1st person POV:
As the darkness swallowed me, I heard the sound of my alarm clock, ringing nonstop.
I jolted up, my face sweating so hard. I looked around the familiar room, the ceiling, the bed... Everything.
My eyes blurred with tears.
"Why...? Just why...?" I gasped.
I don't want to wake up... So why? Why would you told me, we will meet again... Only for us to never see each other again...?
The thoughts filled my head, I couldn't focus anymore. My pupil shook as my gaze landed ony desk.
I scrambled on my feet and hurriedly pulled out a notebook and pen, as if I ever took another second, I'll forgot her face.
Tears streamed down my face, my cheeks smeared with tears. I wanted to stop it, but why? Why can't I stop myself from crying, just because I lost you?
My hand shook as I opened the first page.
My hand hovered over the blank page, her face... Why couldn't I remember it?
Eyes...
Mouth...
Hair...
Anything... Her smile...
My eyebrows crumpled into a tight frown, her smile... How did she smiled at me again?
Please... Just let me remember something, even if it's only one โ even if it's only her eyes. Eyes that showed me she's happy, and smiling deep inside.
I shuffled my hair in annoyance, I bit down my lips. Fighting for myself not to cry... And I failed miserable.
The tears fell down uncontrollably, falling on the blank page... Creating a droplets across the paper.
Why can't I remembered your face?
The only thing I wanted to see again.
The girl who made my day beautiful...
I wiped my tears with the back of my palm, I stared at the blank paper.
I couldn't remember her sweet smile.
I couldn't remembere her eyes eyes, telling me she's already falling on me...
I couldn't remember her face...
But I remembered one thing.
Her beautiful smile that made me happy and grinning ear to ear.
I stared down on my shaking hands, my shoulder shook as fresh tears streamed down again โ but now... It fell on my hands, where the one I last used to touched her.
I buried my face onto my palm and started kissing it as my eyes went read and puffy, my nose's red because of my running nose.
I blinked slowly, savoring every minute I kissed my palm.
The hands where her tears fell.
The same hand where she grabbed into.
My eyes felt heavier and heavier, my body halted and my vision went wobbly.
I stood up, my feet got caught on the chair's feet. I fell flat on my stomach, my eyes blinked once one more time and gave out completely... I couldn't opened it.
My body went limp, I wanted to move my finger โ just a little twitch, but I couldn't. Before losing consciousness, I saw HER... Staring at me with a sweet and beautiful smile... Wearing that same smile she gave me, her soft pastel dress that fell past her knees.
She waved at me, and turned around without giving me a second glance.
My throat went dry, I wanted to scream.
I wanted to stop her and kissed her one last time, please look at me!
I opened my mouth and screamed "stop! Please! Just tell your name!" but only broken gasped left my mouth.
She stopped.
Hope suddenly filled my chest.
My lips trembled into a desperate smile.
She's coming back.
But she only looked over her shoulder.
She gave me that same little smile.
Then she waved.
And kept walking.
"Wait..."
My voice barely escaped my throat.
She didn't turn around again.
And then...
she disappeared.
She was only a dream, but forgetting her felt like losing someone real.
My consciousness completely faded, the light on my eyes disappeared instantly. I closed my eyes and thought only one thing: I still want to meet you... But in real life this time.
My head hurts, I don't know how much time passed. The only thing I remembered is her back disappearing through the darkness.
I sat up slowly, my jaw set tight as I clutched my palms until it hurts. My nails dug through my skin, before it drew blood.
But... Huh?
I passed out on the floor, right? So why am I on the bed? I'm living alone...
My head snapped up, the realization strucked me โ did I really met her? And she put me on the bed? Or is just an imagination... and I didn't woke up earlier...?
I swallowed hard, confusion rose on my chest to my head. I looked beside my bed, a full body mirror.
That's when I knew it and definitely sure that it was not a hallucination, or imagination...
My left cheek... Have...
Have a faint pink lipstick โ it looked like someone kissed my cheeks when I'm unconscious.
That shade... It was the same color she'd been wearing.
But that was impossible.
I stared at the faint pink mark on my cheek.
My heart stopped.
That color...
It was the same shade she had worn.
No.
That couldn't be possible.
She was a dream.
She had to be.
Not only the cheeks, my lips smudged with a lipstick โ messy... But do I mind?
Definitely not.
"If she wasn't real, then how did she leave evidence behind?" I mumbled.
As I'm lost in thought, a cold breeze hit my face.
The window is open, I remembered it being closed earlier.
I stared at it, completely stunned, my face burned bright red... My hands found my face and covered it completely.
I don't want to wash up, I didn't want to erase the only evidence that you came just for me.
I stood up, smiling ear to ear.
My eyes caught a glimpse of something, the floor...? Have a grass?
Huh...? How did it get here?
I stared at the grass for a long moment then chuckled softly, I crouched down and picked it up โ hoping it's from the girl. Call me delulu or something, but I felt happy just seeing something as simple as a grass.
I walked to my desk, opened my drawer and a tiny plastic container. I put it inside and kept it closed tight.
My lips stretched into a wide smile, my face hurt from smiling, but so what?
My hand brushed something.
I didn't pay attention to it, but it accidentally fell.
I clicked my tongue and froze on my track, my hand reaching midair. A pink bracelet?
Why would a ribbon suddenly appeared on my room? The girl... Did she wore a bracelet?
I stared at it for a long time and I noticed a note beside it, I picked it up and read the letter.
"Don't miss me too much, maybe... Just maybe, we will meet again some day? ๐
- faceless girl, s" before she could finish the word, her handwriting became unreadable... Like she hurriedly wrote it before disappearing, or getting dragged away.
My hand's shook uncontrollably, I clutched the letter tightly onto my chest, my eyes went red โ I don't want to cry... NO, I shouldn't cry.
I held back my tears and laughed silently, as the hopefulness rose on my chest.
I couldn't think straight anymore... But the only thing I'm sure about, is that the girl in my dream also missed me. I couldn't prove it, but somehow I knew.
And that was enough for me.
