As she walks through the abandoned castle, she had a strange feeling that someone is watching her.
Then, up ahead, she sees a painting on the wall of a fine young gentleman from the 1800s.
As she looks closer, notices that the eyes of the gentleman are following her every movement.
She stands there and stare at the painting, petrified with fear.
Then, one of the eyes winks at her.
The frame of the painting opened and the fine young gentleman steps out of the frame, holding a bouquet of roses in one hand and wearing nothing but a black mask and a cape.
With a smirk on his face, he approached her and stopped.
“So, my lovely angel, what has brought ye to this old castle?” he asked.
The apparition laughed at her. “And you shall,” he said. “I know what you’re wondering. I am the ghost of the castle. I am known by many names, such as ‘The Handsome Ghost of Castle A’ or ‘The Dark Knight of Castle Brucken.’
Just my friends call me, ‘Knighty.'”
“I’m so… scared. Please don’t hurt me,” she said in a shaking voice.
“That’s not a problem, my dear,” said the apparition. “Now, first things first. I will ask you a question, and if you answer correctly, I will release you. Do you accept?”
The young woman nodded, still trembling like a helpless bunny.
“Who am I?”
“A knight…”
“No.”
“Then a phantom?”
The man shook his head again.
“Then a beast?"
The young girl was starting to break her promise about not guessing.
“Give me another guess,” she said
The room started to get darker.
The girl’s heart started to beat faster as she felt the presence of something evil in the room. “I’ll give you one more guess,” she said.
“I am the Dark Knight,” said the knight.
“The Dark… Knight?” she asked.
“That’s right. Now, do you want a rose or not?”
She shook her head.
“Oh, you don’t want a rose?” asked the Dark Knight, sounding disappointed.
“No,” she said nervously.
“Then you shall not leave here alive,” he said, and pulled off his mask.
“NOOOOO!” yelled the girl as she woke up in a cold sweat. She was back in her room.
She found a bouquet of roses on the table, and her door was cracked open slightly.
Frightened and confused, she peeked her head out and saw the Dark Knight standing behind the door.
“See you tomorrow,” he said with a wink of his eye, and then closed the door…
