My robot told me, "Actually I'm a human being"
I looked at it strange, while I requested it to peel the oranges on the nightstand, and asked, "No, you're not. I'm a human being, and you're not the same as me."
The robot had already finished peeling the oranges that he brought the tray to my bed. He stood still for a while and after some consideration, maybe, he asked, "Then what makes you and I so different? Aren't we the same?"
I was shocked. After quite a bit of hesitation, I replied, "Well, we are still different because we humans can think on our own...?"
"But I do that too. You asked me to peel the oranges and I did, I thought the best outcome would be to do what you ask to not make you angry." The Robot replied.
"That's an order. You need an order to function. But we humans don't."
Maybe that was good enough a distinction?
"So, why do you take orders from your 'boss' at work? Does that mean, you're not human either?"
"N-No that's not..." I had no idea what to say to that. "It's the life factor, you know. We humans can do everything, we bring people to life (doctors), we create machines (engineers), we dig up gold (mine-workers), we teach the new generation students and pass on all the knowledge we, the previous gen has gathered to the younger ones (teachers), and there are a lot of other stuff I guess... So, you know..."
The robot stopped for a while, collected the words he'd retaliate with, and replied, "It's the science factor for us then! We are the beings that the doctors need to save patients (techincal equipments), we are the computers that the engineers use to built new stuff (super-computers and AI technology), we provide the accurate place where the miners have to dig to get the gold (Techincal geographical equipments), we do the homework and assignments fot thise students that the teachers educate, we help them in learning (ChatGPT, Grammarly,etc.)... Oh, so now I get it. We aren't humans! And I'm not a human being. Rather, I'm the future human, or a human 2.0"
And hearing a Robot make all those listings, I was left completely speechless. But who was to blame, that was the era we are headed towards! When humans would be replaced by human 2.0s.
