The pathway of Morality is set inner twain. A path bestowed to anyone, that is of pure intent or vile significance, in the end it is given to you the person themself to forge that call. Will you choose a genuine and decent life known as righteousness or will you partake in the path of pure anarchy, you the center of humanity is always given that choice.
Chapter:1
Choice
There's something quite ominous about this place. I a lonesome 13 year old girl have perceived tales about how errie and threatening the city known as Morality is, a metropolis cramp with grizzly incidents, crime and unapologetic murder. The exclusive thing is, it is completely the norm here. But you presumably asked yourself, isn't any other city or estate like that? Well i've noted stories of how very much every day was an event of terror in Morality.
People being savagely slaughtered left and right, how come you ask? Because of a sickness, a plague mind you, this plague turned people into monsters. Barbaric inhumane monsters, ones that were corrupted by pure madness. And although I've surely not seen any of these beasts in person, I will assure you the acknowledgment and response of the citizens of Morality make it quite believable.
So what was a noticeably young blonde curly hair and lonely girl like myself out in these grim frightful streets to undertake? I had nowhere to progress and no one that would offer protection for me. I've gone like this for 5 days now, and just realizing that it's a miracle that I'm still of the living, but I'm running out of time, I can feel it. "What am I supposed to do?" I utter, lying still on the ground, arms and legs tuck in as clusters of people walk past, not really sure on the kind of characters they were. In my situation what was there to do? What would you have done?
As I thought this, to my complete bewilderment, I was approached by an unannounced stranger. A man who appeared to be around his mid 30s, maybe 40s, who was slightly overweight with a black standard groom haircut and closed eyelids.
With his approachment I felt hesitant. "Excuse me young miss, but are you alright?" Said by the stranger as he tilted his head lower towards me.
I'm utterly uncertain on how to react, the intentions of this stranger could have been anything, for all I know he might have been one of those monsters I caught rumors about in Morality. The fear of that began eating away at me, I know I sound paranoid but when you draw breath in a city like this being paranoid is a virtue.
"Little Miss? Can you hear me?" The stranger asked, questioning me again. With tons of pressure handed to me I softly said to him.
"Ye–yes…" As I did, a smiled accompanied the stranger.
"Wonderful, I just want to know why you were sitting here all by yourself, alone on the streets in a place like this?" As he asked away, it was determined at that moment that I had to make a very Stern decision. Should I explain to him my reasoning or fabricate the truth? Either way only one of those two decisions could possibly aid me out of this mess and out of harm's way, or possibly not.
"I…" But which was there to pick? I don't have time to think on it, the clock was ticking and God only knows what this stranger had in mind.
"I… don't know…" I lowered my head down finishing that sentence, the fear not calming, maybe I could say to him I was waiting for someone, that could possibly do it, but before I had the courage to create such deception, the stranger suddenly said.
"If you're nervous. I'm sorry if I'm making you come off that way, I'm just very concerned right now. To see such a young girl all by herself in these streets, it's quite worrisome."
Being surprised I didn't know where to begin. His words sounded very sincere, and bothered, it made me gather some courage to tell this man what my reasoning for being here was.
"I don't have anywhere to go…" With that said I revealed my issue to him, hoping I didn't doom myself in the process.
"Nowhere to go? As in no place to stay or anyone to be with?" The stranger said, addressing the question.
"Yes…" I softly answer.
"I see, very unfortunate, have you at least gone to the police for help?" Hearing that from the stranger I felt a little frustrated since I knew that would be the first thing in which would be suggested to me.
"No." I expressed curving my attention away from the stranger again. "No? Are you being serious with me?" The stranger expressed scratching the back of his head. I was being serious, there's no way I could consider the option.
"I can't go to them, because if I did, they would send me back to that place." I explained looking him directly in the eyes even though his were close.
"Back there to that place?" He said as he was given an idea on my reply. "Yes, that place." I repeated again with the mere thought of that place shaking me to my core, it was the very reason why I was out here on the streets to begin with.
"I see, so this place must be real unnerving for you, is that right?" He asked squatting down face to face.
"It is." The cat was out of the bag. He knew my reasoning, why I was here and why I was in such a dire position, the questioned now was what was going to happen?
"I see than I have a suggestion for you." Said by the stranger as he place a finger up.
A suggestion? What could he have in mind? "Go to the church of Virtuous, young lady." The stranger said as he had a serious expression on his face meaning this was something to take into consideration.
"Church of Virtuous?" I uttered to myself while looking down at my boots. I never heard of this place but hearing the word church my heart felt slightly more relaxed for the first time in 5 days.
"This church is a safe haven perfect for someone like yourself since the church takes in all kinds of refugees and cares for them." The stranger explaining with a kind smiled convinced me that this had to be the answer to my problem, and that there was finally a light at the end of this dark tunnel.
"The church, where can I find it?" I asked with my eyes wide open showing the expression of pure curiosity.
"Head for the far east of Morality located at a hill near an angelic statue in 43 Moral lane." 43 Moral lane? I think I could get there with clear direction awareness, with that I believe it was entirely possible for me to make it there.
"Okay, near an angelic statue on a hill, alright!"
I said standing up with pure motivation and expectations, this was my chance, there was no way I was going to miss out on an opportunity to find safety.
"Excellent, you look prepared and animated, different from how you were before." Said by the stranger.
I have you to thank for that, If what you were saying was truly an option for me.
"Thank you, because of you there's hope for me now." As I said that the stranger stood up as well from squatting all day.
"Anytime, but to be honest if I had a family of my own, a wife and child per say, I would have offered you to come and live with us."
Was this person serious? He would do that for someone like me?
"But seeing as how that is not the case here, bringing you to live with me alone would be extremely immoral and sketchy, so this is the exact best thing for you, head for the church."
"Thank you alot mister!" I then bow, expressing my gratitude to him immensely.
"Good luck." The stranger waved to me while walking away.
I soon took off after our discussion, enthusiastically racing through the streets of the city, heading to that exact location.
But meanwhile as the same stranger from before was walking off, he had then slightly opened his closed eyelids as he continued moving through the grim streets.
Meanwhile 15 minutes had passed back with me as I had arrived at 39 Moral street near the outskirts of the city, where more small houses were presented instead of buildings, almost looking more like a village instead of a city.
"This is the far East of Morality on the outskirts? So then the kind gentleman from before said that this church was on a hill near an angelic statue." Uttering that I began looking around closely to notice a bit of a hill in the distance, with that I followed and started moving closer to this distant hill.
After 5 minutes of running, I soon noticed a statue in the far distance.
"I see something now, it looks like a statue with angelic wings!" Saying that I knew this had to be the place, so I ran over pass a couple of homes that I wasn't too far from. It was there when I ran past a woman who was in Black with sunglasses carrying a suitcase.
"Huh? Was it my imagination or was that kid heading to?" The woman questioned as she tilted her sunglasses and revealed a beautiful sky blue eye color, watching me race over towards the statue leading to the church I was told of.
3 minutes later, I arrived near the statue where I finally saw the Church of Virtuous in clear sight.
"I think I did it, I've made it towards the church!" I said as I rewardingly smiled with my arm placed on the angelic statue looking at the church from there, I all of a sudden took a step back and observed the statue up close.
"But this statue, It does looked pretty worn." The statue itself looking pretty rusty, with it being hard to make out what I was seeing. It looks like no one bothered to polish it from the ancient look of if all.
"This statue must be centuries old." As I noticed that, I quickly snapped out of my gaze of looking directly at the eyes of the statue and focused myself back on my objective.
"Right, let's do this!" I said gently, slapping my face. I had soon arrived towards the church entrance and began knocking on the door.
"Hello, is anyone there? I'm looking for somewhere to stay for a bit and heard this was a safe place!" As I yelled while knocking at the door, I received no reply whatsoever wondering if anyone heard me, so I kept on knocking.
"Hello?!" Still no answer, I was beginning to feel at a loss. "Is no one really?" (No, I've come too far to back away now.) I thought reassuring myself as I pressed myself onto the door trying to open it, and with little effort I managed to do so.
"Hello?" I looked inside to see that the entire church was completely empty and by its appearance alone, had been abandoned for a while. The Hall ransack, the lunette windows shatter, The chandelier destroyed.
Was this the right place or was it just a hoax all along? The questions began piling up one after the other as I thought as deeply as I could. But before I could question any further I heard a familiar loud creaking sound coming from the church's entrance.
"Is someone there?!"
As I made my presence known to whoever was at the entrance, I was hoping they would be my answer to finding safety but, who appeared at the door was someone I was truly not expecting.
"It's you?!" I said as if I was hit with a wave of immeasurable unpredictability.
"You've made it here! Fantastic!" The voice of which had spoken was none other than the stranger from before.
At that moment I absolutely couldn't tell if this was a good sign or…
