Polly bobbled her head to and fro, letting her mind to non-chalantly drone miss heather out.
She scribbled what heaven alone knew onto her notepad.
Polly knew there wasn't actually anything to jot down, but right now she needed to be occupied or at least pretend to be.
Biology was anything but her favorite subject, and ever since they had started the new topic,Polly's relationship with the subject only got worse.
It seemed as if every single paragraph in the entire chapter was in line with Polly, making her more than a prime target for her classmates.
Sure, she laughed obviously just like everyone else, including horrible miss heather, the last thing she wanted was for them to know it hurt.
Rudely interrupting her "Notting",miss heather read a line from the stupid textbook.
"Thyroxine is a growth hormone, which is responsible for growth in the mammalian body"
That did it.
"Are there foods you could take to lower your thyroxine secretion?"it wasn't an inquisitive question, it was just a question aimed at hurting polly.
Tears stung behind her eyelids as she began realizing how much Cole was succeeding.
"Actually, thyroxine secretion can't be exactly lowered but there are food help maintenance of your thyroid gland"
Polly gripped on to her pen,her fingers piercing into her palms, distracting her shorter than momentarily.
"Foods like sardines, sunflower seeds, sea weed etc"
Cole placed his chin over his folded fist, running his hand through his blonde hair, turning to get a better view of Polly's bowed head.
"What do you think uh polly,I could nip you some sunflower seeds from my mom's bird feeder, yea?"His stupid swiss accent bouncing off the class walls and coming back sounding much more stupid.
The whole class erupted in laughter,it was like he had just told the greatest knock knock joke of all time.
Polly turned just as red as her hair, which served as a lovely curtain against the real world.
"Or, there's this lovely asian restaurant downtown, I'm sure they'll be selling seaweed something" he shrugged indifferently as he tried peeking underneath polly's hair looking for some sort of reaction.
The class had their cue and kept howling like mad dogs.
Polly gripped on to her skirt, and pulled away from her desk, heading for the door.
She kept her head bowed, keeping eyes on her feet making sure they don't trip over each other, she turned her neck in such a way that Cole couldn't see her face.
Her vision was blurred up, but she could make out some things, like the reddish addidas sneaker that placed itself in front of her left foot.
She stumbled as she continued her way towards the door.
"Easy now piggy,we don't want you tripping now, yea?" The mock in his voice was beyond raw.
And so was the laughter that followed.
Polly ran now, through the class, out the door and down the hallway.
She didn't care for miss heather yelling after her, she didn't care that she might get a terrible telling off for ignoring the ever so many "no running in the halls" posters, she didn't care that she was loosing breath and she especially didn't care about stupid Cole who couldn't stand not always getting what he wants.
