Myra’s POV
It was evening. I was sitting on a chair and looking outside the window. The weather was perfect for some romance. I was waiting for my boyfriend to come back home from his work.
The wind was so warm and smooth that whenever it touched my face, I felt like ‘he’ is near me, caressing my face with his long beautiful fingers. I really loved him so much, even more than myself.
After moments I saw a black car coming towards the house. I excitedly got up from the chair and ran towards the door to welcome him. Our house was located in a quiet peaceful surrounding because it gave us a different kind of happiness.
There were only a few houses in the neighborhood and the people living here were mostly aged couples. But still they are very kind and gentle towards us. They took care of us like their own child because we were the only young couple living here.
Just as ‘he’ reached the door, I opened it before him and greeted him with a smile. “Welcome home, Ben!”
He just hummed and gave me his suitcase and walked away loosening his tie. ‘Did he just ignored me?’, I thought. But then I shrugged off the thought and smiled again. ‘He must be tired from work.’
I put the suitcase on the table and walked towards the kitchen. ‘He must be feeling thirsty after doing so much work. ‘ I grabbed a glass of water and went to our bedroom. As I was going to open the door, I heard him talking on the phone.
I thought not to interrupt him so I just stood there and waited for the call to end. After few minutes the room was silent so I opened the door and went inside.
He took the glass of water and drank it without taking a glance at me. I was nervous. ‘God, should I ask him or not? What if he gets angry about it? But… it.. it’s my right to ask him!’ I was nervously biting my fingers and looking at the ground. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t heard him calling my name.
He shouted my name which made me flinched. ‘Gosh, it nearly gave me a heart attack!’ I sighed deeply and looked at him. I finally build up my courage and decided to ask him.
“Ben!” He looked at me with a questioning gaze. “Ben, I… I didn’t meant to eavesdrop on you.. I… I was just standing outside the door and waiting for your call to end-“
Before I could continue, he interrupted me. “What are you trying to say Myra? Just get to the point. You know I don’t like to waste my time useless talks”
Yeah! How could I forget that! My workaholic boyfriend has to manage a company afterall and that’s why he stopped talking to me like before. Those simple conversations between us which gave me eternal satisfaction were long gone.
He wasn’t the same anymore. To be honest, I missed that cute, caring and gentle Ben who always took care of me. He always used to spend his time with me no matter how busy he was. I was really dying to be pampered by him like before.
But, let it be. It has already been 5 years and we are adults now. I have to support him and take care of him because he works so hard to make a living for both of us. I need to be matured for him.
“Ben, I heard you talking about a business trip. Are you going somewhere?” That’s it! He groaned in annoyance and looked at me darkly.
“Myra how many times I need to tell you that don’t interfere in my work life! You really make me annoyed sometimes! Do I really need to tell you every, each detail I do? Am I not allowed to step outside anywhere without informing you? Who do you think you are?” He growled at me and stormed outside the room. I could tell he was pissed off at me.
I didn’t even realised that I was crying until a few drops of tear trailed down to my chin from my eyes. I wiped off the tears and took a long breath.
‘Who am I? That’s what you asked from me right! Did you forget that I’m your girlfriend?’ I really wanted to cry out that time so badly and run away somewhere but I composed myself from breaking down.
It wasn’t the first time it happened with me. It has been a few months that he is ignoring me treating me like a slave. ‘Is he starting to hate me? Is he finally tired of living with me? Am I not even qualified to ask about him or where he is, what is he doing? Am I really that annoying?’

It has been a week that we didn’t talked to each other. Whenever I tried to start a topic, he just ignored me or left me. It really hurted me deep inside. ‘Is he disgusted with me?’
That thought came running to my mind breaking all my hopes. But then I was disturbed by a call. I picked up my phone and saw the caller ID. It was Ryan, Ben’s secretary. He was also a good friend of mine.
I smiled happily and answered the call. “Hello”
“Myraaaaaaaaa! HOW ARE YOU?! IT HAS BEEN SO LONG!” I heard him shouting excitedly from the other end of the call.
“I’m fine Ryan! What about you?” I responded.
“Oh really? I thought you would be sad and lovesick” He asked me teasingly.
“Sad? But why?” I didn’t understand what he meant.
“Oh come on! Didn’t that cold face told you that he went to a 3 month business trip to States. But let me tell you, I’m really happy that finally I won’t get to see that boring face of him for 3 months. It really give me too much satisfaction atleast for 3 months!” He sounded happy.
I felt a sudden pang on my heart. I clenched my chest and closed my eyes so tightly, so that the tears which were about to fall from my eyes will remain there. I won’t cry this time.
Ryan called my name several times but I wasn’t able to say a word to him. Voice wasn’t able to come out from my mouth. My lips were trembling and eyes had become red.
I lastly managed to say a goodbye to him and cut the call hurriedly. My body slowly collapsed on the floor. My mind went blank and I slowly drifted to sleep unknowingly.
When I opened my eyes it was already night. I saw the lights were turned off and the only source of light which was coming to the room was from the moon. I slowly got up from the cold floor and walked towards the window.
Thousands of thoughts were running on my mind but I didn’t cared about anything. I just looked at the moon and admired it.
‘’Dear moon, even though you reflects the sun’s light, you still look so shiny and pretty. Unlike me. I am not even qualified to become my boyfriend’s shadow. “
I smiled bitterly and returned back to the floor where I was lying before. I laid there again and closed my eyes. ‘That big comfy bed isn’t made for me. It doesn’t matter whether I sleep on the bed or floor because none can give me the warmth I need.’
That night, I didn’t thought of anything except for the memories of us when we both were happy being together. I remembered every single memory of us when we were happy with each other.
But now, the love wasn’t mutual in the relationship. Everything was shattered. The other one didn’t even cared to tell about the business trip and neither he talked to her for the whole week. No matter how much she tried to approach him, he always gave her a cold shoulder.
But everyone has a limit to their patience right. Whether it’s love or trust, in a relationship patience and mutual understanding is really important. But what if you are already in your limits.

It had already been 2 months.. Neither he called nor she.. Both of them were busy in their own world waiting for the other to approach him/her first. But patience has a limit right…
Finally Myra gave up and decided to gave a ‘last call' to Ben. Her face was expressionless. Her eyes were blankly staring at the phone waiting for the other person to pick up.
After a few rings, he answered the call. “Hello?”
“……”
“Myra?” He called her name. But as she was going to reply, she heard a female voice from the other side.
{Ben, with whom are you talking to?”
What Ben replied was enough to make her lost the only hope she was holding.
‘NO ONE’
After listening to their conversation she quickly replied him without letting him speak.
“Ben, LET’S BREAK UP!”
It was crystal clear. There was no need to repeat that again. She quickly cut the call after that and waited for him to call back again. But there was no phone call from him, not even a message.
She waited long enough for him. She just stared at the phone for many hours but there wasn’t any movement.
‘So this is it! This is his answer. Maybe he expected that. Now.. there won’t be anyone to annoy him. He can live his life happily. Now… there won’t be sadness or struggle in his life. He must happy that finally… the burden is removed from him…. I… I wish you happiness Ben!’

She picked up her luggage and was ready to step outside the house. But before that she turned around and looked at the house with all her heart. After she was satisfied, she went outside and stretched her hands in the air.
“Yay! Finally I’m free! Now no more pain! Live your life to the fullest Myra!”
She cheered herself and walked towards the taxi which was parked near the road. She hoped in and told the driver to start the taxi.
She lastly said to herself “Wish you happiness Myra…”
