What is love but a war of hearts?
We crash and burn and rise above all,
We tumble upon life looking for the one,
Knowing better to rather stay alone.
What is love but a delusion of emotions?
We break some and some break us.
Risking emotions on someone we barely know,
Years worth of tears we spend crying all alone.
Risking our hearts over someone we just met,
Knowing more than enough to see it was a nasty bet.
What is love if not the abyss of hurt?
We hold onto strings too thin to support us.
We hold onto people that were never meant to stay,
We hold onto feelings that lead us astray.
But even in it's imperfections, we still decide to love,
Because when we do find our someone, it's all that's worth.
We enjoy the little things we fail to notice,
When we are with them, we forget about the scars that once held our heart.
So love is indeed worth it all,
Because in the end, when all is gone, it is the happiness that stays in our hearts.
