Hello this is my first short story. Hope you'll like it. Please try to read it with feeling 😊
"Dear John, I have no idea how could I do it. My life ended just the second I said, 'Leave me. I don't like you.' It felt as if my heart shattered into a million pieces. I didn't know what to do. My love, I still hope to see you again."
This is Rebecca Williams, a 33 year old married woman, who has a good husband and 3 children - David, Nicholas and Stephanie. She was writing a letter to someone who was the closest to her.
"I don't have any complaint to my husband; he's an economical clerk with good earning. Neither do I have a complaint to my children; they are innocent."
"My heart has a complaint to none but myself. I gave it pain. I refused it and lost my love for my own selfish needs."
"I don't know which part of the world you are in, John. But I hope you are well and fine. I refused you, by which I hurt my self more, and I know I am never going to be forgiven. But I still ask for forgiveness from you, my love."
"No! I didn't betray you. I never betrayed you. I still stay true to you and our love. Those warm and happy times we've spent together are the greatest moments of my life. I never wanted to leave you but I was forced to."
"I respected my parents and agreed to any decision they made. I had told them highly of you every time they thought you were not fit to be my husband. But sorry John, this time, I gave up."
"I still dream of you going with me to our own house, running in the fields, splashing water at each other, and what not."
"I am not your pure and innocent Rebecca anymore. But I want to tell you, that even if the earth collapses, my heart will always belong to you."
"I married Robert due to financial matters. But I only yearn for you."
"I am alive just for you. When will you come back, John? How much more do I have to suffer for my misdeeds?"
"I don't know whether you are in this world or not. But I pray to god to keep you happy, safe and sound all the time."
"John, how can I explain my sorrows to you? Why don't you just accept me? Maybe I hope, in my next life, we'll be reunited again."
Rebecca finished writing another letter about how she spends her life without her lover John. She knew that those letters would never reach John, but if they do, he must learn how much she missed him. She folded the letter and kept it in her bag, which was bulging with letters all written to John.
It seemed that she wrote these letters every day, hoping that one day John would surely see them and understand her pains.
She went to the kitchen and prepared supper, and rocked the cradle of baby Stephanie.
But on the other hand, she had a very beautiful family which consisted of a 6-year-old son named David, a 3-year-old named Nicholas, and a 1-year-old named Stephanie. Robert was a very good husband. He was just like any other householder who loved his wife, children and job.
Though he and Rebecca married due to financial matters, he truly loved her and hoped that she would love him equally.
Days passed by. And a whole year passed by.
Things have changed. Robert's kind and caring nature soon created a place for him in Rebecca's heart.
But Rebecca denied him. "Maybe," she wrote in one of her letters, "he resembles you John, for which I feel like I love him... "
But then she realized what she was up to. She could never agree that she loved someone else besides John. And as she fought with her inner feelings, she came up with a terrible idea.
Whether she was sane or insane, at the time she decided to kill herself, will never be known, but she was surely hurting herself.
It was a cloudy morning. Rebecca woke up at around 4:00 in the morning. The children were sleeping soundly and so was her husband. Before executing herself, she took a piece of paper and a pen.
"John, I loved you, I love you and will continue to love you. Every drop of my blood belongs to you," she wrote, before she suspended herself from the rope around her neck and killed herself.
