When you sleep at night I sit to have a conversation with the moon thinking ' what it could be ?'.
The conversation often turns to ' what if ?', stirring the false hopes and producing the feeling of grief.
But he never gets bored by all my mumbling nonsense which to me is a great relief.
Sometimes stars demand his attention and sometimes the whole night is just for him and me.
With the clouds as his shawl sometimes he tries to play hide and seek and playful anger me.
When the wind plays its melodies and brings stories of distant lands, we together listen to it as good friends.
When it rains I don't see him and the darker my nights get but the very next day with a smile near my window he stands.
" oh! What did I miss ? " will be the start of the conversation, knowing very well that he is the very object that I miss.
He reminds me of happy memories of my childhood when I use to sit in my mother's lap happily gazing at him.
Or the time I use to sit with my diary and dreaming about love gazing towards him while eating ice cream.
or the time when I used to play hide and seek making him my imaginary friend.
or the time when I used to walk from tuition to home and he used to guild me through the dark road.
Now I sit near my hospital window gazing at him while he looks around the world and tells me tales that go around him.
He recites me stories of lovers staring at him with arm in arm, or tales of families sleeping hungry for the bad farm.
He tells stories of great wars once fought and mothers begging him for the safety of their sons.
He tells me about feverish lovers gazing at him for hours or writing like Strom poems for their love.
He talks about the orphans who gaze at him with moisture in their eyes and how much for love they starve.
When the brightness spread across the sky with lots of promises of tomorrow he says goodbye.
All-day I wait for him, I miss our conversations that I am not going to lie.
Again at night with him, I start all over again 'Again no sleep tonight? what it could be ?'
And his answer like always will be ' This night has no place for sleeping, it's just you and me. '
