I witnessed him fall for her. I helped him woe her. I helped her get to know him more. I was there when they dated. And now, he is at the altar waiting for her as she walks the aisle. She’s really pretty. She’s someone I can’t ever surpass no matter what. I looked at her man who embarrassingly wiped his tears of joy. As long as he is happy, I’ll accept defeat. I lost at the beginning anyway. I lost when I fell in love even though I knew it will not be reciprocated. If time will allow me to change the past, I will change it. I will not let our paths cross.
It was always you. I liked you the first time I saw you but as time passed, you seem not interested. So, when I saw her at the beach, I decided to pursue her. The thing is, she has similarities with you. As I spent time with her, I fell for her. But looking at you with sorrowful eyes as you are sitting down and looking at her intensely as she walks on the aisle, did I only realize that you might have felt the same. Tears forced their way out and ran down my cheeks. If time will allow me to change the past, I will change it. I will protect you and make sure you are always by my side.
It was never me. I felt it whenever you were with him. I never won your heart. You smiled your sincerest smile as you looked at him, horrified when he didn’t show up when you needed him, worried when he hurt himself because of his clumsiness, and saddened when he is sad. As I am walking on the aisle and seeing you crying as you stared down at him, my heart bleeds. If time will allow me to change the past, I will change it. Though it hurts, I’ll help you realize your feelings sooner. Then, not all of us would suffer at the end.
