Well, anyways, enjoy the story....😋😋😋
Once upon a time, there lived a donkey named Dholu. He had a farm at the back of his house where he grew watermelons. Dholu's watermelons were said to be the tastiest melons of his town and everyone wanted to eat them once....
One summer afternoon, Dholu got a call from his village telling him to come back to village and help with his sister's wedding. Dholu was very happy to hear this as in his village, he wouldn't have to do the work and he could eat his fill, full of sweets....
But,then he became sad as his watermelons were about to ripe in a few days and will be ready to harvest but there will be no one to harvest the watermelons after Dholu is gone and all his watermelons will rot..
He was sitting on the stairs in front of his farm with his head down in stress. Monu the monkey was munching on a banana on his way home when he saw Dholu sulking. He came to Dholu's farm from the backyard door and asked him "why was he so sad for ??"
Dholu replied "my sister's wedding has come up so he has to go back to his village to help with the preparation of the wedding and some other works. But my watermelons were about to ripe and ready to harvest but no one will be there to harvest them."
Monu thought for a minute and said "that's it ?? If yes, then I can help you with this problem.
Dholu asked "how?"
Monu replied "I can help you guard your watermelons and when they are ripe I'll harvest them and keep them in the warehouse.
Dholu became happy again, he bounced back on his feet and thanked Monu for such intelligent idea
Then, he went inside and started packing for his journey back to his village.
Dholu finished all his packing and stuff till evening and was about to depart but then he stopped and gave Monu the spare keys to his house and his warehouse and then he left.
Monu started taking care of Dholu's watermelons, night came and Monu went to sleep.
Next day, Monu was woken up by the cold gentle early morning breeze and birds chirping. The air had a hint of freshness and moisture because of the river at the other side of town.
Within two days, the watermelons were ripe and ready to harvest. The sweet fragrance of watermelons filled the house. Monu's mouth was filled with water just to taste on watermelon. So, he took one in the kitchen ,cut it and then eat it.
Monu took a bite from the watermelon and immediately fell in love with that taste. He made it a habit to eat watermelons for his breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day by day passed by and soon no watermelons were left and none were harvested. Dholu was enjoying his sister's wedding to his fullest. He was sure that Monu will take care of his farm and watermelons..
But Monu ate all the watermelons leaving none for harvest. Monu wasn't sure when Dholu will be back so he was spending his days carefree.
Next morning, Dholu came back early from his village and went straight to his warehouse to check on his watermelons. He was shocked to see the warehouse empty so, he went straight inside his house to ask Monu "where he stored the watermelons ??"
Monu woke up from all the ruckus and saw Dholu standing in front of him. Dholu asked " where are the watermelons ??" Monu replied with a sigh "Dholu bhaiya, your watermelons wanted to go on a picnic so I allowed them and they went on a picnic."
Dholu knew that Monu was lying and his watermelons will never come back. He was frustrated but he stopped himself. Monu left after a while.
Days went by and it was getting really hot outside. It was the season of mangoes.
One evening, Monu came running into Dholu's backyard carrying a back full of mangoes. Monu said "This bag contains ten mangoes which I stole from Deenu Deer's farm, keep them with you. I will come back tomorrow to take them and I'll give you two mangoes in return. Dholu nodded.
The moment for which Dholu was waiting had come. Dholu opened the bag and eat the mangoes and shared some with his friends. He took the mango seeds and planted in his backyard. Next morning, Monu came to take his bag full of mangoes.
Monu rang the doorbell a few times and Dholu came.
Monu asked Dholu to return to his mangoes. Dholu became sad and said "Monu bhaiya, your mangoes wanted to go for swimming so I allowed them to go. I'll return them when they return." Monu was furious, he said "are you a fool ?? how can mangoes go for swimming ??" dholu replied politely "if my watermelons can go for a picnic then, your mangoes can also go swimming."
Monu was speechless and left in silence.
Moral- Tell a lie that's actually practical.
(What if Monu tried to get his revenge on Dholu ?? well that's a different story for a different time...)
Stay tuned for more....🙏😋😋
