I met my first love in 5th grade and I instantly knew that there was something special about him. We had been friends for years and as we entered high school, I started to notice that my feelings for him were growing stronger. He was everything I could ever want in a partner: sweet, funny, and always there for me when I needed him.
As the months went by, I couldn't help but feel these strong feelings for him. I would catch myself smiling whenever I saw him or thinking about him all the time. My heart would skip a beat every time our fingers touched and I couldn't help but feel butterflies whenever he was around.
I tried to push my feelings away and tell myself that it was just a silly crush, but I knew that it was so much more than that. I had fallen in love with my best friend and I knew that I had to do something about it.
Despite all of these strong feelings, I knew that it was going to be difficult to tell him how I felt. The thought of losing him as a friend was too painful to bear, but I knew that I couldn't keep this secret bottled up forever. I had to take a chance and tell him how I felt before it was too late.
