I was tired. So damn tired of the life I was living. You'd say, "But others have it worse". Yeah, I know that, but believe me when I say it doesn't help. If there are people who have it worse, then there are people who have it way better than me. And being a girl doesn't help in the least bit. Periods, creepy stalkers, societal norms.........they just focus on making your life harder than it already is. The only thing that's on your side is the nature. The soft breeze, the cool shade underneath trees, the warm sunshine........it feels so blissful to be in the care of Mother Nature. So I went out for a jog. It was still evening, but the sky was very dark with no clouds to be seen. I had just started when I saw a shooting star. Of course I wished. I stood and wished hard, and hoped it would come true. Having done that, I had no mood to jog further. I went home, did my work, ate the food I cooked, and went to sleep. It was early to sleep, but I couldn't care more. The next day, I did my chores and went to school. Everyone treated me differently than they used to. They were kind and careful about what they did. And they tried to be funny around me. Even though something felt wrong, it didn't matter because it was a rare and wonderful day I never had before. Even my neighbours acted the same way. I went to my room, wondering what was happening, and I remembered. Their eyes. All of their eyes told me the same thing. It was as if they saw something so horrible that they couldn't even talk about it. But what exactly had they seen? That answer, was right in front of me. My reflection in the mirror. I looked so pale and horrible. It was as if I had lost all my muscles and my skin hung to my bones. No wonder they were afraid of what they'd seen. I thought it didn't make sense, but a few seconds later, it made all the sense in the world to me. My wish. That was what had caused all this. I had wished to be different. I had wished to be unique. And it happened.
