Amanda was walking down the hallway toward her class room, it was 5:47pm, and she was ment to be playing volleyball outside with her team mantes, but she forgot her biology text book in class and tomorrow there was a test about cells.
She was practically spreed walking at this rate, the hallways after school was very creepy and silent. The classes were empty except for the ones that had clubs in them.
She finally reached her class 3C. She was about to open the door when she heard sobbing from inside. She froze not knowing what to do or how to react. She peeped into the classroom and saw someone sitting on a desk on the first row, she couldn't see who it was, cus they had there head down on the desk. She could see that they were trembling a bit, it was a boy, judging by the uniform. She saw beautiful golden locks of hair, there skin looked smooth and tanned.
She slowly entered the room and tiptoed to the back where her desk was hoping that whoever it was won't notice her and she didn't have to console them. She got her books and turned ready to sneak back out unnoticed. She froze again beautiful green eyes where staring straight at her.
She didn't know what to say so she said the first thing that came to mind.
*"Uhhhhhh..."*
*"What?"*
*"Hi, I was just.. I forgot something and.. I.. emm..are you ok?"*
*"I..I don't know."*
She sighed there was no way around it she had to console him, whoever he is
*"I'm Amanda. And you are?"*
*"Kevin.."*
*"Do you need someone to talk to?*
She asked hoping he would say no or ask me to mind my own business. But as luck would have it,he didn't.
*"I won't mind that"*
He seemed to lighten up a bit, but there were still tears in his eyes but he looked like this made him less sad.
She started draggingg a chair and brought it closed to his but she slipped on a random paper on the flour and fell down. She groaned in pain, it didn't hurt much but it was annoying the amount of times Amanda could fall in a day.
*"Are you ok"*
He asked getting up and standing in front of her looking down, Amanda could see the Conner of his lips tilting up in a smile.
*"What are you smiling at?"*
She said but there wasn't any real bite to it.
*"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...I was.."*
He blabbered getting flustered fumbling for words, hoping that he didn't offend her. She burst out laughing at how nervous he became after on sentence, he blushed but laughed to.
*"Hey do you wanna go get an icecream, as an apology for smiling?"*
He asked cheerfully. He had gotten better and had seem to forget why he was crying before.
*"I'm sorry ,but I have to get going I have volleyball, but next time I see you I will make sure to spare some time"*
*"Oh..ok sure, I won't take any more of your time you should to to your volleyball practise."*
Even do he said so, Ananda could see that he was sad, his green eyes darkened like for just a moment he had forgotten why he was sad, but that moment was over
*"I mean I could stay an extra five minutes"*
She saw his eyes light up immediately, he helped her up and they sat together, and before she knew it they where chatting about the most random things, animals, facts, school ,colours in the rainbow etc. And time flew by.
*"Well I missed volleyball"*
Amanda said getting up looking at the time she spent 36 minutes talking to him about stuff that don't make sense and....she liked it.
*"I'm sorry"*
He said felling guilty for making her stay
*"Don't worry it's no big deal"*
*"Are you sure"*
*"Yeah and besides who wants to spend the time in the sun hitting a ball over the net"*
They both laughed.
*"Can you stay a bit more?"*
*"No I have to get going or my mom will kill me"*
*"Oh ok, do you wanna walk out together?"*
*"Sure"*
They walked to the school gate before going towards different directions, as Amanda walked home she couldn't help giggling at the memory of the wierd stuff they chatted about.
*"Mom I'm home"*
Amanda said as she opened the front door.
*"Welcome home dear, how was practise?"*
*"I didn't go, sorry"*
She said walking to the kitchen to give her mom a hug.
*"Huh?, Then why are you so late?"*
Her mom asked returning the warm embrace.
*"You remember I texted you about leaving my books right?"*
*"Yeah you did"*
*"Well I saw someone crying and well, I stayed to cheer them up"*
Amanda said pulling away from the embrace.
*"Awww, that's so nice of you, I'm proud, but did you get your books back"*
Amanda froze, during the chat and laughter with Kevin she totally forgot about her books and she even left her bag. Aghh.
*"Oh no, I totally forgotttttt!!!, And the test tommorow!!!."*
Her mother laughed. Amanda frown not thinking it was funny, but her mom's laughter was contagious and she couldn't help laughing too.
Amanda went up to her room and jumped on the bed. Since she didn't have the materials to study she want to her best friend. Chatgpt.
She was able to study a decent amount even though she didn't have her book, she went to sleep with her phone on. And for some reason dreaming about the wierd encounter with the tanned boy.
In the middle of the night she woke up hungry, she checked her phone it was 2:47, and her battery was almost dead, she charged her phone then went down stairs, still sleepy, she opened the fridge and took out instant noodles, she reached for a pot to boil water but then.....
Booommmmm
Her mother came rushing down the stairs, mopping stick in hand. Then she saw Amanda and sighed
*"Honey are you okey?"*
Amanda was in the ground surrounded by pots but luckily she wasn't hurt.
*"Yeah??"*
*"How many time do I have to tell you, wake me up if your hungry, unless you wanna kill yourself*
Her mom said taking a pot from the ground rinsing it and putting water in it to boil, before helping Amanda up.
Amanda sat down as her mom made the instant noodles for her.
*"Eat up and go to bed, honey"*
Her mom said than left, Amanda eat the Noddles and left the stuff in the sink and climbed the stairs back to her bedroom.
The next morning she work up late cus her phone was on silent, he practically multitasked her way getting dressed, brushing while dressing, eating egg sandwich while looking for her phone which she swore she left on the charger, after finding it under her bed, she bolted out of the house
*"Mom byeeee"*
She already missed the first two periods and now she was sneaking into the classroom as the teacher had his back turned to them facing the black board.
But ofcourse luck hated her nd she was caught and got detention.
Great just great.
During break she sat with her friend Fay when she spotted the crying boy from yesterday, he was surrounded by boies and girls alike, he seemed pretty popular.
He was scanning the cafeteria as if looking for someone and when he spotted her his checks went bright red, he left his table of friends and practically the whole cafeteria had their eyes on him as he walked towards her.
*"Hey Amanda, can I sit down with you?"*
She didn't know why she thought so but he looked like a stray puppy begging it's master to pet him, with his big cute green eyes*
*"Sure, Kevin"*
Fay was acting wierd blushing ,palms sweating and well.. asking us our relation ship.
*"We are friends"*
Kevin and Amanda said at the same time, Kevin looked happy.
I felt girls glaring daggers at me and I didn't even know why.
After break we had the biology exam, and Amanda was a nervous reck, but the questions seemed simple enough. And soon it was all over. She asked the teacher if she could go to the bathroom.
In the bathroom there where some girls and she heard the whispering about her.
*"She's not even that pretty yet she's hanging out with Kevin, talk about desperate"*
*"Yeah I know, and she's not wearing any makeup so ugly, and look at her clothes she looks like she got dressed in the dark"*
When the girls were leaving I said loud enough
*"Omg, look at the plastic Barbie's, there sister probly played with them to hard they look terribly with all that foundation, so fake"*
They left glaring. Amanda soon found out why this was happening, apperantly Kevin is the most popular boy in school, and him following me around was my fault??
People are crazy and would make up anything to not face there own problems.
So instead of cowering like the world expected she hanged out with Kevin more, and he was more than happy with my company, and when girls try to insult her, she put them in there place.
Amanda and Kevin became best friends.
Kevin trusted in her more than his other friends.
One day when they where in the park. Kevin said.
*"You remember the first time we met?"*
*"Yeah, I left my book in class and you were there"*
*"Yeah,I was crying"*
Amanda stayed silent not sure if to speck up.
*"You never asked me why"*
*"Yeah"*
*"Do you want to know?"*
*"Only if you want to tell"*
Silence followed the he said
*"I was crying cus all my friends felt fake, and I realised that they don't really like me, they just my friends cus I handsome and popular"*
*"That most have hurt"*
Amanda said looking up at him as he looked back at her.
*"Your not like that right?"*
*"What ofcourse not"*
*"Thanks, for being with me all this time, wanna go for that icecream I promised you"*
*"Yeah"*
Amanda and Kevin walked towards an icecream parlar smiling and happy
