Love, a feeling that can make you experience happiness, sadness, excitement, nervousness and everything that you can list. But relationships doesn't only require love, it also requires trust, respect and time for your loved ones.
One such relationship was of Andrew and Sophia, a happily married couple who lead a normal life in a prestigious city. Andrew was the CEO of a big company while Sophia was a homemaker. Their married life could be described as an ideal marriage, to some extent. Andrew loved Sophia deeply and she did the same. Both of them trusted and respected each other. But there was something that lacked and that was 'time'. So let's see how their story goes...
"Sophia, where is my tie and watch", called a charming deep voice of Andrew.
"Coming dear", came a sweet voice of her beloved wife, Sophia.
"Let me help you", said she, helping him with his tie. "Okay done, now let's have breakfast Andrew", said Sophia with a sweet smile.
"Sorry dear, but there is too much work in the company, you know na, I'm working on a project from three months and there will be a huge profit once it is completed", said he.
"I know Andrew, how important this project is to you. But you should also take care of your health", said she.
"You are there na, to take care of me", said he.
"What if I won't be there...", before she could say more, Andrew placed hands on her mouth.
"Don't speak nonsense, you will always be there with me. I won't let you go.", said he.
"Okay, no more talks, now go quickly, you are getting late", said she.
"Ok, bye dear, love you", he placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Love you too", said she.
He went to his office. This was their routine since 3 months. He would rarely eat breakfast and would go to his office and return home late. But Sophia didn't have any complaints, she was an understanding girl.
"John, how much more work is left?", asked Andrew to his secretary
"Sir, there is comparatively less work left than we expected. I think we can complete it within this week", replied the secretary.
"That's great. Now we can finally rest after one week. And I can spend time with my wife", there was a sudden glow in Andrew's eyes.
"You seem to love your wife very much sir", John could see the happiness on his face while mentioning Sophia's name.
"More than my life", replied he.
"And sir, this week is very crutial for all of us. We have to work hard and we can't take any leave now", said John.
"Okay, so say this to all the staff and also say that after this project gains success, I will give increments to all.", said Andrew.
"Thank you sir"
While in the house, Sophia got a call that her mother was ill and she had to urgently travel to S city. So she called Andrew.
"Hello Andrew, I got a call from my mom", said she.
"Is she doing well?" asked he
"No, she is seriously ill and so we have to urgently travel to S city, maybe this afternoon", said she.
"Afternoon? But it's too early for me to sort out my work here", said he.
"It's okay dear. But I have to go", said she.
"But I can't let you travel alone, let me do something", said he.
"Andrew, I'm not a kid, I can go", said she.
"Okay, I can't win against you", said he.
"Oh yes, and I may not be able to call you these days as network connection is not good there", said she.
"Okay, but you take care there and give my regards to mother in law", said he.
"Hmm, okay then bye, and since all these days I'm not here, so make sure to eat properly and take care of yourself", said she.
"Okay dear, and... I'll miss you", said he.
"I'll miss you too", said she.
And she left for S city that afternoon. The next morning...
"Sophia, my laptop...", while saying he realized that she was not present, "I forgot she is not here. I have started missing her the first day itself".
Not only the first day, he missed her everyday. Sometimes work would divert his mind in office hours but after returning home, his mind would again be filled with her thoughts. Days passed like this and the week ended.
"Sir, project is finally completed now. We can finally relax", said John.
"Hmm..."
"Sir, aren't you happy for it? This project was so important to you and finally it is completed", said John.
"No, I'm happy. It's just that, it has been a week and I haven't called Sophia so I miss her", said he.
"Don't worry sir, she will come soon. I'm sure she would be missing you equally"
At that time, Andrew's phone rang. It was the call of his most beloved person.
"Sophia! You finally called. How are you? Is mother in law okay? You know how much I missed you", he said in an exited voice.
"Andrew, let me speak. I and mom, both are fine. And I know how much you missed me because I missed you equally", said she.
"You know, my project is completed and I can finally spend time with you. Once you come, we will go for a trip. Oh btw, when are you coming?", said he.
"I'm coming tomorrow by flight", said she.
"Really, that's great. When? Which flight? Which airport?", asked he.
"I'll send you the information by message, ok?", said she.
"Ok"
"Andrew, my phone battery is low. We'll talk peacefully when I reach there.", said she.
"Ok, bye dear", said he.
Next day, he was ready before the time, as he was very excited to meet his wife after a week.
"There is still time. What shall I do? Let's watch TV", saying that he turned on the TV.
"Breaking news! The flight xxx which was returning from s city has crashed due to jet engine failure. We have not got clear information, but most of the passengers couldn't survive."
"Flight xxx... Sophia's flight!", tears gathered around his eyes immediately, he fell on his knees, his whole world was turned upside down, he couldn't think of anything... "No, it can't be...SHE CAN'T LEAVE ME!", his scream echoed in the whole house but there was no-one to hear him. He couldn't help but cry continuously, alone, totally alone...
There is a saying- You only know the value of a thing when you lose it. At some points Andrew did ignore Sophia because of work and maybe because of that, this tragedy happened...
