The moon was a lonely being.
Ignored for his black wings.
Even with the stars as his friends, they were never close enough to see.
He wanted to meet someone new, someone he could trust, someone who would help him, into being his shiny moon self.
Then he met the Sun, a being of light, of big white wings, so different, and yet, just the same.
The Sun would help the moon, their meeting of pure chance.
They became best friends, forever and evermore.
Of course the Sun had her own problems, that was much easy to see.
She feared getting close to the moon, for fear of burning him.
But the moon wouldn’t be put aside, neither would the Sun.
Even if they were far apart, distance drew them closer.
Without the Sun, he’d fall apart.
Without the moon, she’d burn out.
Their friendship was quite delicate, but their worlds are stronger every day.
The moon was a lonely being, that was much fine to him.
The Sun is a star too, but she shined out to him.
Through her, he has new friends.
Friends that he can trust.
All it took was one quick moment, when night and day collide.
He thanks her for that.
