SHAHEEN: THE SHADOW WALKER
Part One – The Black Mansion
"Sometimes darkness doesn't hunt people...
It waits for people to walk into it."
---
2:13 A.M.
Rain poured endlessly from the black sky.
Lightning flashed across the forest, revealing an enormous abandoned mansion hidden among hundreds of ancient trees.
The locals called it...
Black Mansion.
For five years...
No one had dared to enter it after sunset.
Some believed it was cursed.
Others believed something far worse lived inside.
Most people simply stayed away.
Tonight...
A black SUV slowly stopped in front of the mansion.
The engine switched off.
The silence returned.
A middle-aged businessman stepped out of the vehicle, followed by his wife, their twelve-year-old daughter, and a real estate agent.
The agent forced a confident smile.
"Congratulations, Mr. Carter."
"If you buy this mansion tonight, you'll own one of the most valuable properties in the entire valley."
The little girl looked at the mansion with frightened eyes.
"Dad..."
"I don't like this place."
Her father smiled gently.
"Sweetheart, old buildings always look scary."
"They're just empty."
The little girl wasn't convinced.
She tightened her grip on his hand.
The real estate agent pushed the rusty gate open.
CREEEAAAK...
The sound echoed through the forest.
For a moment...
Even the wind seemed to stop.
The four of them slowly walked inside.
The mansion smelled of dust, old wood, and something...
Strange.
The giant entrance door suddenly slammed shut behind them.
BANG!
Everyone jumped.
The businessman's wife looked back immediately.
"What was that?"
The agent forced a nervous laugh.
"Old buildings..."
"That happens all the time."
But even he didn't believe his own words.
A cold breeze passed through the hallway.
Then...
Knock...
Knock...
Knock...
Slow footsteps echoed from the second floor.
The little girl's face turned pale.
"Dad..."
"Someone is upstairs."
The agent quickly switched on his flashlight.
"It's probably a bird..."
"...or maybe a stray animal."
He pointed the light toward the staircase.
The footsteps stopped instantly.
Silence.
Complete silence.
Then...
A little girl's laughter echoed through the mansion.
"He... He... He..."
Everyone turned around.
There was nobody there.
The businessman frowned.
"Who's playing games with us?"
No one answered.
Suddenly...
Every light inside the mansion went out.
Darkness swallowed everything.
The little girl hugged her mother tightly.
"I want to go home..."
A few seconds later...
The flashlight turned on by itself.
The beam slowly moved toward the staircase.
Standing at the top...
Was a little girl wearing a white dress.
Her long black hair covered her face.
She didn't move.
She didn't blink.
The businessman took one careful step forward.
"Who are you?"
The little girl slowly lifted her head.
Her eyes...
Were completely black.
A terrifying smile spread across her face.
Then...
She disappeared.
Without making a sound.
The entire mansion shook.
A deep voice echoed from every direction.
> "You... came... too... late..."
Then...
Screams.
Horrifying screams filled every room.
The family screamed.
The agent screamed.
The forest became silent again.
---
Three Days Later...
Somewhere beneath the surface of the world...
Hidden from every map...
Was the headquarters of the Shadow Defence Unit.
SDU.
A secret organisation created for one purpose.
To protect humanity from supernatural threats.
Jinn.
Demons.
Cursed creatures.
And every darkness that ordinary people could never see.
For five years...
There had not been a single supernatural case.
Many agents believed the war was finally over.
They were wrong.
Darkness had never disappeared.
It had simply been waiting.
Suddenly...
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
Emergency alarms echoed throughout the underground headquarters.
Every monitor turned blood red.
One message appeared across every screen.
LEVEL BLACK EMERGENCY
The control room fell completely silent.
A technician looked at the Director.
His hands were shaking.
"Sir..."
"It's the Black Mansion."
"We've lost another investigation team."
The Director slowly stood up.
He stared at the screen for several seconds.
Then he quietly said,
"Five years..."
"And the darkness wins its first move."
He pressed a red security button.
A classified file appeared on the giant monitor.
---
TOP SECRET
NAME: Ali Shaheen
CODENAME: Shadow Walker
Status: Inactive
Last Mission: Five Years Ago
Success Rate: 100%
---
The Director took a deep breath.
Then gave only one order.
"Bring him back."
Because when darkness returned...
There was only one man capable of walking through the shadows.
Ali Shaheen.
A heavy silence filled the control room.
No one spoke.
No one moved.
Every pair of eyes remained fixed on the classified file displayed on the giant screen.
ALI SHAHEEN
The youngest agent finally broke the silence.
"Is... is he really that good?"
An old commander standing beside the Director smiled.
"Good?"
"He isn't good."
"He's the reason this organisation still exists."
Another officer nodded.
"Five years ago, he closed the Gate of Shadows."
"He defeated a Dark Jinn that wiped out two entire squads."
"And he did it alone."
The room became silent once again.
The Director closed the file.
"Prepare the helicopter."
"We're bringing him back."
---
Somewhere Far Away...
Hidden beyond snowy mountains...
Far away from cities...
A small wooden cabin stood beside a peaceful lake.
Everything was quiet.
Birds sang.
The wind gently moved through the trees.
A man sat outside the cabin with an old book resting in his hands.
His face was calm.
His breathing never changed.
His eyes slowly moved across the ancient pages.
This man was...
Ali Shaheen.
Suddenly...
Tiny silver lights appeared in the air.
They floated around him like fireflies.
Within seconds...
The lights gathered together.
A beautiful fairy dressed in white appeared before him.
Her long silver hair moved gently with the wind.
Her name was...
Noor.
She looked worried.
"Ali..."
Without lifting his eyes from the book, Ali answered,
"I know."
Noor blinked.
"You felt it?"
Ali slowly closed the book.
"The darkness has awakened."
"The wind carried its voice before you arrived."
For the first time...
Noor looked frightened.
"This darkness isn't like the others."
"It's stronger."
"It's older."
Ali stood up.
His expression remained completely calm.
"So..."
"Our peaceful days are over."
---
At that exact moment...
A military helicopter appeared above the mountains.
Its loud blades shattered the silence.
Several armed agents stepped out.
The Director himself walked toward Ali.
"It's been a long time."
Ali nodded once.
"Five years."
The Director looked directly into his eyes.
"We need you."
Ali remained silent.
"The Black Mansion."
"We've lost three investigation teams."
"No survivors."
"No clues."
"No explanation."
For a few seconds...
Ali didn't say a word.
Then he asked,
"How many people disappeared before our teams arrived?"
The Director looked surprised.
"We don't know."
Ali looked toward the forest.
"That's our first mistake."
---
Noor quietly whispered,
"The first answer is hidden before the first question."
The Director looked around.
"Did you say something?"
Ali simply replied,
"No."
Only Ali could see Noor.
Only Ali could hear her voice.

SDU Headquarters
Two hours later...
The giant steel gate slowly opened.
Every agent stopped what they were doing.
Footsteps echoed across the hallway.
Tap...
Tap...
Tap...
Ali Shaheen walked inside wearing a long black coat.
His calm eyes scanned the room once.
Nothing escaped his attention.
Some young agents whispered,
"So that's him..."
"The Shadow Walker..."
"I thought he was only a legend."
The Director smiled.
"Welcome home."
---
Inside the training hall...
Four young agents were already waiting.
The first one stepped forward confidently.
A proud smile appeared on his face.
"I'm Hamza."
"The smartest investigator in SDU."
"I've solved more training simulations than anyone here."
He crossed his arms proudly.
"Honestly..."
"If they'd sent me first..."
"The Black Mansion case would've already been over."
The room became quiet.
Everyone waited for Ali's reaction.
Ali looked at him for exactly two seconds.
Then...
He walked past him without saying a single word.
Hamza frowned.
"...Did he just ignore me?"
A cheerful laugh echoed behind him.
A young woman stepped forward.
"I'm Ayesha."
"The only normal person on this team."
Without stopping, she continued,
"Hamza thinks he's a genius."
"Bilal is scared of everything."
"Zayan barely talks."
"And now you're our boss."
"I really hope you're more interesting than these three."
Bilal sighed.
"You've been talking for almost a minute."
Ayesha smiled proudly.
"My personal record is seven."
Everyone laughed.
Even Ali's eyes showed the faintest hint of amusement.
---
A nervous young man slowly raised his hand.
"I... I'm Bilal."
"I only have one question."
"If we actually meet a Jinn..."
"...are we allowed to run?"
Ayesha laughed so hard she almost lost her balance.
Hamza rolled his eyes.
"Coward."
Bilal looked hopefully at Ali.
Ali answered with a straight face.
"No."
Bilal sighed dramatically.
"I knew you were going to say that."
---
The last member stepped forward.
Tall.
Silent.
A sword rested across his back.
"I'm Zayan."
Nothing more.
Ali looked at him carefully.
"A swordsman."
Zayan nodded once.
"I don't waste words."
Ali gave a small nod.
"Good."
---
The Director stepped between them.
"From today..."
"Ali Shaheen is officially the leader of Team Zero."
"Your first mission begins..."
He looked at the large screen showing the haunted mansion.
"...right now."
Everyone turned toward the image.
Outside...
Dark clouds once again covered the sky.
And somewhere inside Black Mansion...
Something smiled in the darkness.
To Be Continued...
