Dear Joshua,
Hey, it’s me Asheley. Been a while, you’re probably busy doing
CEO stuff and won’t see this letter. I’ll be leaving in two
months. Just wanted to tell you. You were ‘the wind beneath my
wings’. I did this with only good intentions in my heart. Joshua
Brown we will meet again.
- Forever,
A.Sanders
Asheley Sanders sat on the hospital bed looking as pale as ever.
She wrote the letter and smiled. It was a letter to the first man
she'd loved. But she broke his heart so he wouldn't feel the pain
of her death. 1 months ago she was at the prime of her life and
suddenly “Ms. Sanders, you have 8 months left to live.” she
could still hear the words in the back of her brain everyday.
After that day she did the one thing that hurt her more than what
the doctor said. She stood in front of Joshua. She looked at his
perfect face and beautiful blue eyes and she felt her body going
numb. “ I NEVER LOVED YOU. ONLY THE BENEFITS I
COULD GET.” her words were as cold as Antarctica. Which
left Joshua Brown frozen in time. She ran before he could ask
anything. “It’s better this way.” she whispered under her breath
as she tried to justify her actions.
A month passed and she only got worse news “ Instead of 7
months you now have 2 this is moving way faster than we
predicted. You will have to stay in the hospital to be observed.”
the doctor said as he tried to not look into her pitiful eyes.
She sat on the hospital bed and looked at the blue skies. “I
wonder how the wind feels beneath those birds wings.” she
thought to herself. Suddenly the door was pushed open. “How
are you today? Ms. Sanders, will anyone come to see you?” the
nurse that entered asked. “They will come tomorrow. Can you
mail this letter for me please?” her voice was as weak as ever as
if she would pass away at any moment. “Sure no problem at all.
I bet you’ll be happy to see them.” She took the letter but little
did she know that the pitiful little girl she saw lying helpless on
the bed had caused all kinds of drama to let any and everyone
hate her. She didn’t want anyone to miss her; this was her
‘reason’.
A few hours later there was only a faint breathing, then there
was none at all. “Asheley Sanders, pronounced dead at 20:08.
Contact her family.”
How are you today?
