Future Vision System ep-1

Romance;Fantasy
My name is Kai.
It all started on the day of my last exam.
I sat by the classroom window, tapping my fingers against the desk while staring at the clear blue sky.
"It's been years since I last played that game..."
A small smile crept onto my face.
"When I get home today, I'll download it again."
Maybe it was because the exams were finally over. Maybe I just wanted to revisit a piece of my childhood.
After the final bell rang, everyone rushed out of school, celebrating their freedom. I went home, took a shower, grabbed a snack, and downloaded the game.
When it finished installing, I logged into my old account.
The familiar background music played.
Then...
A notification appeared.
You have 1 unread message.
I frowned.
"Who would message an account that hasn't been online for so long?"
I opened it.
The sender's name froze me in place.
It was...
The girl who had once broken my heart.
She was a few years older than me. Years ago, I had confessed to her in this very game.
She accepted.
For three short days, I believed I had found my first love.
Then she disappeared without a word.
Before leaving, she only said one thing.
"I won't be coming back."
Even then, I replied,
"I'll wait for you."
And I did.
Six months later...
She logged in again.
But she didn't come back to love me.
She came back to end it.
"I'm sorry... I can't be in a relationship."
That was all.
My first love ended before it had even begun.
I deleted the game soon after.
Now, years later...
The message waiting for me read:
"I'm sorry. I think I hurt you more than I realized. I don't want you to suffer because of me. I don't want you to lose trust in other girls. If you can... please forgive me."
I stared at the screen for a long time.
Then I typed my reply.
"It's okay. I forgive you."
A few seconds later, she replied.
"Really?"
"Yeah. But promise me one thing."
"What is it?"
"Live a happy life."
There was no reply for nearly a minute.
Finally...
"Idiot... You should live a happy life too."
I smiled bitterly.
"Yeah... I'll think about it."
After that day, I deleted the game again.
We never spoke for another year.
Until the day everything changed.
It was raining so heavily that none of us could leave the college campus.
The rain slammed against the classroom windows while strong winds howled outside.
Only one teacher remained with us since it was his last class of the day.
Suddenly
The classroom door burst open.
A powerful gust of wind swept through the room.
The lights flickered.
Then, in the middle of the classroom, something invisible slowly became visible.
It wasn't a ghost.
It wasn't human.
It looked like a tiny floating blob made of glowing water.
It looked around before speaking.
"It's been a thousand years since I last visited this world."
Silence filled the room.
"This time..." it continued.
"I've come to show you your futures."
The classroom fell into complete silence.
No one dared to speak for a few seconds.
Finally, one of the teachers stepped forward.
"...What are you?"
The tiny floating creature blinked.
"You may call me a System."
A student in the back suddenly raised his hand excitedly.
"Wait... a System? Like the ones in manhua?"
The little creature tilted its head.
"Oh? So you're familiar with Systems."
The student nodded rapidly.
"Of course! I read a lot of manhua. I never thought they were actually real."
The System smiled.
"Interesting."
Another student couldn't hold back his curiosity.
"So... why are you here?"
The System floated to the center of the classroom before answering.
"I descend into this world once every thousand years."
"A thousand years ago, I appeared before another group of people, just like you."
"I allowed them to witness the future of anyone they wished to see."
"And today..."
"It's your turn."
The entire classroom erupted into whispers.
"Seriously?"
"Does that mean we can see our own future?"
"What if I become rich?"
"What if I become famous?"
The teacher raised his hand.
"May I participate too?"
The System looked at him before shaking its head.
"You cannot see your own future."
"Why?"
"Because your future has already been decided. You're already an adult with a stable career."
"Only teenagers, university students, or those whose futures haven't fully settled may view themselves."
"However..."
"You may choose someone else's future."
The teacher thought for a moment before smiling.
"Then... I'd like to see my little brother."
The System snapped its tiny fingers.
A glowing circle appeared in the middle of the classroom.
The next second...
A young man wearing a dark trench coat suddenly appeared.
He looked around in confusion.
"...Huh?"
He stared at the teacher.
"You look exactly like my big brother."
"Wait..."
"Did I just travel back in time?"
The teacher's eyes widened.
"It really is you!"
The young man scratched his head.
"So... what year is this?"
Ignoring the question, the teacher hurriedly asked,
"What are you doing now? What's your job?"
The young man smiled proudly.
"I'm a detective."
The teacher let out a relieved laugh.
"I'm proud of you."
"I always thought you'd end up unemployed."
The entire classroom burst into laughter.
The little brother frowned.
"Seriously? Is that the first thing you say after seeing me?"
The System cleared its throat.
"Your conversation time is limited."
"You only have five minutes."
"I still have many people waiting."
The five minutes passed quickly.
The glowing circle appeared again, and the future version of the teacher's little brother disappeared.
After that...
One by one, the students stepped forward.
Some chose to see themselves.
Some wanted to see their parents.
Some chose their rivals.
Others wanted to see their girlfriends or boyfriends.
Each future lasted only five minutes before the person returned to their own timeline.
Eventually...
The System looked toward the back of the classroom.
"Next."
"My turn had finally come."
The System looked at me.
"Who do you want to see?"
Before I could answer, my best friend suddenly wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
"I want to see my bro's future!"
Before I could stop him, a girl in our class scoffed.
"Him? What future could a dummy like him possibly have? He can't even get himself a girlfriend."
The classroom burst into laughter.
I didn't respond.
No one here knew about the girl I had met in that game years ago.
My best friend ignored everyone's teasing.
"Come on, bro. Let me see what you'll become."
The girl crossed her arms.
"Maybe he'll become an unemployed bum."
Ignoring her, I looked at the System.
"I actually want to see someone."
"Who?"
"A friend."
"A friend?"
"My game friend."
Someone immediately shouted,
"Wait... you have a girl friend?"
Another student grinned.
"Dude! Is she your girlfriend? Why didn't you tell us?"
The same girl who had mocked me rolled her eyes.
"You seriously think a girl would date someone like him?"
I calmly answered,
"She isn't my girlfriend."
"She was just... someone I once knew."
The System nodded.
"What is her name?"
"...Luna."
"Understood."
Just as the System was about to summon her, my best friend suddenly shouted,
"Wait!"
The System turned around.
"What is it?"
"I changed my mind."
"I want to see his future instead."
The System blinked.
"You only have one chance."
"Are you sure?"
My friend nodded without hesitation.
"Of course."
"If he becomes a billionaire CEO, I'll become his assistant."
The whole class laughed.
I sighed.
"You're unbelievable."
The System floated into the air.
"Very well."
A brilliant light filled the classroom.
A tall figure slowly stepped out.
Silence.
Complete silence.
The man standing before us looked almost exactly like me...
Only much taller.
Much more muscular.
His face was sharper.
His eyes were calm.
He wore an expensive black suit that screamed wealth and authority.
Even the girls who had ignored me before couldn't hide their surprise.
"...He's handsome."
"So this is his future?"
"He's insanely attractive..."
My best friend proudly pointed at him.
"I told you!"
I walked toward my future self.
"How's life?"
He answered calmly.
"Normal."
"Are you happy?"
"...Yes."
"Are you married?"
"No."
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No."
"Children?"
"No."
A boy suddenly shouted,
"Wait... are you gay?"
My future self looked at him expressionlessly.
"No."
"I simply don't have any interest in dating."
I hesitated before asking,
"Is it because of... her?"
He looked at me for a moment before shaking his head.
"No."
"I almost forgot about her."
"I don't hate her."
"I simply don't care anymore."
The System interrupted.
"You have only two minutes before the next person arrives."
It snapped its fingers.
Another light appeared.
A woman slowly stepped out.
She was beautiful.
Long black hair.
A white shirt beneath a prison uniform.
A black mask covered the lower half of her face.
The atmosphere around her was completely different from the gentle girl I remembered.
She looked dangerous.
The future me froze.
"...You."
I looked at him in confusion.
"You know her?"
He glanced at me.
"So this is the girl from the game?"
Then he looked back at her.
"Why are you hiding your face?"
The woman chuckled softly.
"So..."
"Mr. CEO."
"The innocent little boy I met years ago became one of the country's most famous businessmen."
"I've seen your face on countless magazine covers."
Future me smiled faintly.
"And you're the criminal everyone's talking about."
"The woman who only hunts psychopaths."
She laughed.
"Hahaha..."
"So you figured it out."
She slowly removed her mask.
"Then..."
"I suppose I'll have to kill you."
The classroom instantly panicked.
"What?!"
"A criminal?!"
Future me didn't even flinch.
Instead...
He took out a small ring box.
"Marry me."
The classroom fell completely silent.
She stared at him.
"...What?"
"You want to marry a criminal?"
"You know who I am."
"I do."
"You've never harmed innocent people."
"That is enough for me."
"I still want to marry you."
Even my best friend couldn't believe it.
"Bro... she's gorgeous, but she's literally a wanted criminal!"
Future me shrugged.
"I know everything about her."
"And my answer is still the same."
The System floated closer.
"You both only have two minutes remaining."
The woman glanced at the System before narrowing her eyes.
"So..."
"You're the legendary System."
"I've heard stories about you."
"I never thought you truly existed."
The System remained silent.
She simply waved a hand.
"Whatever."
Then she looked back at Future Me.
"My type?"
"I like puppy boys."
"The kind who cry in front of me, beg me, and spoil me every day."
Future me smirked.
"That's fine."
"I already bought the ring."
He walked straight toward her.
"Let's get married."
Her eyes widened.
"I already rejected you!"
"Why are you still chasing me?!"
Without another word, she turned around and ran.
Before disappearing into the glowing light, she shouted,
"You'll never catch me!"
Future me smiled as he watched her leave.
The System sighed.
"Don't worry."
"When the five minutes are over..."
"She'll automatically return to her own timeline."
The future version of Kai glanced at his watch before frowning.
"...Shouldn't my time be over already?"
The System looked equally confused.
"It should."
Future Kai narrowed his eyes.
"...It's because of her."
The past Kai blinked.
"Her?"
"The girl."
"When she touched me earlier, she must have altered something within the System."
"My return timer has stopped."
"I don't think I'll be able to return until we catch her."
The past Kai looked surprised.
"But... how does she even know about the System?"
Future Kai shook his head.
"I don't know."
"But in my timeline..."
"She's known as the Ghost Criminal."
One of the girls raised her hand.
"Ghost Criminal? What's that supposed to mean?"
Future Kai answered calmly.
"It means everyone knows who she is..."
"But no one can catch her."
Another student frowned.
"Then why was she wearing prison clothes?"
"If nobody can arrest her, that doesn't make sense."
Future Kai chuckled.
"That's because she wears them by choice."
"She says it's a reminder that the world already sees her as a criminal."
The classroom became quiet.
The past Kai looked at his future self.
"You really wanted to marry her?"
Future Kai smiled.
"If I had known she was the girl from the game..."
"I would've proposed much sooner."
His best friend nearly choked.
"Seriously?"
The past Kai asked,
"Because she's pretty?"
Future Kai shook his head.
"No."
"In my world..."
"Crime reached a level you can't even imagine."
"A criminal organization controlled everything."
"They kidnapped innocent people..."
"Children."
"Parents."
"Anyone they could use as leverage."
"They destroyed countless families."
"The police couldn't stop them."
"So..."
"She did."
Everyone stared silently.
Future Kai continued.
"She hunted those criminals one by one."
"Drug dealers."
"Murderers."
"Human traffickers."
"Corrupt officials."
"Anyone who destroyed innocent lives."
The past Kai whispered,
"So... she became a criminal because she killed criminals?"
His best friend sighed.
"Exactly."
"She still killed people."
"So the law calls her a criminal."
The past Kai lowered his head.
"...But she still saved people."
His best friend looked at him before laughing.
"No wonder your future self likes her."
"You've already fallen for her."
Future Kai smiled softly.
"To me..."
"She's not a criminal."
"She's kind."
"She has never harmed an innocent person."
"She never asked anyone for money."
"And..."
"She's fiercely independent."
"Like a bird that refuses to live inside a cage."
The girl who had mocked Kai earlier crossed her arms.
"Didn't you say you never dated anyone?"
"Then..."
"Did anyone ever have a crush on you?"
Future Kai looked directly at her.
"...I remember you."
She froze.
Future Kai smiled politely.
"You're still not my type."
The entire classroom burst into laughter.
The girl's face instantly turned red with embarrassment.
The System suddenly interrupted.
"Enough."
"We need to repair me first."
Before anyone could reply..
Crash!
The classroom window shattered.
A familiar figure landed gracefully inside.
Long black hair fluttered in the wind.
She lazily waved at everyone.
"I'm back."
She looked at Future Kai before smiling.
"Oh?"
"Mr. CEO."
"You're still here?"
Future Kai smiled back.
"I've been waiting for you."
"So..."
"Have you considered my proposal?"
She rested a finger on her chin.
"Hmm..."
"I did."
"But you should know something."
"I'm a walking red flag."
Future Kai laughed.
"And?"
"What are you going to do?"
She stepped closer until they were only a few inches apart.
"If you ever leave me..."
"Or cheat on me..."
"I'll lock you inside a room forever."
"You'll never be allowed outside again."
Future Kai didn't hesitate.
"Sounds fine."
"I wasn't planning to leave anyway."
The past Kai slowly turned toward his best friend.
"...Am I weird in the future?"
His best friend silently nodded.
"...Very."
A girl whispered excitedly,
"A CEO romance..."
Her friend immediately corrected her.
"No."
"This isn't a CEO × y/n story."
"It's an obsessive male lead falling for a villain."
The System floated between them.
"Can everyone stop talking about romance for one minute?"
"Repair me first!"
It turned toward the mysterious girl.
"Tell me."
"What exactly did you do?"
She shrugged.
"Nothing complicated."
"I just pressed a few buttons."
The System gasped.
"You... what?"
"I know your viewing time has a limit."
"And I needed more time to fix something in this timeline."
"So I paused your timer."
"It isn't permanent."
"I'll repair it."
"But from now on..."
"Each future meeting will only last three minutes."
The System almost screamed.
"Three minutes?!"
"That's too short!"
She folded her arms.
"Five minutes gives the future too much time to reveal information."
"If people learn too much..."
"They can completely change history."
The System pouted.
"That's none of my business."
"I only show people their futures."
She smiled confidently.
"Well..."
"Now it is."
She pressed another glowing button floating in front of the System.
"There."
"Three minutes."
"Problem solved."
Future Kai couldn't help smiling.
"See?"
"I told you."
"She's adorable."
As the glowing light faded, both Future Kai and the mysterious girl returned to their own timeline.
The classroom remained silent.
Everyone was still trying to process everything they had just witnessed.
One of the girls rested her chin on her hand and sighed.
"...Future Kai is so handsome."
Another girl nodded in agreement.
"I should've talked to him more."
"What if he had liked me?"
A different girl laughed.
"Forget about it."
"There are plenty of boys in our class. Who knows? Maybe one of them will become just as handsome in the future."
"I'm actually curious about Kai's best friend's future."
Before anyone could continue, the System floated forward.
"Next."
The girl who had been mocking Kai all day confidently walked to the front.
"I want to see my future."
The System nodded.
"Very well."
"Since my settings have been changed, you will only have three minutes."
A beam of light descended from above.
Slowly...
Her future self appeared.
She looked elegant and confident.
However, her outfit was much more revealing than anyone expected.
Several girls quietly whispered to one another.
"...That's quite a bold outfit."
"It doesn't really suit her."
Ignoring everyone, Future Her walked straight toward her younger self.
"You."
"Date Kai."
The entire classroom froze.
The past version of the girl blinked.
"...What?"
"Make Kai your boyfriend."
Her face immediately turned red.
"H-Him?"
"I don't even like him."
"He's such an idiot."
Then she remembered the handsome CEO she had just seen.
She coughed awkwardly before asking,
"...Why?"
Future Her answered without hesitation.
"Because you'll need him."
"He'll be useful to you."
Kai frowned.
"I have no interest in becoming someone's boyfriend just because I might become successful."
"And besides..."
"You're not my type."
Future Her raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"Then what's your type?"
Before Kai could answer, one of the boys laughed.
"Obviously, his type is criminals."
Another girl immediately smacked him on the shoulder.
"Dummy."
"His type isn't criminals."
"It's independent women."
Kai's best friend crossed his arms proudly.
"Either way, you've already lost."
"Future Kai literally proposed to someone else."
"So stop dreaming."
Future Her frowned.
"It doesn't matter."
"He can still.."
Before she could finish her sentence...
Her body dissolved into countless particles of light.
The System calmly explained,
"Your three minutes are over."
The girl looked disappointed.
"...That's all?"
The System floated to the center of the classroom.
"My duty here has been completed."
"I have shown everyone the future they wished to see."
"It is now time for me to leave."
It looked around one last time before smiling.
"Perhaps..."
"We shall meet again."
"...One thousand years from now."
With a flash of light...
The System disappeared.
The heavy rain outside had already stopped.
One by one, everyone left the classroom.
But Kai remained standing near the window.
His thoughts were somewhere else.
Should I download the game again?
Should I send Luna another message?
...Or should I leave the past where it belongs?
He never found the answer.
•••
Eight years later...
Kai was twenty-six years old.
Just as everyone had witnessed that day...
He had become one of the youngest CEOs in the country.
One morning, while scrolling through the news in his office, a headline immediately caught his attention.
"The Ghost Criminal Appears Again."
"Several notorious criminals were found defeated overnight."
"The mysterious vigilante once again escaped before the police arrived."
As always...
No one had seen the Ghost Criminal's face.
The only thing captured by security cameras was a figure wearing a mask.
Kai smiled faintly.
"...So it's really you."
He looked out the office window.
"We'll meet again..."
"My future wife."
Knock.
Knock.
The office door opened.
His best friend walked inside wearing sunglasses and a cap.
Now, he was one of the country's most popular celebrities.
"Bro."
"You saw the news, right?"
Kai nodded.
"The Ghost Criminal."
His friend sighed.
"So..."
"Are you really planning to find your future wife?"
Kai stood up and picked up his coat.
"I've already made my decision."
"I'm going to her country."
His friend widened his eyes.
"Seriously?"
"My next filming project starts in a few months."
Kai smirked.
"A few months."
"Not tomorrow."
"We'll only be gone for a month."
His friend folded his arms.
"Just because you have a future wife doesn't mean I don't have a life."
Kai chuckled.
"Oh?"
"Do you finally have a girlfriend?"
His friend immediately looked away.
"No."
"But I'll get one someday."
Kai laughed.
"Sure."
"Keep dreaming."
He walked toward the office door.
"Come on."
"We're leaving today."
"...According to the news, crime in her country has nearly disappeared."
"I want to see the woman who changed an entire country."
End of Episode 1.(hope u all like it)
