books for them, so that they would not need to bring books and take mine from me.
The guy held out a hand, and I hesitated once before holding it.
He helped me get up and said, "I am so sorry. You fell down because of me."
His voice was like music to my ears, and I wanted the music to continue. But I was already late.
"No, it was my fault. I'm sorry." I apologised and started going towards the school again.
In the school, I got to know that the guy was my new classmate, and his name was Noah.
He was a good guy, and was very friendly.
In the recess, when I was having food in the canteen, he came and sat beside me.
"Hi." he said.
"H-hello." I strutted.
I felt my cheeks warm up.
He smiled.
"What?" I demanded.
"You are cute." he chuckled.
I stared at floor, embarrassed.
He laughed, "This pink colour on your cheeks is natural or...?"
"Did you come to tease me?" I asked.
"No. To be friends." he said and held out a hand.
I shook hands with him, "Friends, then."
He smiled.
Time passed by. It has been one month and I didn't even realize when time passed so fast.
Time for a party came, and I was invited by Noah.
"But exams are coming," I protested, "This is twelfth grade, and I need to score the best grades possible."
"We are in same grades, Belle, " he said, "If I can, why not you?"
"But-"
"No but now, Belle," he told me, "You are coming and that's it."
I went to the party at night and sat in a corner with other girls, getting bored. Noah was nowhere to be seen, and I was utterly bored.
The dance had started, and I was the only girl sitting now.
"Would you give me the honor to dance with you, beautiful lady?" came a voice.
I looked up and saw a man in front of me.
He seemed a sophomore by the height.
Though I didn't want to dance with anyone but Noah (I don't know why), because he wasn't there, I agreed to dance with the man.
"I am Jasper, by the way." said the man.
I had hardly danced for few minutes when a hand held my wrist and pulled me away from Jasper.
"Hey!" Jasper said.
"How dare you touch her!" Noah roared.
"Why can't I?" Jasper shouted.
I was so close to Noah's perfect chest, I could hear his heartbeats.
Everyone around had gone quiet. There was no sound in the hall instead of the shouts of the two men.
"Because she is my girl!" shouted Noah.
I froze.
He pulled me closer and shouted, "Mine!"
My life changed from that day. A lot. I was no longer the carefree single girl. I was a man's girl now.
And I liked it. I liked being with him.
It's his birthday. I had told him that I couldn't come, because I had to go somewhere. But to surprise him, I was there with a ring.
I was sure he would like it.
In his house, I saw a clearly different sight.
He was on his knees in front of another girl, holding a ring.
"Would you marry me?" He said, and these words from him for another girl made me feel like a thousand knives were stabbing me.
I stumbled back a step, and the ring slippers from my hand.
Noah turned to see me, and the smile on his lips disappeared.
I ran outside his house, crying.
Right there, I vowed never to see his face again.
Today
I am here, getting income for my published novel. The pain from Noah's betrayal is not much now, because I have moved on.
The novel is very famous because of its theme that is betrayal.
The story is about a girl who loved a man more than her life, how he proposed her in public in a party, how they started to spend a happy life together, how their life took a turn, how she was betrayed when the male lead proposed another girl.
At the end, she moved up, ending up becoming a writer.
The book she, i.e me, wrote was 'Love and Loss'.
