Lucy was a cute girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. Eliza was an average girl with brown hair and hazel eyes. They both were students in John High School and were best friends since childhood.
Lucy was popular for her beauty and kindness. But, a coin has two sides. Lucy was a back biter.
Lucy discovered that Eliza was verbally bullied. Hence, she back bites the bullies to avenge her friend. She even spread fake rumors about them. Though what she yearned to do wasn’t negative her way to deal with it was not right.
Eliza took the mean comments of the bullies, became more self aware and got jealous of Lucy’s popularity and beauty. She told the gossip spreaders of her class about Lucy’s actions as exaggerated devilish ones with pretended anxiety.
The news spread out like wildfire among Lucy’s praisers and others. One by one, everybody left Lucy’s side except one. Eliza didn’t left Lucy alone for some reason. She invited Lucy to her parties and got the image of an angel in her class.
One day, Lucy overheard the talks of some girls in restroom and doubted that Eliza was the one behind her bad reputation. That day, Lucy visited Eliza to confirm the truth of the matter because she didn't want to believe in what she heard.
Heartbreakingly, Eliza accepted everything after a long quarrel... Lucy spaced out for a few seconds. There was a complete blackout in front of her eyes. Her legs shivered and her eyes were filled with misery.
She asked Eliza in a sad and quivering tone,’’ W-why? Why you..did this to me! I thought that we were friends.....then..why?’’
Eliza’s eyes stared at the floor with guilt. She wanted to travel back in time and change her decision. She wanted to apologize but she felt so weak and pathetic that her voice couldn't help but justify her actions
"Just by standing next to you, I am compared...even my own parents compare us to the point I wish to have existed as you...Not like you will know what I mean!"
Lucy somehow controlled her emotions and ran to her house. As always, her house was filled with pin-drop silence. She went inside her room. She opened her primary school’s album and took out a photo of Eliza embracing Lucy when she falls down while playing. She took out all the photos of Eliza. And gradually, her album became empty.
After two weeks of absence of Lucy in class, Eliza decided to beg for her patheticness, not like she expected to be forgiven. But she lost her chance as Lucy's parents couldn't watch their daughter locking herself in her room with no room to discuss, she asked to transfer to another school and they agreed without any explanation.
