A life in one's arms
When I found him I sensed something different about him. The floor wasn't tiled, his eyes lingered on the unflattering floor before looking at me. He smiled in reflex, but it didn't really feel like a smile.
"J-June," he called me and I proceeded to walk towards him. "What's the matter? ..Why are you.."
I halt my steps, and I saw the corner of his mouth slide down a crimson color of blood. My chest pumped with unease until I realize what was happening.
Before I knew it, my feet was moving on their own, when I saw him fall to the ground my chest stings so much I could only clench my jaws. I ran to him and I wish I could just appear by his side completely. I was holding him in my trembling arms on the floor. I struggled to speak from the start, lamenting on Sedrick's poor state.
"Whoo.. did this to youu..." I dove in his chest shedding tears.
He tries to caress my back with his failing strength, tried to utter some words of comfort but it was no use. Sedrick was bleeding for too long and the blood had already rushed into his lungs that he was almost drowning in his own blood. He coughs up blood into June's suit numerous times until passing away.
June was traumatized by the life he treasured the most finish its last breath in his own arms but was helpless in distress to have known that he couldn't protect the only thing he treasured.
