"I know what you did."
Lucielyn looked at him, confuse. "What are you..."
"I know you cheated on me all this time," Lucas said, as he showed his smile.

Lucielyn and Lucas, what a happy couple they were. Their encountered each other when the first spring came out to say hello. He was her senior in college, 4 years apart from her. It was his last year before he graduated. He thought that he'll never get any girlfriend in college since he was a rather shy man, the one who always sat behind at the class.
While Lucielyn was a carefree and cheerful girl who had many friends. He fell in love with her at the first sight when he saw her at the canteen. He didn't waste his time and he asked, or more like threatened her guy friend, for her number. He was reluctant at first since Luciely already has a boyfriend, but Lucas still determined to get her number from him.
At last, he got her number. He looked at his phone and sent her a message.
"Hi."
What a naive man. Lucielyn looked at her phone and furrowed her eyebrows since she didn't even know whose number that was. So she put her phone back to her pocket and continuing her conversation with her best friends. He was waiting and waiting, until a moon came, but she didn't reply his message.
"Was it too short?" he mumbles, before he sighed and threw his phone to his side.
Ding
A message notification came. He opened his eyes and took his phone, and then he jolted from the bed. She replied!?
"Who's this?"
It didn't take long for him to sent her the reply.
"I'm Lucas." Sent.
Another short replied. He practically screamed at how stupid he was. But after that, they began to send each other messages everyday. Until he suggested that they should meet in person. She agreed and they met in front of her class. Oh how happy he was when he met her crush.
...💖...
He looked at her thoroughly. He liked her long and black hair, it matches her white skin and her pink lips, like she was born to be a beauty. Her smiled melt his heart. When they shook hands, he amazed of how small and soft her hand was. When he heard her chuckles, he let go of her hand.
"Hi. I'm Lucas."
She smiled softly at him. "I'm Lucielyn."
"Yeah, I know," he said. Him trying to sounded cool turned 360 degrees to cold.
The guy beside her rolled his eyes and sighed. "Lucy, let's go before the limited bread sold out."
Lucas glared at her companion, a tall and thin guy with brown skin. Yes, she didn't alone to meet him, she was with one of her best friend. A guy named Jason.
"Okay, wait, Jason." She told him before she looked at Lucas and smiled. "Well, I have to go now."
"Oh... O... Okay," he smiled awkwardly as he cursed his stupidity and her noisy companion.
"Well, I'll see you later, Lucas."
A sparked of hope. This time he smiled genuinely. "Yes, see you later."
It felt like magic for him. They exchanged messages and called each other for a long time until their ears were hurt. It has been a week since they met, Lucas was finishing his last class today and he was with his friends as he exchanged messages with Lucielyn.
"Hey, are you done with your class?"
"Not yet. Mr. Han's literature class is so boring and this cold is killing me."
Lucas frowned. "Are you sick?"
"Nah, it's just a cold. It'll get better when I got home and rest," she lied, just so that she knew what kind of man he was.
"What time does your class done?"
"In ten minutes, I guess. Why?"
"I'll pick you up."
"What?!" Lucielyn shouted.
"Ahem."
Lucielyn looked up to her lecturer, he glared at her and all she could do was just smile. What else could it be? After the lecturer focused back to his laptop, Lucielyn tugged her best friend's, Becca, hand and showed her her phone.
Becca read it for a while before she smiled at her.
"So, you made your first move, huh?"
Lucielyn shrugged. "I just want to test whether he is a good man or not."
"By pretending to be sick?"
"Well... yes?"
"At least wipe your lipstick and pretend a little, you silly girl," she giggled.
Lucielyn and Becca were gathering their stuff when Lucielyn saw a shadow of someone she definitely knew in front of her class.
"Becca." Lucielyn poked her best friend hand.
"Hmm.. what?" she responded while shoving her things to her small bag.
"Becca, Becca!" she shook her body.
"What?!" she answered, annoyed.
But Lucielyn didn't care about her, glaring at her, as she quietly pointed at Lucas.
"Oh, he's on time."
Lucielyn nodded and giggled. "Looks like I'm going to got home earlier."
"Good for you. I have to take bus, shit happens."
Lucielyn hugged her best friend and kissed her cheek. "Bye bye, jealous girl."
..💖..
Lucas was standing in front of her class as he played with his phone. He hanged his jacket on his bag. He arrived on time as per usual. He doesn't like to wasted time. Lucielyn's class ended 3 minutes late from the schedule. He looked at his watch.
"Did I make you wait long, Lucas?"
Lucas turned his head to the sweet voice beside him. "Nah, just three minutes."
"Pfft."
Lucas furrowed his eyebrows. "What?"
Lucielyn shook her head. "Nothing."
"Let's talk as we walk."
"Okay."
Lucas glanced at her. "Ahem," he cleared his throat. "Are you okay?"
Lucielyn smiled. "Why yes, I'm okay now."
"Well, that's good then."
"Do you have something else to do?"
"No, why?"
"Well, I'm okay now so maybe if you are busy, you don't have to drive me home."
"No. I'm free," he replied, fast.
"Beside, I do want to drive you home," he said, honestly. His words made Lucielyn's cheeks red.
...💖...
One fine day at college...
"Lucielyn," Becca called her.
"Hmm?" She responded as she wrote something on her book.
"Hey, Lucy. Lucy. Lucy. Lucy," she kept calling her name, softly since their professor was there.
"What?" she finally turned her head to face Becca who sat behind her.
Becca chuckled when she finally got her attention, though she was annoyed. "Hey, Jason say he want to say something to you."
Lucielyn looked at Jason who sat behind her. "What?"
Jason and Becca smiled at each other. Lucielyn clicked her tongue and putted her attention back to her book.
"Lucy," Jason called, softly.
She turned her head to him again as she frowned. "What? I'll kill you if you..."
"I like you."
Lucielyn widened her eyes. Like being strucked by lightning, all she could do was just staring at him before she responded with... "Huh?"
"I like you," he said it again as he laughed.
"What the..." then she looked at Becca who laughed too. "You dimwits," she chuckled as she curse her stupidity, there was no reason for him to like her even though the three of them were bestfriend for years, so she calmed her heartbeat.
"No, no, it's true. I really do like you."
"Yes, he do like you, Lucy. He told me that today and I told him to confess to you."
"Shut up," she said as she threw paper ball at the two of them. "You guys almost got me with your joke."
"No, it's not a joke. Believe me," Jason tried to convince her.
"Yeah, I like you too, Jason," she said as she smiled and looked at her book again.
After that, they didn't bother her again. And as always, for this past years, Jason picked Lucielyn up and went to college together.
...💖...
"...really, I don't know that this thing can happen as well. My professor fell in love with me," Lucielyn said when she was on the phone with Lucas.
"Then why don't you date him?"
"I would If I don't have a boyfriend at that time," she chuckled.
"Too bad, huh?"
"Yeah, too bad. If I date him, then I can ask him to up my grade."
Lucas chuckled. "I'd ask for the same thing like you."
"I know right."
Both of them silent...
"So, do you have boyfriend right now?" the silent broke when Lucas asked her again.
"No, I don't have one."
"Why? It's hard for me to imagine that you don't have at least three boyfriends with you."
"Is that an insult? Do you see me as an easy girl or something?" she asked.
Lucas knew that his joke went too far and she was upset with him from the way she spoke. It was the first time she spoke coldly to him like this, but that was his fault.
"No, no. I mean... it's a compliment... no.. I mean, you are so beautiful, so there is no way that you..."
"Lucas."
"Y-Yes?"
"Gotcha!" she said as she laughed. "Oh my gosh, you are so cute. It's okay, I don't fell hurt with your joke."
"R-Really?"
"Of course."
"I don't want our relationship to ruin because of my stupidity."
Lucielyn laughed. "It's okay. Calm down. It's not like we're dating now."
"What if we are?"
Lucielyn kept silent for a while. "What is that... mean?"
"Do you have a boyfriend now?"
Lucielyn shook her head, but then she realized that she was on the phone with Lucas so he didn't see that. "No, we already broke up not long ago since he was a jerk."
"So, are you single now?"
"Well, yes."
"Wrong answer."
"Huh?"
"You do have a boyfriend."
"Huh? No, I don't. I told you that..."
"I'm not talking about that jerk. I'm talking about me."
"What?"
Lucielyn's mind was blank as she tried to understand his words one by one. When she finally got the point, she gasped and closed her mouth with one hand. Her cheeks and ears were as red as tomato.
He confessed to her!
...💖🚶🗡️...
As usual, Jason picked Lucielyn up so that they could go together. Jason glanced at his best friend who smiled at her phone.
"You seems to be in a good mood today."
"Really?" she putted her phone on her lap and touched her hot cheeks.
Jason smiled at her. "What a cutie," he said as he pinched her cheeks softly.
"Shut up."
After a while they finally arrived at college and went to canteen to buy some food since they were arrive to early and there was nobody in the class. Jason and Lucielyn held hands, just like they usually do.
"We shouldn't hold hands like this again in the future," she said lightly as she ate her bread.
Jason looked at her. "Why? It's not like you have a boyfriend now, right?" he teased her.
"Well..."
Jason stopped his step and looked at Lucielyn's red face. His heart beats fastened. "Lucielyn?"
Lucielyn smiled widely at him. "I'm dating Lucas now!" she said, overjoyed.
Jason then pushed her hand away from him and left her as he walked faster than her despite her calling.
"Shit!" he cursed.
...💔...
At the class, Jason was sitting far from her and talked with the boys. Usually he would sat next to Becca, behind her. But all day long after she told him that good news, he seemed to be avoiding her. When she called him, he stayed silent and pretended as if he didn't hear her and continued to talked with everyone but her.
Becca noticed that Jason has been avoiding her best friend today, so she purposely sat next to Lucielyn.
"Hey, girl. What's up?"
"Well... as usual?"
"Nah. It's not," she said as she glanced at Jason, Lucielyn followed her gaze.
"Well, maybe not as usual."
"Is he avoiding you now?"
"Hmm."
Becca nodded. "Well, do you know why?"
Lucielyn shook her head. "How am a I supposed to know when he keeps avoiding me?"
Becca bit her lips as she saw her best friend pouted and made a doodle on the back of her work paper that was supposed to be submitted today. She was pondering whether to told her the truth or not.
"Damn," she cursed.
Lucielyn looked at her. "What?"
"Huh?"
"Why did you curse?" she asked as she erased the doodle on her paper.
"Lucy. Do you remember when Jason said he loved you?"
"Ah the one when he said that as a joke?" she hitted Becca's hand playfully. "You guys tried to prank me!"
"Ouch," she rubbed her hand. "That hurts."
"Serve you right," she rolled her eyes.
"But I'm serious now, listen," she said, Lucielyn looked at her again. "I admit that I was the one who told him to prank you by confessing. But you're being a bitch."
"Oh now, am I at fault here?"
"Shh! I'm not finish yet," she shushed her. "That confession was indeed a prank. But... later, I found out that he was serious about it."
"What do you mean?"
"This stupid girl, really," she frustrated. "He loved not he loves you for real!"
Lucielyn widened her eyes and then she laughed. Becca furrowed her eyebrows.
"Wow, you really are so convincing, Becca. There is no way that he loves me. We've been friends for..."
"For these past three years, yes I know," she interrupted her. "But how can you be so sure that there is nothing going on with you guys?"
Lucielyn stayed silent.
"Lucy, I say this as your best friend. That day's prank was not a prank. For me, it was. But not for him."
Lucielyn still didn't say anything and just stared at her paper.
"I'm sorry for the prank that I did, I told him to do that. But it turns out he do loves you."
"But... why now?"
"Because you still have a boyfriend before. You broke up, and then got back together again for years. And he was afraid after he confess, you would rejected him and avoiding him."
"Yeah, well, look who's avoiding me now."
Becca and Lucielyn stared at him. "I was wondering about that too. Why is he avoiding you now when you're single?"
Lucielyn glanced at Becca and bit her lips. Becca saw her expression's changed.
"What?"
Lucielyn smiled awkwardly. "Well... I'm not single."
Becca didn't respond to her for a moment before she gasped. "You have a boyfriend now?!" she screamed. Lucielyn hurriedly shut her mouth with her hands.
Jason looked at them.
"Wow. You really have no chance to be with her, Brian," teased Noel.
"Yeah, I know right. I have a crush on her for so long, but she never respond to my signal. It hurts, you know."
"Your signal is weak," Noel laughed out loud. "Isn't that right, Jason?"
Jason shifted his eyes to Noel and smiled. "Yeah, next time you should give her a better signal."
"Hey. You've been together I mean as a friend for so long now, so you should know how to give her a signal that I like her?"
"I wonder..." he said as he stared at Lucielyn who was bickering with Becca.
"I still don't understand how her brain and heart works. When I thought I know her, she seemed to be a stranger to me," he continued, there was a sign of hurt and betrayal in his voice.
Noel and Brian looked at each other. Jason looked at them and smiled.
"I like her too and she's unknowingly reject me even before I have a chance to confess to her properly."
Noel and Brian looked awkward. Jason smiled again and when his eyes met with hers, she turned away.
It was indeed hurt, he thought.
