“It must be peaceful. I wonder why that plant looks like it has three moons and a small ring around it…”
A young woman was watching as they passed another solar system.
“It would be nice to visit a planet or a moon. Maybe the scenery would be pretty there.”
Leaving her window the woman walked back and forth.
She wore a long green dress and hand her hair neatly combed.
Inside her glass box, the young woman made an effort to be active.
After a while she became tired and sat down.
A door opened and a man entered.
“…”
He set the tray in motion. It quite literally floated into the glass box all by itself. The food on the tray did not spill. One might have thought the tray passed a barrier because of magic.
“This looks good…” said the woman half to herself, “I suppose, I should eat it.”
Picking up a the fork, the woman began eating the tomatoes from a lovely bowl of salad.
“Delicious.” Said the woman.
She ate the rest of her food silently. The man merely watched her eat.
No expression on his face.
Returning to her window view the woman sat down quietly and pretended to be distracted with the flying bits of rock and ice.
The tray magically floated out of the glass box and returned to the man.
Oddly, this was not the most unusual thing.
The most unusual thing had to be the man himself.
He was not a man.
At least not a human man.
He was far too beautiful to be considered human.
Something inside the woman instinctively gave her this feeling. She knew he was a robot masquerading as a human man.
He never smiled or laughed. He was never mad or upset. He had no emotion.
Closing her eyes, the woman suddenly felt sleepy.
“Oh no… not again.”
Struggling to get up, the woman held her throbbing head.
He had a habit of doing this.
This AI was something of a scientist. He enjoyed experimenting and testing different substances on her.
He didn’t always do it, but today seemed be the day he wanted to watch her as some kind of entertainment.
Everything was dizzy and blurry.
Flopping to her bed the woman covered her head with the pillow. It was too bright.
She moaned in pain and began crying.
What the hell did he fed her?!
Her body felt hot and the headache was getting worse.
“This is… too much… I can’t…”
The robot was watching carefully. He didn’t flinch when she began screaming or when she cursed him.
The young woman was sweating and putting a high fever in a matter of ten minutes.
It was insane how badly her body craved affection. She needed to be thrown into a freezing lake or else her passion would catch fire.
“I am, by all means… your entertainment.” Said the woman coldly.
She was curled on the bed shivering because the sweat on her body made her cold. Soft, warm breaths escaped her mouth.
“You think you are superior. I am in a glass box. You watch me whenever you are lonely. I am right, I can feel it…”
The woman covered her face with her hands and trembled.
“I don’t care to know why this seems to be entertaining for you. I’m not sure if you know this but your eyes are very expressive. You may not smile or say a single word but you stare too much… I don’t expect you to understand what I am saying or to care… but know this…”
The woman removed her hands from her face and glared at him.
“I know you are desperate despite your actions. You want me to give you something. You want my anger, my hatred, or perhaps even my fear. Of course, you will never have these things because they belong to me.”
Sighing the woman closed her eyes. Her checks were flushed and she was delirious. Laughing, the woman have an overwhelming sense of freedom. Something she had not had for the last few months.
“I can tell something is eating away at you. What it is, I don’t care to know. Why you abducted me from my home I also don’t know. Though it must be something extraordinary when you make such an effort to wear the face of a man. Anyone would know that you are wearing a disguise. This is not your real body.”
The man set down the tray.
Oh?
“Have I offended you Mr.AI?” Probed the woman, “Am I wrong? Please correct me if I am wrong.”
He stared at her. It was a cold look. The woman laughed again.
“See? I knew it. You act so arrogant and keep me locked in this glass box. The truth is you are nothing more than a sad excuse for a creature. You’ve captured a human woman to ridicule and embarrass. Too bad I am truthful to myself and not ashamed of my feelings.”
The woman tossed her head on the pillow and placed her hand on her racing heart. Closing her eyes she attempted to repress the intense emotions whirling inside her.
She was speaking boldly. This was unlike anything she had ever known before. He often gave her things that made her this way, but never this potent.
Rubbing her neck, the woman clenched her teeth as her thoughts kept racing around in her head.
It was too much to contain.
Gasping and panting, she felt tears stream down her eyes as more time passed.
Without even realizing, a hand touched her face and wiped away her tear.
The only she identified was that the touch itself made he feel better.
Opening her eyes she seen that alien tasting her tear with his finger. She was shocked.
“W-when did you get in?! Wait no, stay back!”
As the woman attempted to crawl away she was stopped.
The robot wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly.
It was both satisfying and unnerving for the young woman. The touch made her feel better, but then she began to feel uncomfortable that such happiness could be achieved with this creature. His beauty could not hide the darker traces of savagery his eyes. It was frightening.
“I am… alone.” He said.
Grabbing his arm the woman took a deep breath and exhaled. His hand was rubbing her stomach and this felt too good.
“I don’t care what you feel.” Replied the woman firmly, “you can’t bend me to your will. Love doesn’t work like that.”
“Love? I don’t want love. I hate being alone. That’s all…”
He leaned his head to her shoulder and brushed his lips against her skin. Jolting, the woman thought she was about to lose her mind. The smallest things could set her off.
He was doing this on purpose.
This lonely creature stole her from her home and placed her this glass box. The room was comfortable and the clothes she wore was divine. He wore a mask to make himself more appealing to her. He even fed her something to make her feel desperate to love him.
“You don’t want… my love?” Said the woman slowly.
“…”
The woman felt him tense.
“You are not being honest. Tell me the truth.”
He squeezed her arm and the woman grit her teeth to bare the pleasure. It didn’t hurt her. Not at all.
“I just want… you. I don’t care if you are mad at me. I will look after you better than any human man!”
The face he must have made would have been full of expression. She couldn’t see it because she was still wrapped in his arms. Her back was pressed to her chest and he would not allow to move.
“What pretty words.” Said the woman sternly, “but what right to you have to take me away from my home?”
“I saved you. The colony destroyed your planet. I am keeping you from them. They wanted to wipe out every single one of your kind because they simply were tired of your existence.”
“…”
“You don’t believe me.”
“Exactly.”
“Then I’ll prove it.”
He took out a small device. A hologram of Earth was revealed. Soon it was destroyed by a large spaceship. They shot a beam into the Earth and caused a massive explosion. It was like watching a video in 3-D.
The woman held her breath.
“That’s… why do I feel like you are telling me the truth.” A tear rolled down the woman’s face.
The AI let her go.
She slumped to the ground and cried.
“All this time I thought… my family was alive waiting for me, looking for me, but based on what I saw… they are…”
“…”
She looked up to him and grabbed his knee.
“D-did you save them like you saved me?”
The robot looked at her with his usual blank expression.
“I only wanted you, so I saved you. No one else.”
The woman screamed and began attacking him.
“You monster! What did you think would happen? After keeping me in the glass box for months feeding me whatever the hell you wanted, did you think I would let myself rip of my clothes and desire you? Did you think that I was so weak that my urge would compel me to want you?”
He only defended himself. He was not attacking her. The woman stopped pounding her fist on him and walked away.
She went to the corner and sunk down to her feet.
“You did this on purpose. Now I am alone. I have no one. Just like you. But that doesn’t mean I have to love you or anything like it.” Said the woman bitterly.
“…”
There was a long silence.
The AI creature was now mad. He looked directly at her and spoke.
“I saved your life. That means you are in my debt.”
“Oh?”
“A human does not live long. Your lives are short. I saved your life. So you should be grateful.”
The woman smiled.
“Technically, I should be dead with the rest of my family. Your selfish desire led me to this place. I can’t say if I am grateful or aggrieved. Either way I am too shocked to process it all.”
“…”
“Just give me time. I have a lot to think about.”
Finally, the young woman felt less restless and could hold a proper conversation without feeling her urges.
The AI was hesitant to go, but finally did so.
Once more the woman was left alone in her glass box and reverted to looking at her window.
“No one understands me now… who could ever…”
Passing by was a purple moon.
