"Scarlet," a voice called out in the dark.
A young woman with shoulder past wavy hair turns around. Her eyes widen in disbelief at the sight of the person standing before her. She ran with all her might and hugs the person tightly in fear of losing them. They pat her back to reassure her that they weren't going to go anywhere.
"Andy..." she cried out in a small voice, "...Is it really you...?"
He nod at her as he gently pat her head, "Its me, Scarlet."
"This isn't a dream...?" she refused to look up at him as she snuggled in his embrace.
Andy gave out a small chuckle, "No, it's not."
"I saw you died..." she cried out, "You were ripped into pieces and died before me...!"
"That was just a nightmare," said Andy as he stroke her hair to the side of her ear, "I'm right here standing before you aren't I?"
She nod at him as she pulls away. He wipes away her tears and lift her chin up to face him. He leans in and kisses her. His warmth was real. Even his touch was the same. It must have been a nightmare just as he told her. Her eyes closes as their kiss deepen. When they finally pull away from each other, Andy places his hand against her cheek. She snuggles against his palm.
"I love you Scarlet," he smiles at her.
Scarlet smiles back at him, "I love you too."
She kisses his palm and closes her eyes. As she slowly opens her eyes, Andy disappeared from her sight. Scarlets heart sank in when she saw nothing but pure darkness. She looks around frantically for Andy.
"Andy... Andy...! Andy!" she called out to him, hoping that he would answer her, but there was no reply.
Her whole body shook as her breath shorten. She tighten her fist and screamed out his name more and louder. And then suddenly, a bright light wraps around her.
"Let... Scar... Let.... Scarlet... Scarlet...!"
Scarlet jolts awake from her dream and was greeted by an older young man with a beard. He looked like a bear. He was staring at her with concern in his eyes.
"Derek...? What...? What happened?"
He helps her up from her bed, "You were having a nightmare."
"I was...?" something trinkles down from her cheek, "Tears...?"
"Are you alright?"
Scarlet wanted to say that she was, but nothing came out from her mouth. Its been a long time since she dreamt of Andy. His touch and warmth felt so real even though it was just a dream created from her memories. She held her hand against her chest and cried out as loud as she could.
Derek had no idea why she was crying, but the only thing he could do was just pat her back as a sign of comfort. Her wavy hair was no longer wavy but straight. And she was no longer in a place where she could recall her memories of him wherever she goes. She was thrown into a new world, and watched as her lover die giving up his life for her.
