The rain didn’t stop.
Minho and Jisoo were still under one umbrella, walking to the bus stop. Shoulder to shoulder. Too close.
“Move over,” Jisoo muttered, even though Minho was already pressed against the edge to keep him dry.
“You’re the one leaning,” Minho said back. But he didn’t move away.
The bus was late. Of course it was.
Water dripped from the umbrella. The street lights made puddles glow.
Jisoo glanced at him. Minho’s jaw was tight, hair damp, school blazer soaked on one side.
He looked... less like a rival. More like just a guy.
“So,” Jisoo tried. “Partners, huh?”
Minho exhaled. “Don’t make it weird.”
“Too late.”
A car splashed past and Minho immediately tilted the umbrella, blocking the spray from hitting Jisoo.
Jisoo noticed. He didn’t say anything. His ears just went red again.
When the bus finally came, it was packed. Only one seat left.
Minho sat. Pulled Jisoo down next to him.
“Don’t fall,” he said quietly.
The ride was 20 minutes of knees bumping, wet sleeves touching, and pretending not to notice.
At Jisoo’s stop, he stood up fast. “See you Monday, rival.”
“Partner,” Minho corrected again, quieter this time.
Jisoo smiled. Just a little.
As he got off, Minho watched him run into the rain without the umbrella.
He sighed, and held the umbrella out the door.
“Idiot,” he whispered. “Catch.”
Jisoo turned, caught it, and ran.
