"What do you know about her?"
Jei stared at the guy in front of her, then glanced at her wrist, locked by a handcuff, she ignored the question, she lets out a small laugh that sounded like a scoffed.
"Did I killed somebody?" She asked, tilting to look at him, she lifted both her wrist-pointing it out. He took a deep exhale, the cold air from the air-conditioning cooling his nostril.
"You created her. So you're part of it." He stated, voice calm, his eyes wavered at the way Jei look at him, or more like a glare. Jei cut the intense atmosphere when she groaned squeezing her eyes close before opening it again.
"Are you fucking with me? I didn't even created her. They stole the idea—" she paused then scowled. "Forget it." She mumbled, eye's trailing down the chain on her wrist.
"The one who stole your ideas are dead. Who's more unluckier?" A woman's voice made Jei turned her neck to see who it was. A tall woman, with white hair, probably in her 30s. Wearing professional uniform. Red lipstick, and glasses. The woman smiled at her before walking towards Gate, then pulled out a chair to sit beside him.
She raised her brow at the woman before rolling it. "You killed them?" She asked but sounded like a statement.
Jei glanced at the big glass attached on the wall at their left.
The woman, who was Naori, Gate's partner, eyed the girl who's chained, she noticed how dark her eyebags were, dry lips that she kept licking every five seconds, straight hair with layers, the color of orange with different shades of orange itself, bangs, length just above collarbone, baby blue eyes. She looked like those people who have issues with everything, and snapped at every little things.
And not to mention, her eyes, it was as if it's already glaring without even trying.
"We didn't killed anyone." Naori replied with a slight humor to Jei's, trying to lighten her tensed mood, but that owned her another sigh from Jei while she fully faced Naori. "You guys clearly broke some of my stuff in my apartment. And took me here without explanation. What for? I can report you guys, you know that?"
"We'll take care of that." Gate reassured, he adjusted himself from his seat, Jei followed his movements, as he pulled a black case, opening it, then took an envelope.
"What's that?" Jei asked, looking at the envelope then back at him. He cleared his throat, then pulled out papers, he placed it on the table, spreading it together like cards in front of Jei.
It was papers, and even photos, of the scratched and draft designs of someone.
Naori's red painted long nail, tapped the paper. "This is the proof that you designed Yui." She said.
"What's your point?" Jei leaned on the chair's back casually. "Is that why you guys attacked me in my apartment?" She bitterly asked.
Naori and Gate glanced at each other before looking back at Jei who's eyes looking dead straight at them. It looked like it could spawn Satan itself.
"Those who stole your ideas are Robin and Matthew, right?" Gate asked.
Jei narrows her eyes.
"They're both found dead just a week ago, but they were probably been dead for months now." Naori stated.
"Woah-woah. You think I killed them because they stole my ideas?" She scoffed. "Fucking bullshit."
Gate's face hardened.
"No. We know you didn't killed them."
Jei stood up abruptly. "Then why am I here!?"
Naori took a deep breath.
"Matthew and Robin wasn't the only one who died. The music entertainment company of where Yui worked... All of the manager... Producers... Some staffs. And more, they all died."
The information seems to get heavy around the air for Jei, she slowly sat down, her eyes caught the papers on the table, the papers of designs of Yui. Sweat begins to appear on her forehead.
"They're all gone. And later on, we've been seeing more people dying, missing, but they only seem to be people who's.. involved in the making of music. In every different company."
Jei looked straight at them, eye's slightly wild.
"So... What is it to me?" She gritted.
"We suspected that... She was the one who killed them all. Yui."
She laughed.
"Is this funny to you?" Gate gritted his teeth.
"Yui did it? But she's fucking dead. For months." Her voice were loud echoing through the room their in, the edge of her lips twitching. "Why would the legendary singer... Kill her own company?" She added, sounding disbelief yet, it was as if it was the most obvious thing.
"Exactly... That's why we need you."
Naori looked at Jei sternly. "There's money-"
"I'm not the one who created Yui."
