It was a autumn day and it was pretty chilly, however I loved the cold breeze that would bring sweet smell of freshly baked apple pies. He loved those pies and I knew those were his favorites. I checked my pocket to find some rupees. It was enough to buy him his favorite apple pie. As I walked out of the store, two thin pair of arms wrapped around my eyes.
"Guess who am I?" the voice asked. I immediately knew who it was. "Dan, my boy," I smiled as I turned towards him and was once again mesmerized by his honey brown eyes.
"Guess, what these are?" I pointed towards the paper bag in my hand. "Apple pies!" he beamed and his eyes shone brightly.
"My man knows me the best!" he exclaimed and took the paper bag from my hand.
"Ofcourse I do Dan,"I gave him my most appealing smile. He grabbed my hand and we walked towards the park together.
Oh how I wish time could just stop here.
"You are late though but you brought apple pies for me, so you're half forgiven," he said with his eyes clearly satisfied.
"So, what do I have to do to get fully forgiven?"
"Hug me."
"Okay sure," I reached out to him and hold him in my embrace.
"When will you come back?" I asked him.
"Two months from now." he answered. A sudden glint of sadness in his eyes.
"I will miss you a lot, will you miss me?"
"Ofcourse I would."
And that was the last day we ever got to see each other with both of our souls present on earth. The next time I met him was two months later, on his funeral.
