ROME (22): A street-smart, aimless amateur boxer and petty enforcer. Guarded, tough on the outside, deeply vulnerable within.
RAFFY (20): Harry’s younger brother. Soft-spoken, observant, gentle, and artistically inclined. The sole anchor of tenderness in Rome's violent world.
HARRY (24): Raffy’s older brother. An idealistic, principled social worker fighting local corruption.
JACK (27): Rome’s older brother. Ronnie’s right-hand accountant. Pragmatic, desperate to keep Rome safe.
RONNIE (40s): A ruthless Bangkok neighborhood crime lord.
SHADOWS OF BANGKOK
BANGKOK BACK ALLEY - NIGHT
Neon lights bleed into rainwater puddles. ROME (22) leans against a brick wall, wrapping his knuckles with bruised, battered cloth. He exhales a plume of smoke into the muggy night air.
JACK (27) approaches, holding a thick ledger under his arm.
JACK
Ronnie wants the payment from the noodle vendor on 4th Street. He’s two weeks late.
ROME
(Without looking up)
He’s an old man, Jack. His wife is in the hospital.
JACK
And Ronnie is a shark. If you don't collect, he’ll send Niu, and Niu won't just take the money. He'll break the old man’s hands. Do your job, Rome. Keep your head down so I can keep us alive.
Rome tosses his cigarette butt into the wet asphalt and grinds it beneath his boot.
CHOPRAYA RIVER DOCKS - EVENING
RAFFY (20) sits on a wooden crate, painting the sunset in watercolor. Rome walks up slowly, hands stuffed in his pockets. He’s supposed to be scouting the area for Ronnie, but his eyes lock onto Raffy.
Raffy looks up and smiles softly, brushing a stray lock of hair behind his ear.
RAFFY
My brother Harry told me you were hanging around the community center yesterday.
ROME
Your brother has a big mouth and no sense of danger.
RAFFY
(Laughs softly, dipping his brush in water)
Harry just believes in people. But I think you only came by because you were looking for a quiet place to breathe.
Rome sits on the edge of the dock beside Raffy, watching the orange light reflect off the river.
ROME
You shouldn't be out here alone. Ronnie’s men run these docks.
RAFFY
(Looking directly into Rome's eyes)
I’m not alone. You’re here.
Raffy sets his paintbrush down and gently reaches over, his soft fingers closing over Rome’s calloused, scarred knuckles. Rome freezes, caught off guard by the absence of fear in Raffy's touch.
ROME
(Voice dropping low)
You don't know who I am, Raffy. I do bad things for bad people.
RAFFY
I know who you pretend to be. But right now, your hands are shaking, Rome.
Raffy lifts Rome's hand, pressing a soft kiss directly to the fresh cut across his knuckles. Rome’s breath hitches. He pulls Raffy closer by the waist, resting his forehead against Raffy's, drinking in the quiet scent of paint and rain.
DANGEROUS DEVOTION
ROME’S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Rain lashes against the glass. The small room is lit only by the golden glow of a bedside lamp. Rome sits shirtless on the bed. Raffy sits kneeling between Rome’s thighs, holding a small bowl of warm water and a cotton swab to clean Rome's boxing injuries.
ROME
(Wincing slightly)
I can clean my own cuts, Raffy.
RAFFY
(Holding Rome's chin firmly)
You know how to give bruises, Rome. You don't know how to heal them. Hold still.
Raffy presses a damp cloth to a deep bruise over Rome’s ribs. Rome groans, his hands gripping Raffy's hips. The touch shifts from medical to intensely personal.
ROME
If Ronnie finds out about us... if he knows you’re my weak spot...
RAFFY
(Looking down at Rome's lips)
Then don't let him find out. But don't push me away, either.
Rome pulls Raffy down into his lap. Raffy wraps his arms tight around Rome's broad shoulders as Rome presses his lips against Raffy’s neck, kissing down to his collarbone. Raffy sighs softly, tangling his fingers in Rome’s damp hair.
RAFFY (CONT'D)
(Whispering)
Promise me you'll get out of the ring. Promise me we'll leave Bangkok.
ROME
I promise you, Raffy. Everything I do from now on... it’s to buy your freedom.
THE AMBUSH AND THE BETRAYAL
RONNIE’S HEADQUARTERS - NIGHT
RONNIE (40s) sits behind a polished teakwood desk, slicing an apple with a heavy folding knife. Jack stands off to the side, looking anxious.
RONNIE
Rome’s getting cozy with the social worker’s little brother. And the social worker—Harry—is stirring up trouble with our tenants.
JACK
Rome is loyal, boss. He's just using the kid to keep tabs on Harry.
RONNIE
(Smiling coldly)
Good. Then tell Rome to bring Harry to the abandoned warehouse on 9th tonight. Tell him we're ready to sign the lease extension for the center.
ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
Rain pours relentlessly. HARRY (24) approaches the warehouse, holding an umbrella, thinking he’s saving the community center. Rome stands nearby, horrified, having just realized Ronnie lied to him.
ROME
Harry, run! Get out of here! It’s a setup!
Before Harry can turn, headlights blind them. NIU and Ronnie’s enforcers step out with weapons.
NIU
Ronnie sends his regards.
Niu draws a gun. Rome throws himself forward, fighting wildly against two men, but a heavy iron pipe strikes the back of his head. Bleeding on the wet asphalt, Rome watches in sheer agony as Niu pulls the trigger.
BANG.
Harry falls dead onto the pavement.
FALLEN HEAVEN
GRAVEYARD - DAY (RAIN)
Raffy stands over Harry’s fresh grave, holding a black umbrella and a single white orchid. Rome stands twenty feet away, battered, drenched, his soul completely destroyed.
Rome steps forward carefully.
ROME
Raffy...
Raffy turns. His eyes, once full of light and tenderness, are red, hollow, and cold.
RAFFY
Harry trusted you because I told him you were good. I told him you would protect us.
ROME
(Voice cracking, tears streaming down)
I didn't know Ronnie was going to kill him! Swear on my life, Raffy, I was tricked!
RAFFY
(Shaking his head, stepping back)
You brought him there, Rome. Your hands are covered in my brother's blood. Don't touch me. Don't look at me. Stay away from me forever.
Raffy drops the orchid onto the wet soil and walks away without looking back.
INT. ROME’S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Rome sits on the floor in darkness, surrounded by empty whiskey bottles. He holds a gun against his own temple, weeping, ready to end it like his father did.
Jack bursts through the door and kicks the gun out of his hand.
JACK
ARE YOU CRAZY?!
ROME
(Screaming)
I KILLED HARRY, JACK! I BROKE RAFFY! I HAVE NOTHING LEFT!
JACK
Listen to me! Ronnie set up a championship fight for you. Big betting ring. He wants you to take a dive in the 4th round. After that, we take our money and we leave Thailand!
ROME
(Staring at Jack with cold, dead eyes)
No more running, Jack. No more diving.
THE RECKONING
BANGKOK ARENA - DRESSING ROOM - NIGHT
Rome sits on the bench, wrapping his knuckles with ruthless precision.
Jack rushes into the room, gasping for breath, throwing a bloody flash drive onto the table.
JACK
I got Ronnie’s financial ledgers out of his safe. I'm going to the police right now, Rome. You don't have to throw the fight. Fight to win.
ROME
(Grabbing Jack's arm)
Jack, wait—it’s too dangerous!
JACK
(Smiling tearfully)
You deserve to be happy with Raffy. Let me fix my mistakes for once.
INT. BANGKOK ARENA - NIGHT (CLIMAX)
The arena is packed. Ronnie sits in the VIP box, smiling. In the opposite corner stands NIU, Ronnie’s prime brute.
In the 4th round, Niu leans into the clinch, whispering into Rome's ear.
NIU
Jack didn't make it to the police station, kid. Ronnie put two bullets in his chest ten minutes ago.
Rome’s eyes widen. His world shatters into pure, volcanic rage.
ROME
(A guttural roar)
AAAARRRGGGHHH!
Rome unleashes a terrifying storm of punches—devastating hooks, crushing uppercuts, relentless body blows. Niu staggers back, bloody and dazed. With a final, roaring left hook, Rome sends Niu crashing unconscious to the canvas.
The referee counts him out. KNOCKOUT.
Rome turns toward the VIP box, pointing his bloody glove straight at Ronnie as federal police officers kick open the VIP doors, dragging Ronnie out in handcuffs using the backup evidence Jack hid.
HARRY MEMORIAL COMMUNITY CENTER - DAY (MONTHS LATER)
Sunlight bathes the newly renovated center. Children play in the courtyard.
Rome stands by the fence, clean-cut, wearing a white shirt, looking at a mural painted on the wall.
Raffy walks up slowly, holding a canvas. He stops beside Rome.
RAFFY
Jack left a letter in his locker before he went to Ronnie’s safe. He asked me to forgive you.
ROME
(Looking down, eyes brimming with tears)
You don't have to, Raffy. I'll spend the rest of my life earning it from a distance.
Raffy sets the canvas down. He steps in close, reaching up to gently touch the faded scar beside Rome's eye—the exact same way he did on the docks.
RAFFY
I’m not holding onto anger anymore, Rome. I’m holding onto you.
Raffy pulls Rome down into a deep, emotional kiss in the warm afternoon sun. Rome wraps his arms tight around Raffy’s waist, finally finding peace.
I don't know
