I stood there in front of the ball room. There were girls every where surrounding the men.I put on my mask and walked in. Everything went silent. Was I that bad looking? A guy walked up to me and held out his hand.
" Do you want to dance milady?" He look me straight in the eyes like he was piercing through me. I slowly gave him my hand. When I did he grabbed It and pulled me into a embrace.
His hand was holding mine and his other slowly touched my waist. He smiled delicately and started to dance. I moved as he did. Following his lead. I felt all eyes on us. I didn't care how many people were looking at me. I wanted to make a memory I wouldn't forget. I think I have it right here.
He leaned his face towards mine. So close I could feel his breath on me. He dipped me grabbing onto my thigh in such a delicate and sensual way. After that dance I went outside. It was such a beautiful night why wasn't anyone admiring it?
-----------------‐---------------------------------------------------------------
I saw her walk in the room. Pale white skin and a white dress. It matched her perfectly. She had a mask that shined through all the rest. I couldn't resist myself as I walked up to ask her to dance. She slowly gave me her hand. I pulled her in. She had such small thin hands. Cold white skin, She didn't talk at all just followed my lead as we danced. I saw her look over to the other people. As she did I dipped her. Grabbing onto her thigh as she feel back. Her skin was so cold, So delicate. It was beautiful, she was beautiful.
After we finished dancing other girls tried to talk with me. But after that girl I wasn't interested in anyone else but her. She stepped outside, I saw her hair blowing back as she looked up at the sky. I slowly went outside and asked " Isnt it cold out here?"
She shook her head.
"Such a beautiful view, such beautiful sounds. How could I be cold when there are such warm things"
Her voice was so gentle. She looked at me and smiled. That was the first time I heard her talk.
"Why did you come to such a party milady" I asked wanting to know. I saw her open her mouth then close it once again. Like she was going to say something then decided not to. She looked at me with calm eyes.
" I wanted to hide from the world. Here no one knows you, They can't tell who you are. Your just strangers that are trying to find something. This world is so unfair. It causes people such pain and sorrow. But also love and happiness, it's so confusing I can never figure it out"
She held her hand up while looking at the stars. I was a complete stranger. She was a complete stranger. But why do I feel a need to comfort her?
Why do I want to know more.
"Yes indeed, this world is confusing. So many uos and downs but more downs then ups. Tell me, what have you been through to say these things? Tell me who are you?" I asked as she still looked up at the sky.
" I am not someone you should bother asking about. I'm just a lowly person. I guess I should end on this note" She look at me and smiled.
" The sun will warm, the moon will shine. The people will contribute to this life. Love is happy but hurtful too. If you fall to deep. Everyone may come for you. Look into people you mustn't. Looking into me is a no. Just forget while I leave on this note."
She grabbed my hand and kissed it softly. Then gave me a soft smile and jumped off the balcony. I peered over to see if she was alright, but she had already left. With a kiss on the hand and the words she said still resounding in my mind.
