As a teenager who should be partying and hanging out, I spent my days reading comics and watching anime. My friend's stopped calling me either because I used to cancel the plans in the end. I wasn't good at socializing and crowd suffocated me. So eventually, I lost friend's. Yeah it kinda hurts but you gotta go with the flow I guess.But later I was bullied by them because they felt I was trying to ignore them.I tried sorting out things but they didn't even listen to my side of the story.Life kinda got rough.They wrote mean things on my desk, threw paper balls at me and many other shit. But one day at lunch I was looking for a table to settle down and eat.I found one in the corner and while I was on my way to occupy the table Eva,one of my "so called " friend put her leg in between while I was passing by her which made me trip and fall.The juice splashed over my face, food stains on my T-shirt.It was so embarrassing.Everyone one was laughing and clicking images of me. It was too much to bear. I stood up and ran away from the canteen. I went to the washroom and cleaned myself. I couldn't stop crying, I was tired of being a victim but I was too afraid to complain about them.
On my way back to home,I stopped by a comic book store.While I was going through the comics I found this book which caught my attention which was placed in the corner of the shelf.The name of the book was "The Tale Of Medusa".It was covered in dust.It looked like nobody shook it from that place.I went through few pages and I totally fell in love with the book.I got so addicted to Greek mythology that sometimes I wished I was born at that time.I started reading alot of Greek mythology books about Zeus,Ares and others.I skipped school for two day's.I needed a break from whatever happened back at the school canteen. The video of me tripping over at the school canteen got viral.People used to look at me laugh and make fun of me. Diana was the one who shared the video in the school group's which went viral. Diana was once a friend of mine.
I decided to complain the school principal about them which I did. They got suspended for a week for bullying.I felt relieved and happy that I won't be able to see them in the school for a week.No more bullying,no more crying.How peaceful!
One day after school while I was walking home I saw Eva and Diana.I tried to ignore them as I passed by them.Diana pulled my hand and stopped me. I was scared and I told her to let go of my hand.Eva told me that they have come to apologize for what they did and they wanna be friend's again.They told me that they realised that it was very wrong of them to treat me like that. They both came forward and hugged me. I felt so happy that I started crying out of happiness."Let's be friends again. We'll make it up-to you by hosting a small party for you.Meet us tomorrow here after school",said Eva.They both waved a goodbye and left.I was so happy that things were gonna get normal and that I had my friend's back.Next Day after school I stood at the place where I met them yesterday.Eva and Diana came in the car with two guys.I didn't wanted to get inside but Diana told me not to worry and they were gonna join us for the party.They took a place which I had never seen before. It was quiet,cold and had a lake.Beautiful flowers and huge trees.Beautiful yet eerie.
We sat around in a circle.“Well Megan, this is Chris and he's my boyfriend and that's Jacob ,he is Chris's friend” said Diana by introducing us to eachother. I never knew Diana had a boyfriend.But since we didn't speak for a long time many things did change.
Everyone got drunk except me.They were singing and dancing around. I was happy spending a good time with my friends.
They were tired and worn out so they sat down around the fire. "You must've felt happy getting us suspended from the school. Isn't it Megan?", Diana looked at me and asked. I was startled." I didn't mean to get you suspended.I just complained because you guys went overboard with your bullying." I replied to her while looking down at my shoes. I couldn't raise my head because I was too scared of what was gonna happen next."I wanna go home so I'll leave now. Thank you for inviting me." I told this to them while I was getting ready to leave. "You're not going anywhere. We haven't done talking yet. You ruined our lives. Our parents think we bully kids at school.We were suspended for a week for a prank we pulled on you" said Eva in an aggressive tone. " You call that a prank? Y'all made me a laughing stock.The others made fun of me. It's so hard to walk in the hallway when I have so many eyes staring at me" I told Eva as I wiped my tears. As I tried to leave, Diana pulled my bag and tried to stop me. I pushed her in a manner to loosen her grip on my bag which got her falling on the ground.She got a cut on her elbow and bled." Oh god! I'm so sorry Diana I didn't mean to hurt you. I just tried to free myself".I kept on apologising.
Diana lost her sense and punched me in the stomach.Her boyfriend pulled my bag and threw it aside. I fell on the ground because I couldn't bare the impact of the punch that gave me tremendous pain. My books were all scattered on the ground."Look what I found " said Chris picking up The tale of Medusa book. I was laying in the ground with no strength to stand up.Chris Goes through few pages and shows it to the others.They gathered around and discussed something."For getting us suspended we're gonna pull a prank on you.It'll be a foreplay and the Title of the foreplay is "The tale of Medusa" said Diana. As soon as I heard this I begged them to let me go because I knew what was the story of Medusa.They didn't show any mercy. I stood up with all the remaining strength and tried to run but Jacob pulled my legs from behind which got me falling on the ground again. Eva took out her phone and got ready to shoot."Let's make it more interesting " Chris said. He started reading the book out loud.
"As Medusa begged for help from Athena to save her from Poseidon but Athena didn't answer her prayer's".Jacob got me from the behind and tried to pull down my pants. I begged Diana to stop him but she didn't bother and laughed and kept saying that I deserved it."Poseidon raped Medusa in the temple of Athena while she begged him to let her go" Chris narrated. He tore my T-shirt and ran his nasty fingers around my neck. "Stop him!! " I screamed above my lungs."I think this is enough to teach her a lesson" said Eva."Yeah,this is enough.Let her go Jacob" said Chris and threw the book in the fire.But Jacob didn't stop. He kept touching me inappropriately and kept running his hands all over my body. I kept screaming and begging for him to stop. "Stop him Chris.Your friend is going overboard." said Diana. As Chris stepped forward to stop Jacob, he pulled out a knife and told Chris to stay away .The prank was gone too far.He held the knife around my neck and told me that if I make any more noises he'd slit my throat.He kept thrusting into me while the others stood like they were petrified by his gaze. I just laid there lifeless.I could barely move with a knife around my neck.And when he was done with me, he told me that if I utter a word about this to anybody he'd viral the video and do it again.
Diana and Eva picked me up and got me clothes from the mart on my way to home.They warned me again and told me to keep my mouth shut.
I layed on my bed.The thought of earlier made me puke.I quit school and took up homeschooling. The incident haunted me all the time.I barely slept.I went totally insane.
And one night I tried to hang myself to death but my parents made it in time and took me to the hospital
It's been 6 months that I've been kept in a psychiatric ward. Doctor's say that I deal with schizophrenia.I tried to explain him about everything that has happened. He told me that I never had friend's named as Eva, Chris, Diana and Jacob and that I never went to school either.I was being homeschooled since the very beginning.He told me that the incident of me getting raped was a hallucination my brain created after I read The tale of Medusa.He told me that I tried to live as the character and built up a fake and depressing event in my brain. And that's why I tried to take my own life.I told him there's a video recording of what has happened to me. He showed me a video of me sitting in front of my phone camera crying and begging and tearing my own T-shirt.
He explained everything to me and gave me a shot of Diazpam and left."Wait! " I told the doctor.“But she told me she's real” I told the doctor.He asked me "who's real?" I told him,“Medusa!”. He shut the door and left.And I fell asleep due to the heavy dose of the injection.
