To me, my life experiences are like comic stories. It is as if I have been abandon by the author who made me the main lead of his/her story. But, one of the most beneficial aspect about story and comic is that the lead always get to the final destination.
I am like an author. The author of my life, because I have the power to decide, agree, and disagree about matters concerning me. However, the Idiom "don't judge a book by it cover" seems to be the defination of my existence.
I once thought that I was the only one who looks weird in the presence of people who were different and taller than me, because I was too tiny and short. It was until I met the peeson I call today my best friend, that I knew, not only me have weird feelings about how people look at me.
The society is quick to judge and classify people based on their physical appearance.
The first time I met Anne, who is my best friend, was during a club meeting at my high school. We were making posters for an up coming event in school. After each and everyone of us were done designing our posters, the club leader asked Anne to help tape some of the posters around the school. Anne taped almost all of the posters on her own because she was taller than everyone and was the only one who could reach were the posters were suppose to be taped.
I remember that more than 50 percent of the club members asked her if she was and athlete. Just because of her high, people assumed that she was an athlete which in reality she wasn't.
Anne and I were a team during the club meetings for three consecutive time. Since we were together as a team, we started talking and sharing informations about our lives when we are off campus. We became friends from then until now.
This friendship has gone a long way because of our differences. Because we accepted and embraced who truly we are. Since we are different in a way or two, we always have new things to talk about.
Life is all about happiness and happiness comes when we find a reason within us to keep on smiling.
How the society view us doesn't really matter. What matters is how we response and act to the society's viewpiont about us.
What matters is our happiness and satisfaction, and not what the community think it is best for us.
The End.
